Chapters 17. Malaika's Lies

Chapter 17

Grandma Romlah stared softly at Malaika who is now confirming the sitting position. The girl sat leaning on the patient's bed and smiled sweetly at the person who had been taking care of her since childhood.

"Mala, what's the matter? Why are you sick like this?" ask Grandma Romlah in curiosity.

"Maybe because of the erratic weather, Grandma. In addition, the eating schedule is also irregular. So, I'm sick."

Malaika smiled weakly. The look in her eyes and her face was still pale. Granny Romlah heart ached to see the condition of her grandson who tried hard and strong in front of her.

The old woman felt that the granddaughter was working too hard. During this time she became the backbone and paid the debt for the treatment of her husband who ended up dying. Having just finished paying the debt, their house was confiscated by Mr. Juwanto and again Malaika worked hard to make up for the house, despite failing because the money was insufficient when it was due.

"You don't get too hard at work. If working at the company costs you, you should just quit. Grandma doesn't want you to be too tired at work. We only live together and enough to eat twice. So, you should not feel burdened to have to find a lot of money. As long as you are healthy, happy, and always with grandma, that's enough" said Grandma Romlah with teary eyes.

"I'm fine, Grandma. I can still work, if I can't do it anymore, then I'll stop" Malaika replied while holding her grandmother's hand.

Naresh entered the room while bringing food for breakfast. How happy he was when he saw Malaika had opened her eyes and was chatting with Grandma Romlah.

"Malaika, how are you? Where's that sick?" naresh asked as he held his secretary's shoulder.

"I feel better. Maybe yesterday because of the rain so I had a fever" Malaika replied lying.

"Thank God you feel better. Here I buy chicken porridge for you to eat breakfast" said Naresh, taking out three cups of soft-structured food.

"Thank you" Malaika replied.

The doctor went back to check on Malaika's condition and it was much better, so let her go home. When Malaika asked a nurse to pay for medical expenses while in the hospital, Naresh said he had paid all his hospital fees. Of course it makes Malaika not tasty and intend to replace it.

"It's been paid by the company's money, so you don't have to think about it" Naresh said with a charming smile.

Malaika's heart is now racing just because of her boss's smile. He always does that if he smiles at him all this time. But now it feels different.

"Thank you, sir. Hopefully your company can move forward and continue to grow. So that the employees feel happy even though they are sick because they still get attention from the company" Malaika said in a joking tone.

"Don't every employee in our company get health and safety coverage?"

Malaika confirmed that. The girl forgot because she had rarely been sick and had never used the facility from the company.

Not with Naresh. The man looked at Malaika, the feeling of her being so chaotic and erratic when he saw the girl lying helplessly. There was a feeling of fear and pain that he felt from last night until now.

"If you can laugh like this, you are healed. So, grandma does not need to be sad anymore," concluded Naresh and Grandma Romlah also laughed a little.

When Malaika, Grandma Romlah, and Naresh were about to return home, in the parking lot they met Azizah. The woman looked very beautiful and was acting graceful.

Malaika, of course, did not like her presence. Moreover, the way the woman looked at Naresh upset Malaika. If, in the past, there were women who intended to tease his superior, he would give a warning to them, knowing that the man did not like him. However, this time was different for Malaika who could not give a warning to Azizah because this woman was his future wife.

"Would you like to come here?" ask Naresh to Azizah.

"You see the woman" Azizah replied, pointing towards Malaika.

"He's well and he's going home now" Naresh replied, opening his car door for Malaika.

Seen a look of dislike from the face of Azizah for the treatment of Naresh to Malaika. The woman felt that the two had a very close relationship. She was much better than the girl in any way.

Azizah even asked her father to get closer to Naresh. That is why he holds responsibility for the project in cooperation with Naresh's company.

Malaika feels bad for Azizah because she got in Naresh's car. He already felt that he had become a thorn in Naresh's relationship with Azizah.

"It seems like he is angry or upset" Malaika said as she looked towards Naresh.

"Let it go, maybe he's such a person, indeed" the young man said as he turned on the car's engine.

"You can't be like that to a woman" the secretary said.

"Then what should I do? He himself came here. No one asked for it, huh!" Seemed a dislike of the way Naresh spoke.

'Why did Naresh behave like that to Azizah? Aren't they a couple?' (Malaika)

Will Malaika be honest about her feelings for Naresh? Or hold it in your heart? Wait for it to go, yeah!
