Chapter 12 Now I'm Single

"Dion, last night you said we'd meet Franda."

"Yes. Franda's a kindergarten teacher."

"Surely she's a mother until you fall in love."

"She's beautiful. She loves children, after all, sure to be a good mother if married."

Arriving at Kindergarten, Krystal and Dion head straight for the classroom. Being in a school full of young children reminds Dion of his childhood. He also attended a Kindergarten school. And now it's like going back to those days.

A Kindergarten student approached Krystal and Dion.

"Big brother, my name is Dion." Krystal was flabbergasted and smiled as she touched the boy's arm.

"Your name, Dion? Similar to my name." Dion.

"Little lion, if it's big then don't be like this big brother. He's a playboy." Said Krystal while glancing at Dion who was pouting.

"Yes, pretty sister." Answer the child before running into class. Either he understands the meaning of Krystal's words.

A young teacher came out of the room. His smile expanded when he saw Dion.

"Since when did it come? Sorry I was busy."

"It's okay, Franda. I have something to say."

"To the teacher's room only. It's quieter there."

Dion follows Franda into a room while Krystal is just waiting outside. The girl was overjoyed to see Kindergarten children playing swings, prosotan and various types of games.

"What do you want to say, Dion?"

"I want us to break up, Franda."

"I've been suspicious ever since I saw you coming with that girl. It's just that I didn't expect you to be acting officially like this."

"It's not because of him. She will soon be married to her boyfriend. This has nothing to do with him. I don't think I'm a decent and kind man to you. I hope you get the man who really loves you."

"I get it, Dion. Love cannot be forced. These few months I also feel that our relationship is very bland. If breaking up is the best way, I accept. Forgive my attitude."

"I'm sorry too, Franda. I'm saying goodbye."

Dion then went out to meet Krystal.

"Next.tt.." He surprised Krystal.

"Your business is smooth and unimpeded, right?"

"Yes. And now I'm taking you to the Rose Boutique."

"Roses? Her name is like my favorite flower."

After traveling fifteen minutes, they then arrived at the Rose's place. A girl greeted them very kindly.

"Dion, come in. What is it that you suddenly appear here Eh, wait a minute yes, I made you a drink first."

"No need, Rose. We're just for a second. I have something to tell you."

The rose finally sat next to Dion.

"Your face is serious, I'm afraid. What's up?"

"I want us to break up, Rose. I want to be friends with you not as a lover."

"Are you serious?" Dion nodded.

"If as a friend, do you still want to be my model?" Dion nodded back.

"It's my pleasure to be your model."

"Thank you, Dion. All right, from now on you're my friend and my model."

They shake. Dion then bailed and headed for his car. It turned out that while waiting for Dion, Krystal fell asleep. Dion accidentally didn't wake her and let the girl sleep. But something made Dion anxious. Krystal doesn't look white. The girl was very pale.

"Crystal." Call Dion and touch the girl's hand.

"Geez I fell asleep. Are you done with the rose?"

"Yes. And now my status is single. The rose is the last girl I decide."

"Congratulations."

"Now what's your plan? Are you still mad at your mom and don't want to look for her?"

"I want to go home."

"At least your mom and sister know your dad."

"No need, Dion. I'm sure the people we meet will tell mom and sister."

"If they don't tell you how? Who has the right to tell it you as a family."

"Come on, Dion, I'm confused. I'm tired. I want to go home."

"alright. Let's go home but I hope you'll find your mom and sister. Forget your anger because they're your only family left now."

Krystal was silent at Dion's words.

"How's Krystal? Have you decided? It's been three days."

"I'm sorry, Dion but I haven't been able to decide anything."

"I'm sleep deprived. For three days, I couldn't sleep. I'm still confused at the thought of seeing mom or not."

"Basic stubborn girl! You let yourself be tormented by your selfish nature! Now you go back to your room and sleep!"

"Dion you always scolded me without asking me first. You don't feel the burden I feel."

"I'm sorry, Krystal. But you better take it now."

"alright. I'm going to go to my room and think about whether to see my mom or go back to Bandung."

The next morning at breakfast.

"How are you doing, Krystal? You slept well last night?"

"No. But I've decided to look for mama, Dion."

"really? I'm so glad you chose the right choice. When do you want to see your mom and sister?"

"Today we'll find them. You still have my mama's address, don't you, Dion?"

"still. After breakfast we leave."

The address they will go to is different from the previous addresses. This time they entered a densely populated residential area. Dion's car had to run slowly because the road was narrow while many children were playing and running in the middle of the road.

"Is this really the address, Dion?" Ask Krystal. The girl could not believe what she had just seen.

"Is this really your mother's house? Why is it burning like this?" Krystal started to panic and cry.

Dion embraces Krystal.

"Take it easy, Krystal. Let's ask those people, maybe your mom and sister are okay."

Dion approached a father who was tidying up the debris of a fire.

"Uncle, excuse me. Does uncle know Mother Hilda?"

"Mother Hilda? This house burned last night." Answer the father.

"What about Hilda's mother and her son, Uncle?"

"Mother Hilda was seriously injured, now in hospital. His son Sulli died."

Krystal who heard the father's words immediately hysterically and screamed to her mother and sister.

"I'm sorry Mama, Sister Sulli. If I hadn't been stubborn and searched for you soon, we would have met. Now Sulli's sister is dead.."

"Krystal, calm yourself. We better get to the hospital now."

Dion takes Krystal to the car.

"Dad, big brother, everyone leave me." Krystal collapsed. Dion panicked and headed immediately to the hospital where Krystal's mother was being treated.

Arriving at the hospital, Krystal woke up but her condition was still weak.

"Dion, we're looking for my mama." Speech weak. Dion swept it toward the information section.

"Sir, where's Mother Hilda in the care?" Dion asked as she embraced Krystal.

"Wait a minute." The officer answered and checked the computer in front of him.

"This patient is still in the IGD treatment room because the condition is so severe."

The officer then indicated the location of the room. Dion and Krystal then headed for the room. But they have not been allowed to enter because the patient's condition is still unconscious.

"I want to see you, Dion. I'm afraid I can't see him again.." Krystal's tears kept flowing. Dion gave her handkerchief so that the girl could wipe her tears.

"Better now we pray, Krystal. May your mother come to her senses soon and her condition recover."

Krystal rested her head on Dion's shoulder and fell asleep.

"Mother Hilda's patient family!" Call a nurse.

"Yes, mom. We're his family." Answer Dion.

Dion wakes up Krystal.

"Wake, Krystal. We're called nurses."

Krystal and Dion rushed into the room. They wear special clothes. When he arrived inside and saw the condition of his mother, Krystal almost collapsed and fell. Thank goodness Dion swiftly grabbed him. The girl kept crying.. Slowly Mother Hilda's eyes opened. Krystal can only hold the iron of the bed because it is forbidden to touch the patient.

"Sulli."

Mother Hilda's voice was slow but Krystal could hear her. Krystal was surprised that her mother's eyes were open but did not see her.

"Mama. I'm Krystal, Ma."

"Krystal?" Mother Hilda's tears dripped and then suddenly her chest tightened until Krystal shouted to call the nurse. They both came out of the room.

"It looks like your mama's in shock to meet you, Krystal. We need to be patient, don't overload his mind with news of your father and brother's death. That could shake him.

"Yes, Dion. Just, why can't you see me when her eyes are open?"

"Maybe the fire effect. Your mama's condition hasn't recovered, hopefully she'll see you."

"Maybe you're right, it's all because of my selfishness, if only when you asked me to see my mother and sister Sulli I said yes, I might be able to meet and talk with them now, but because of my own stupidity, now I won't meet Sulli's brother.
