Huaaaa!

Thank you for taking the time to read, vote, comment, and like ♥.♥

Maybe for you it's not a big thing. But for a writer it is very valuable.

**Hugs and kisses, all...**

Oh yes, usually I distinguish the dialogue directly or indirectly (phone, voice from afar) by using italics. Or memory too, use italics. But unfortunately when moved here, the format of the writing changed all. So there may be some conversations that leave you confused because there are no markers. Especially in this part that should use a lot of italic letters. But hopefully you still understand the flow ^_^

Happy reading!!

------------------------

It had been almost an hour Ratna refrained from glancing at the mirror before her. Right now she was sitting at the dresser with her eyes tightly closed and letting a makeup artist wrestle with her face and hair.

Although the wedding reception held since this morning was quite simple according to the Keegan family version, but for Ratna is still too luxurious. I don't know how many dresses she has worn since the ceremony of the sacred promise this morning.

And tonight is the highlight of the event that Ratna is so eagerly awaited, that the fatigue that surrounds her is no longer felt.

Ratna's heart skipped a beat again at the thought of tonight. Fingers interlocking on the lap. Feelings of panic, worry, enthusiasm, and happiness blend into one. He was enthusiastic and happy because this moment was coming. But on the other hand a feeling of panic and worry filled his chest.

“You are very tense, Dear.” The soft voice of the makeup artist who was struggling with Ratna's hair sounded. “But this morning you looked fine. Are you worried about your first night?”

Ratna knew the woman was just teasing her. But still the sentence he uttered made Ratna's cheeks embarrassed.

“Not like that.” Shall Ratna without opening her eyes.

The woman sniggered. “Not to be ashamed. Almost all women feel nervous and tense towards their first night. That's reasonable.”

Ratna only smiled slightly in response. Not to dispute or deny.

The room was again filled with silence. I don't know what else the makeup artist did to her hair that took a very long time Ratna said.

Suddenly the room became quiet. It was no longer the silence it had been before. But a strange silence like her was left alone.

Dazedly Ratna raised her eyelids. The look in his eyes immediately interlocked with the gray eyes inside the mirror. She did not have time to admire her dress or makeup that made her look different. His admiration was clearly aimed at the figure who was now standing behind his body in a white tuxedo suit.

Freddy moved closer with a smile full of admiration imprinted on his lips. Freddy's palm stroked one of Ratna's bare shoulders, enjoying her tenderness.

The man bent down and aligned his lips beside Ratna's ears. “My wife is very beautiful.” Whisper with seduce. “I'm so impatient to wait for the party to finish soon.”

Ratna tried to put on an annoyed face but failed because her lips could not help but smile. “What's all that's been on your mind all day, My husband?”

“It's great to hear you call me that, My wife.” Said Freddy with a twinkle in his eye. He could not help but kiss Ratna's bare shoulders.

“Stop! You can ruin my makeup.”

“What is your makeup more important? This husband of yours has the right to ruin it at any time.” Freddy tried to show offended faces.

“You can certainly ruin it, but later.” explains Ratna in a meaningful tone. When realizing that they were only the two in the room, Ratna frowned while glancing around. “Also where is my makeup artist? Did you kick him out?”

“Iya. You're pretty enough like that.” Freddy shrugged his shoulders indifferently. “I'm looking forward to being with my wife before the party starts.”

Ratna gulped when she saw Freddy's expression turn serious. “Is something wrong?”

“Come!” Take Freddy while grabbing Ratna's fingers and lead her to the edge of the bed.

The room that is currently being used as a place for bridal makeup is Ratna's room in Freddy's house. The wedding procession since this morning was held at Freddy—'s house which is now also the home of Ratna— to give a simple impression even though the decorations and dishes can not be said to be simple according to Ratna.

As soon as Ratna sat down, Freddy clasped Ratna's fingers firmly. “How are you feeling now?”

Ratna bit her lips nervously. Without asking he understood which way Freddy was talking.

"Rumpy, worried, happy." said Ratna softly.

"I understand." Freddy stroked the back of Ratna's hand to calm down. "But no matter what happens, you have to remember not to..."

"Do any interaction. Pretend he's not an important person and doesn't know." Ratna completed Freddy's explanation that had been repeated many times since this plan was formed. "I've memorized my role."

"Pronouncing it is easy. But it must be very difficult to carry it out."

Ratna nodded weakly. Just thinking about this much awaited meeting of his had already made his eyes teary. "I'll definitely cry." she replied hoarsely.

"Most brides will cry on their wedding day. So you can cry." Freddy lowered his eyebrows to tempt Ratna.

"I'm serious, but you're kidding." Ratna hit Freddy on the shoulder in annoyance.

Freddy chuckled and pulled Ratna's shoulder closer. A brief kiss landed on Ratna's temple. "It's gonna be a tough family reunion for you." Suddenly Freddy let go of Ratna and stood up while extending a hand. "So, are you ready to party now?"

Ratna took a deep breath a few times and looked up at Freddy with a big smile. As soon as their fingers were tied, Freddy bent down and gave a glimpse of Ratna's lips.

***

The party looked like a party in general. The theme of the party used is the garden party, making the home page of Freddy transformed into a beautiful party location.

Almost no one is wearing a fancy dress made by a famous designer. The dishes served are also traditional.  All of that was done to build the impression of a simple party version of the Keegan family.

Soft music. Some people seem to form small groups. Others spend time dancing or enjoying a meal.

Of course there is nothing strange about all that. But who would have thought that behind the beautiful decorations on the page there are many surveillance cameras. And who would have thought almost all of the invited guests were police personnel and Freddy's confidants.

The attention of the guests suddenly turned to the entrance of the house where the couple who became the king and queen in the party stood. Both of them were wearing all-white clothes, making their existence so prominent because the guests had indeed been urged to wear dark clothes.

Jemari Ratna held tightly to Freddy's arm nervously because he became the center of attention of many people who could be considered foreign to him. But to her own surprise, Ratna could still smile gently with a blazing happy face.

Maybe because the happiness he felt was not engineering. Having a handsome husband who loves her and can be part of a warm family is certainly a dream for Ratna. And his happiness will be more complete with the arrival of someone so important and meaningful. The one who always protected him in silence from afar. The one who always endures suffering for his happiness. Even for a while, Ratna now had a chance to see that person up close.

Brother, Rafka.

Freddy's fingers stroked the back of Ratna's hand on her arm as they walked among the guests. The man smiled gently soothingly. Ratna returned the smile and looked around looking for a figure that might be familiar to her.

“You really didn't invite Mama and Papa.” Bisik Ratna was annoyed. “Even Gabe and Nindy neither.”

“They can foil all plans. I don't want to take any chances.” Freddy whispered, too. “At the same time this is just an engineering party. Was our wedding party two weeks ago still lacking for you?”

Ratna's cheeks blushed at Freddy's teasing tone. Yeah, correct. This entire wedding procession since this morning has been a fabrication. Of course not everyone involved knew about the party's true purpose. Their actual wedding was held two weeks ago on one of the most exotic islands.

Thinking of the party this time made Ratna unable to help but laugh amusedly. Just for the sake of fooling one person, these policemen had to plan a huge engineering involving many people and money.

“Try to say honestly,” suddenly Ratna said making Freddy raise one of his curious eyebrows. “What exactly is the purpose of this party? It is impossible for you to spend a lot of country money just for the reason of incognito duty.” Ratna lowered her tone so that only Freddy could hear.

Freddy grinned ignorantly. “There is absolutely no country money involved. I'm just spending part of my legacy at Keegan Corp.”

“And when else can all the police personnel get together and have fun like this?”

The two couples turned to the person who had been standing near them since when. Ratna knows him as Iptu Noval, one of Freddy's confidants on the force.

“Who gave you permission to interrupt our chat?” Freddy glares resentfully at Iptu Noval.

Iptu Noval just clucked lazily. “Alright, I won't bother you anymore. Potatoes newlyweds.” The man grumbled as he left.

Ratna turned to look at Freddy then hit the man on the shoulder in annoyance. “Why are you talking like that? He's offended by your words.”

“Not at all, My wife. Iptu Noval did intend to go to approach the purple-gown polwan there.” Obviously Freddy while raising his chin to where the person he was referring to was. “He left not because offended.”

Ratna turned her body to look at the direction Freddy was referring to. He was still looking around as his gaze swept over the turnstile bordering the courtyard of the house with the pavement now used as the guest car park. Instantly Ratna's body stiffened with a glued look at someone who had just entered the courtyard.

Luckily Ratna's logic immediately took over before the man realized that Ratna was watching him. With tears floating full of joy and happiness that rose, Ratna turned to face Freddy and drowned her face on the man's shoulder.

“Dia come.” Whisper Ratna with a stifled voice. “Kak Rafka has arrived.”

***

Freddy touched Ratna's chin and raised her face to look at her. Ratna's face and cheeks were wet with tears.

“Luckily your makeup does not fade. I don't want my wife to look like a monkey mask at our wedding.” Freddy muttered while wiping away the tears of Ratna who was rolling back with her thumb.

“You are a real bitch, my husband. I'm sad, but you're insulting me.”grutu Ratna is upset.

Freddy grinned without guilt. He wants to tease Ratna back but something in his wife's sentence catches Freddy's attention. “So that's how you feel now? Saddened? I thought you'd be happy to see your sister back after all these years, Darl.”

“Of course I'm happy. But the feeling of sadness still grips my heart. Even though he was very close to me, I still could not speak and touch him. Even I have to pretend I don't know him.” Ratna sighed sadly. “This meeting becomes more like a dream than reality.”

Freddy pulled Ratna into his arms to drown. “I was expecting this to be very difficult for you. But you have to survive.”

Ratna simply nodded her head which was still leaning against Freddy's chest.

Through the tail of his eyes, Freddy could see how sharply his brother-in-law was staring at him from a distance. Surely the man had not trusted Freddy completely to take care of his dear sister.

Someone came up to them with a glass of champagne in his hand. The expensive drink looks very contrasting when served with traditional food, but strangely even looks unique and tickles curiosity.

“What's a long cuddle on our agenda?” reprimand Toni softly so that others around them do not hear while putting champagne in her hands on Freddy.

Ratna immediately retreated away with a flushed cheek in embarrassment for getting a subtle reprimand from Commander Toni. But his body remained attached to Freddy because the man held Ratna's shoulder with one hand.

“We just got married and this party is our wedding party, if you forget. So we reserve the right to do anything including cuddling and kissing at this party.”

“Two weeks honeymoon still less for you.” Cibir Toni is upset.

“You should have come here with your wife. That way you don't have time to disturb others.”

A pinch landed on Freddy's waist until the man grimaced. He looked at Ratna with a questioning look.

“Why?”

“From yesterday you were acting sucks.”

Suddenly Toni grabbed Ratna's hand and held it tightly. “I'm so sorry for you, Mrs Ratna Keegan. You have to survive every day with this shitty human.”

In a fit of annoyance Freddy takes Toni's hand away from Ratna. “Do not touch my wife!” snarl. “You must have deliberately looked for an opportunity. I'll report it to your wife!”

“Kau—”

Their main target has arrived.

***

The woman moved gracefully. His appearance is flawless. The black dress that dangles to the ankles makes it so elegant and classy.

No wonder several pairs of eyes repeatedly stole a glance at him. Even some did not hide their gazes at the woman.

“Mrs Maya, Rafka and Alan are at the east corner table.” Whisper of the burly man who accompanied the woman named Maya.

“I also saw it.” The woman's law. Then his gaze turned to another place where the two brides were conversing with their guests. The corner of his lips lifted up cynically. “Stay watch over them both.”

The man nodded. But he did not move. He seemed to say something but hesitated.

“What else?” asked the woman without looking at the man beside her.

“I think your arrival here doesn't want to be known. But your appearance is very striking.”

Maya smiled lazily while looking at her bodyguard. “I just don't want Rafka and Alan to know that I'm here. In addition, I even hope that the two brides welcome my arrival. Especially the bride.”

The man beside Maya only frowned in surprise, but chose not to ask further. He includes a new bodyguard so that he does not know clearly the relationship between Rafka and Maya. “Good. I'll keep an eye on Rafka and Alan now.”

Maya just nodded in response. His attention was again poured on a pair of men and women who had just officially become husband and wife.

After the death of her bodyguard, Maya moves closer and closer to the two brides. He deliberately stood within their sight. For a long time she had not seen her daughter in person. Inevitably he admitted that the little girl he hated so much had now become a beautiful woman.

Maya waited long enough for Ratna to see her. If Ratna's memory has not returned, the woman should have looked at her even if only a glimpse of her striking appearance.

And finally the moment that Maya awaited arrived. Ratna's gaze swept over her at a glance, but suddenly her daughter looked back at her. Maya squinted her eyes studying Ratna's facial expressions. Does the woman know herself.

But what Maya got was only a curious look, like the expression of most of the invited guests when looking at her.

There was a feeling of resentment in Maya's heart when she realized Ratna had not remembered herself. The woman should have remembered that Maya could more easily spread terror in her heart. Then as always, Rafka will do anything to protect her beloved sister. But the truth is he's not that lucky right now. Even his wagon room to use Ratna to hold Rafka is getting harder because of Ratna's husband who is a police officer. That man could be a very troublesome obstacle for him.

Maya's attention was shifted from Ratna who was now whispering with her husband while occasionally staring at him. Maybe the woman asked her husband about Maya.

“...just keep this party spending no small amount of money.”

Maya tries to notice the conversation of two athletic men who are only two steps away from her. Maya suspects the two men are a cop partner of Ratna's husband.

“Then why?” said the man who was sipping champagne with pleasure.

“Noval, you didn't pay attention to my words.” The grumpy man who was talking with a serious face. “Try you think, where did Commander Freddy get this much money for his wedding. It is no secret that he has a lot of debt in the office, even on his colleagues.” Suddenly the man looked at his colleague called Noval with a appraisal. “And if it's not wrong, he owes you too.”

Noval looked at the man beside her in annoyance. “Then what does this have to do with you? We all know that commander Freddy is going through a difficult time. Don't tell me you forgot what happened to her parents and sister. From then on, Commander Freddy had to fight alone. We should have helped him. Not like you digging through mistakes.”

“I didn't mean it that way. You're right we should help him. But what is not strange when his condition is in debt, Commander Freddy can still make a wedding party for his wife.”

“Over time I get tired of talking to petty people like you.” Noval then walked away.

The man who had been Noval's interlocutor just clucked lazily, then also passed in the opposite direction to Noval's departure.

Maya watches all of that with an interest that is not hidden from the look in her eyes. For a while the woman was still in her place, trying to steal another talk related to the host.

The corner of Maya's lips lifted. Joy filled him. Other talks about the host are more or less the same. Commander Freddy who is now married to Ratna is in debt.

Apparently Maya did not have to bother looking for a way so that the police did not interfere with her plans related to Rafka and Ratna. Even if Maya can bring the man into her neighborhood, she has another weapon to grip the brothers at once.

***

Freddy slightly pulled Ratna's elbow for the woman to look at him. “Don't look at the woman. He could suspect that you recognized him.” Freddy reminded.

“You don't see his striking appearance so. It would look weird if we didn't notice it.” Ratna.

Freddy glanced at the woman in black dress who was his mother-in-law and then looked back at Ratna. “You're right. But are you okay? I can feel your body stiffen when I return the woman's gaze.” There was a dislike in Freddy's voice.

“Maybe it was my reflexes when I saw the person who had been my nightmare in childhood. The rest I'm fine.”

For a few seconds Freddy was still observing Ratna's face to be sure. “Alright if that's how you feel. The game has started. After this I have to leave you for a while.”

Ratna nodded with a smile on her lips to show that she was fine. Freddy's embrace on his waist grew tighter as they again sank into the conversation around him.

They had already moved among the guests who were chatting in small groups twice. Of course they were aware of the probing gazes from Maya in their every move.

“Commander Freddy, no phone for you.”

A man who looked young and a little taller than Freddy approached them while handing them a smartphone.

“I told you there's no need to be formal with me outside the office.” I don't know how many times Freddy explained to the man who is now a member of the investigation team led himself.

“I'm not comfortable doing it.” The man's heart. He immediately walked away after Freddy received his smartphone.

“Halo,”

That's the one word Freddy just said. Suddenly tension seemed to envelop him. He was seen gulping a few times with the smartphone still stuck to his ear. Every now and then she glanced at Ratna and the people around her to make sure no one heard her talk.

“My wife, I'm going for a minute. It's too noisy here to receive a phone.”

Ratna looked at Freddy then nodded unsuspectingly. As fast as he could, Freddy immediately darted among the crowd looking for a safe enough place to talk.

“Why are you calling now?”

“Don't you tell me to call right away if you receive a misscall from you.”

Freddy stuck his fingers between the hairs. It was obvious that he was very frustrated. “I already told you that now is my wedding day. So please, give me time.”

“And you arbitrarily forbid your sister from coming to your party. Just look at my retaliation!”

“Besok?”

“Tomorrow? You want me to pay you back tomorrow? Are you challenging me, brother? You think I don't dare?”

“Which is possible I got that much money in a short time.”

“Money? You're gonna give me money in exchange for not inviting me?”

“Not so I mean.”

“Then what?”

“Three months. Give me three months to pay my debt.” Freddy's voice was blazing.

“Hah? A debt? Brother, since when do you have debt?”

“Nanti—” Freddy's speech stopped when his sister was heard talking to someone else.

“I also don't know what Freddy's doing now, Pa.”

“If you want tomorrow it doesn't matter. I'll work on.” This time the look of panic on Freddy's face was no longer a fabrication. He did not think Gabriel was with his father.

“Hey brother, Papa wants to talk to you.”

Freddy breathes in frustration—this time it's real—when waiting for his papa to speak.

“So you talked about debt to Gabriel. What debt do you mean?”

“Listen, how about tomorrow I meet you to discuss this further. I can't leave the party any longer.”

“Son, are you really in debt?”

“I'll explain everything tomorrow.”

“Basic brat! What did you do to get into debt, huh? Your father is still able to finance you without you needing to owe me here and there. Anyway tomorrow you have to go home!”

Freddy grimaced while keeping the smartphone away from his ear. He regretted involving Gabriel in his plan. Or maybe he was sorry for not telling me the role Gabriel was supposed to play.

“It looks like you got into some pretty serious trouble on your wedding day.”

That subtle sound pulled Freddy from the daydream. Slowly he turned his head and tried to refrain from jumping happily because his bait had been struck by his game fish.

“Ah, no. Only small problems.” Freddy's trying to dodge. “Welcome to this party and please have fun.”

Freddy was walking past Maya but suddenly she held her arm.

“I'm sorry if I accidentally heard your talk. But I can help you get out of the trouble you're in. Even if you want, tonight I can give you money to pay off your debt.”

Freddy watched Maya with curious glare. “Actually who are you? I'm sure I don't know you, and it looks like my wife does, too. Did you come here without being invited?”

Maya chuckled as she touched her chest to put emphasis on her sentence. “You offended me. I was not invited. But I came with one of the people you invited. Is that a crime, Mr Police?”

Freddy smiled and shook his head slowly. “Of course not. If I may know, who are you?”

“I Maya. For now that's all I can say. The rest depends on your answer. Would you let me help you?” Maya extended her hand.

“Why do you want to help me?”

“Because I also need your help, as a policeman.”

Freddy long enough to look at Maya's outstretched hand and finally he received the helping hand.

Maya smiled broadly. “I hope we can benefit each other in the future, Commander Freddy.”

“I hope so too, Maya.”
