Chapters 6.

The Sunlight Forest was a contested territory. Ever since the fall of the World Tree, the people of the continent had been living in total misery. Humans, barbarians, elves, and succubi must rebuild their cities to fight Night Creatures, and some of these early villages can be found around the Corpse Heap Graveyard, eating the Night Creatures territory.

The Sunshine Forest was a high-level training ground outside the early villages. It was a hotspot for Night Beings and a place for high-level players to grind out experiences.

According to official data, the Sunshine Forest was an area where monster levels ranged from 5 to 12. For players under that requirement, it is not recommended to enter. Even if a player was Level 5, they were advised to form a team first, as the forest was crawled with many dangers that could be fatal.

Skills were unlocked only when players reached Level 10, meaning that physical damage was the only source of DPS [1] at present, even for cloth-based professions such as Priest, Mage, Tactician and Bard. That's why melee-based classes are so popular in early villages now, while Mages and Priests are given cold shoulders.

That being said, once players reached Level 10, entered a tier 2 main city and learned their respective skills, Priest — especially Priest lady hot — would instantly become the most sought after class.

  ……

I cannot form a team because there is nothing suitable for me to join. Technically I do not belong to a true Night Being, nor do I belong to a human alliance. I doubt that the players from the Light faction would be willing to join an ugly little skeleton like me. Therefore, I can only work on solo for now.

Rustle. . .

The sun had just risen when I stepped on the fallen leaves and arrived at the Sunshine Forest. Sunlight peered through the dense foliage and branches, casting an uneven shadow on the ground. Everything seems very peaceful.

I opened the map. The search marker highlighted the Green Praying Mantises spawn area on the map, so I knew the distance was quite close.

I was on full alert when I entered the dense forest, the sword firmly in my thin hands. Not long after that I suddenly felt danger!

“Mendesis..”.

Sharp, green blades cut through the air. Something attacked me!

Puchis!

Even my top-tier defense +9 chest armor cannot stop an attack from penetrating my defense. A large amount of damage emerged from my head — 41!

What man? His attack power is insane!

I looked up and saw a green, armored creature clinging upside down on a short tree branch. It was a terrifying-looking praying mantis with a hard carapace and a pair of front legs that could turn into a sword. This is the monster that is attacking me now!

Mantis Praying Green LV-7 (General)

Hmph, Level 7? No wonder I received so much damage. Even so, I soon realized that it was very slow to move and act despite having impressive offensive power; it took a full four seconds to recover before attacking again, he said, which means killing him alone was no problem at all.

I moved in a perfect arch and arrived at the right side of the praying mantis. Then, I thrust my sword into his body!

31!

The damage done was fine, especially since the defense of the Green Praying Mantis was not insanely high. Otherwise, I would be lucky to break his defenses with this shabby sword.

A Level 7 Monster with less than 300 HP. It shouldn't take long to work on it.

“Desis hiss ..”

The Green Praying Mantis hissed loudly as it slowly turned to face me. Then, he swung his twin in an attempt to catch me with a pinch.

I retreated from his range as smooth as water before moving behind the Green Praying Mantis, performing three consecutive strikes in the process. I've been comfortable going up this level for a long time; the incredible rhythm I've got makes me feel like I'm in that zone. Hehe, after being tormented by a three-second brain delay for over half a year, I felt like a fish that had returned to the water.

I was playing around to waste the Green Praying Mantis attack opportunity while scoring my own hit. The Green Praying Mantis may be two levels above me, but his death is certain.

Within the forest, the spectacle of efficiency and peak leveling tactics were turned on by skeletons and praying mantises. Although there was a difference of two levels, the entire fight felt very easy.

Puchis!

After dozens of attacks and splashes of green blood, the Level 7 Green Praying Mantis finally let the death throes and collapsed to the ground. It dropped 14 Quality Small Magic Stones — the worst magic stones you can get — that might be taken for about 140 copper. That's not much, but raw money is invaluable during the early stages of the game. All the skills you learn at Level 10 cost money, and cannot afford them because someone who is poor will be frustrating to say the least.

When I threw the Little Magic Stone into my bag, I noticed that my experience went up a bit. As I thought, the reward for killing monsters wiser than your level is worth it. After that, I ventured further into the forest and looked for the more isolated Praying Mantis to kill.

After nearly two hours of hunting, I managed to kill eighty-seven Green Praying Mantises and reach Level 7. After dropping 20 points to Strength, my attack power also increased to 22 ~ 37, making killing a Tier 7 Green Praying Mantis extremely easy. Unfortunately, the deeper I go into the forest, the higher their level. In fact, the Level 10 Green Praying Mantis almost shot me once. Having no choice, I retreated to the outer edge of the forest and hunted monsters that were Level 8 or lower. Better safe than sorry .

Heavenblessed's death sentence was extremely harsh. Once a player reached Level 10, each death would result in the loss of a level. A dead player would turn into a soul after they died, and if they wanted to revive their corpse, they could spend one level to do so. They could also live back inside the city, but the cost was three levels. It was a twenty minute trip between here and my initial village, and I had no intention of wasting my time like that.

I checked the time and noted that it was over 4am, but the server was still full of players. Clearly, a ton of players were still rushing despite the clock.

I pushed myself mentally while wandering inside the Sunshine Forest. I can go back and finish my search after I have had enough murders.

While I was grinding, I suddenly heard someone talking from afar. That must be a player!

I immediately picked up the Little Magic Stone on the ground before diving into the thick bushes to hide myself. The only thing visible is my eyes — wait it's not true, I'm skeletal now, so the only thing visible is my eye socket.

There were many rustling sounds, and before long four people walked out of the forest. There were three men and one woman, and they all looked to be around twenty-five years old. The woman was a level 7 Bard, and the three men were a Level 8 magic knight, a Level 7 warrior and a Level 6 tactician. It was the standard powerleveling team composition was perfect, although, of course, tactics and bards were useless before they picked up their skills.

“Three Old, are you sure that Green Praying Mantis King is here?” the soldier asked with obvious dissatisfaction. “We've been killing praying mantises for half an hour. This Tier 6 praying mantis barely provided any experience! ”

The magic knight said calmly, “Bos, I'm sure we have the exact coordinates. Half an hour ago, a murderous friend of mine was a one-shot by the boss here. He didn't want to get back up and get killed again, so he chose to come back to life inside the city. He lost three levels and over two hours as a result. ”

The soldier nodded and replied, “Hmph, I hope you are right. You buy us dinner tomorrow if this turns out to be a waste of time, okay? ”

“Hah, no problem!”

  ……

The group continued to move quickly. Less than half a minute later, the magic knight suddenly raised his hand and said loudly, “Awas, it's here! I know that, hahaha! ”

I saw the boss through the leaves too. The huge Green Praying Mantis shrouded in golden light stood not far in front of me. It swung its twin looking cool and impressive.

I slapped my thighs with regret. If only I had taken a few more steps! I can find this boss first before anyone! Even so, I quickly rejected that stupid idea. Even if I saw the previous boss, fighting it would probably result in death. Besides, I can't even see the boss's level.

A Level 7 warrior could not help but laugh. “It looks like we've reached gold today, brother! This Green Praying Mantis King was a Level 12 F + Rank boss and definitely the strongest boss in the novice village! It will definitely drop a powerful piece of equipment once we kill it! ”

Once again, the magic knight said calmly, “Please take care of my wits with you, boss. This is a Tier 12 beast, and the highest level player among us is only a Tier 8. We haven't even learned the skill. Our chances of killing him are less than 20%! ”

The soldier snorted coldly. “We have to try it even if it turns out to be impossible. It's not my style to meet a strong boss and do nothing. ”

“Then, let's prepare ourselves for battle!”

  ……

After the group clarified their roles, the magic knight launched the first attack while the others supported him.

“It's me!” the magic knight shouted as he headed towards the Green Praying King. He swung his rusty spear and stabbed it in the mandible.

27!

Cold sweat was pouring out of my head. This defense is just ridiculous! That magic knight was Level 8, but his fully powered attack could only tickle the boss!

“Not good, we are not suitable for it!”

The magic knight retreated in shock, but the Green Praying King Mantis caught him by surprise and landed a slash on his head!

201!

It was close, the magic knight was almost a shot by the boss. If his class did not naturally have high HP, he would have already died.

Currently, the highest level players from the villages started to be at Level 9, meaning that these Level 8 magic knights were top-tier professionals compared to the others. But even he was just a noob before this boss.

The magic knight retreated without hesitation after the first attack. The praying mantis moved slowly, so escaping was not impossible.

However, the group barely ran a few meters before a group of players suddenly entered their field of vision. They looked menacing, and their levels ranged between 4 and 7. They are obviously elite, and their IDs all have the prefix “Crazy Naga”. The leader of the group was called “Roaming Dragon”. He was a Level 9 magic knight and the highest level player in the early villages.

Roaming Dragon moved forwards and shouted at the four of them. “The Mad Dragon Union is taking over this place, all unrelated people should be out of our way! Don't wait until it's too late! ”
