Pamite
37. Critically

"Dok, how's it going? Why hasn't this kid woken up?" A woman who had been hit by anxiety and panic since then was unceasingly asking.

"Critical patient, Mom. We pray together so that the patient can be aware immediately. The clash in the head is quite violent, that's why the patient is critical." The doctor left the room after giving a brief explanation.

Gita, the woman who accidentally bumped into Alif when she just added speed. Not having time to step on the brake makes Gita hit Alif and drag Alif a few meters.

Since then the woman was pacing around in Alif's room. He did not know the identity of this child. He not only thought of this little boy, but also his parents who must be confused looking for his son.

Ayu ran out of words to answer the words of her former mother-in-law. Roughly Ayu grabbed Lasmi's hand and dragged her out of the room.

Miss Lasmi who has not healed properly from the symptoms of an attacking stroke is only able to withstand the pain because it compensates for Ayu's rapid and blind steps. The two men who were there were only dumbstruck to see Ayu who was in disobedience.

"Fucking woman! Where are you taking me? Release him! Women have no ethics. Anang, please mom, why are you just silent to see mom being treated like this?" Ms. Lasmi was unceasingly raving for help.

"What did you say? I'm a woman with no ethics? Then what should I call you? Throw away the child who knows nothing! You can hate me, please don't care. You're a girl, just like me, how would you feel if I also threw away your son?" Ayu was already flabbergasted, he finally shouted in front of the face of Miss Lasmi.

"Aren't you throwing away my son? You left Anang for the man you said was the online taxi driver. Don't feel the most hurt if you hurt others too!" Miss Lasmi is not going to lose. The woman spoke no less loudly while raising her index finger in front of Ayu's face.

"Let it down or I cut off your finger! Do not divert the conversation by discussing what has passed. Your son just let me go, not satisfied you hurt me? Now come with me, show me where you left my son alone!" Ayu again grabbed Miss Lasmi's hand and dragged her out.

The old woman screamed for help from her son. His son only saw both. He himself was confused how, on the one hand he felt sorry to see his mother, but on the other hand what his mother did was a mistake.

"Lake in!" push Ayu and speak in a snapping tone.

"Where are you taking me?"

"Follow me and show me where you dumped my son!"

"No way, if you want to search, then just look for yourself! The boy I threw it on the pedestal." Ms. Lasmi covers away with her hook still limping.

Ayu stepped about to follow the steps of the old woman but, her hand was choked by Jaka. The man nodded slowly. Ayu will again brush off Jaka's hand, but the grip turned out to be quite strong.

With a pleading expression, Ayu looked at Jaka with eyes that were already drained with water.

"We're looking for Alif tomorrow. I promise I'll keep you company, we'll look for each other." Jaka put his hands on both sides of Ayu's shoulders.

"Where can you, Mom? I won't calm down until I meet Alif. She must be scared, hungry, she must be looking for me." Ayu's voice shook again. "I must make the woman accountable for her actions. I have to ask him to find Alif until he can." Ayu will step back.

"Dark! Scaring at me, you're emotion again. I'm sure Alif will be fine. He will be strong, will he not be independent? Don't make your hands and mouth sin by treating your parents like that. I know he's evil, but you're not like him, are you? So now we go home, we rest, we restore the body for tomorrow."

"But...."

"Here you go home now, yes!"

With a forced Ayu nodded her head. With ogah-ogahan also the woman got into the car.

"Without saying a word of promise you should seek him until you can. You're too negligent to keep one child."

After the dawn prayer, Jaka went to the nearest place where Alif left the Lasmi bu. He brought some posters of photos of Alif, he planned to stick the poster in several places.

Jaka was willing to do it, because he could not bear to see Ayu who all the way home last night was just stunned to think about her son. He is also a parent, he knows how Ayu feels who knows her son is not clear whereabouts and circumstances.

After all the posters were attached, Jaka returned home. He and Ayu had agreed to go to the plantation that Anang said. They hope to find Alif there.

"Thank you, yes. You have helped me a lot. You're not interested, I'll pay your losses for today, Mas." Honestly, Ayu felt sad, but on the other hand she also did not know who to ask for help.

"Not to think about it. Go now, yes. It's daytime."

Ayu with her puffy eyes continued to move her mouth slowly. He has been praying with tears since last night. Jaka increasingly could not bear to see the sadness of Ayu.

In the middle of his search, Ayu's mobile phone rang. He saw a row of numbers on his phone screen.

"Yes, hello" said Ayu

"Serious father, where are you now, sir? I went there," said Ayu who made Jaka frown.

"What's wrong?"

"There's information on where Alif is, let's go there, Mas. His father had sent the location, not far from here, this is like it," Ayu explained checking his cellphone.

The two of them rushed away from the garden that was more worthy of being called the pedestal. It only takes three minutes to get to the location.

They went down in a minimalist house without a fence. There was a figure of a man sitting on that tiny, clean terrace. He seemed to approach both.

"Bak Ayu, huh?"

"Ah, yes, sir. I'm the mother of the child in the photo. Where do you see my son, sir?" Even they were still standing on the sidewalk, Ayu just asked without further ado.

"I saw yesterday a bit of a pity that, well about ten o'clock. But my mother's son met in a state of accident and was taken to the same hospital that was hit."

"Accident?" repeat Ayu softly and at the same time his body a little dim until almost fell.

Ayu was like a sudden limp, as if the originally burning spirit was now somehow lost to where. His breathing was cramped by the reality that had just hit him.

"Come, relax, Yu. Sir can we take a seat?" Jaka panicked instantly when he saw Ayu who suddenly felt weak and seemed to have difficulty breathing.

"Please, Mas. I'll get you some water for a second." The man who was roughly forty-eight years old hurriedly entered the house.

"Come, think calmly, please! Don't do this, pity your children. Just take a deep breath and let it out slowly." Jaka was exactly like an impromptu doctor, even he showed himself what he said.
