Not the Ideal Husband

Not the Ideal Husband
Damar Story

The girl remained indifferent, immersed in her world. Wawan who called no he ignored because his ears were covered in earphones that were playing a terrible song. His mind repeats old memories where he and Wawan were once so close but now like strangers.

It is still clear how yesterday afternoon Wawan was indifferent to his arrival. He knew he could no longer hope for Wawan but could they not be like this. Really this is so make the chest tight. Try sincerely but the sentence is only spoken in the mouth not with the heart and deeds.

"Roman?" the girl was stunned when Wawan's hand touched her shoulder.

"Sorry." Wawan immediately distanced his hand from Rahma's shoulder.

Rahma nodded then removed the earphones from the ears. "What's up, Kang?" After a few seconds he turned his face. No. gabe. Wawan charm can no longer be praised before the heart is broken. Yes, he had admitted that feeling in his chest. It's just never had a chance to express.

"You walk alone and it's late afternoon. You put an eraphone in the ear is that not dangerous?"

An afternoon gust of wind carried a swish when the person he once admired asked such a worrying question. "I'm waiting for you to take an afternoon walk. Are you going home yet?"

"Yes, you wanna go out?" Not to give empty hope, this time the work is not a feeling but a sense. Where could he see a woman walking alone while the sun was almost drowned. That's too risky. This attitude applies to anyone, not just Rahma.

"No, Kang." Rahma refused because she felt bad for Sofia. Especially after his confession yesterday. Not intended to hurt but at that time the ego will feel too dominant. On returning home he condemned his outrageous attitude. He shouldn't have said those words to the wife of the man who was currently kind enough to offer her a ride. "I'll wait for you."

"Then his waiting at Mang Aban stall. It's too dangerous for a woman." Wawan circulated his gaze on the left right side of the road filled with bamboo groves.

Along with that Rahma's phone rang, a call came from Pak Lurah's number.

"Where? haven't you been home yet?" asked Mr. Lurah from there sounded alarming.

"Neng msih on the street, so you pick him up, right?" Rahma glanced at Wawan for a moment.

"Why not say from earlier, the business of the father has not been completed at the house of Mr. Camat. Yes, I told Aam to pick you up."

"Aam is still in camp, sir."

"Allah, if there is a passing ojek do not wait for the person you tell to come yes, take the ojek only!"

The call ended after Rahma said yes. The girl looked at Wawan who was still sitting on his motorcycle.

"Where?" ask Wawan.

"God's business is not done yet, I was asked to take the ojek."

"It's been with me." Wagner signaled to go up.

"Go in first, Kang?" asked Rahma when she arrived in front of the house whose fence was the most luxurious of the house around.

"Too late in the afternoon, pity my own wife at home," replied Wawan who was turning the motor and immediately hit the gas without waiting for a thank you from the girl who had disturbed his days.

Rahma stared disappointedly, it should be a moment that a few minutes ago became an opportunity for him to know the reason Wawan away from him at that time. At that time Wawan suddenly moved away without saying why.  Muffling the disappointment Rahma looked up at the dark sky and I looked at the Adzan had been heard from several nearby mosques. He entered the house bringing back a broken heart.

The lights of the house were deliberately not turned on by Sofia. There was discomfort when a few minutes ago she received a photo of Rahma who just got off her husband's motorbike. The roar of Wawan's motorbike was heard and stopped in front of the house. The door of the house is still closed because Sofia has no intention to welcome, even with Wawan who still raises the motor to the terrace.

Wawan ganged up to look at the dark house. He thought that his wife was not at home or was probably still at his parents' house as his wife had said this morning. He opened the door with a spare key that he always carried.

As soon as the door opened, Wawan was surprised when the lights immediately lit making the eyes blink because of the light that suddenly entered the retina.

"Why? surprised?" asked Sofia who was standing near the switch. "Where from? How new is the pelang?" A series of questions presented by Sofia to test the honesty of her husband. "Can't answer?"

Wawan smiled and approached, "it was a finished shopping first from the shop of Pak Haji, this is the proof." Wawan showed a bag of crackles containing cooking ingredients. "Kok tumben, what's wrong?" he asked back while taking off the briefcase he always carried. Then take off the jacket and shirt and then drip the towel. Maghrib's time is only short, then he will run out of time if he answers the wife's question first.

"I need answers not questions" Sofia said. "It's Rahma's path, right?"

The steps that have been dripping towels and ready to take a shower again stop. He turned around to look at his wife's face, "What does it mean that Neng is jealous?"

Thin lips curl a cynical smile, "there is no word of jealousy in my dictionary. I just don't like the way you lie." Sofia stared with her hands folded across her chest.

Wawan shook his head in a sign of objection to what had just come out of his wife's lips. He's not lying. What he said was the truth just incompletely told it.

"I'm not lying. I finished my work straight home but stopped by at Pak Haji's shop first. On the way I saw Rahma walking alone. I asked why he walked alone when it was late afternoon, he said he was waiting to be picked up by Pak Lurah. Cause I can't bear to offer you a ride, but she refused."

"Refused to get to the front of the house." There was a clear tone of annoyance from the way Sofia spoke.

"Eat first, aa haven't finished talking." Wawan swarmed his wife's face until their gazes met. "Aa just-"

"A man who is good at talking is a man who is good at lying. Divorce me now" Sofia refused to listen to the explanation, in principle she did not want to be fooled by men.

Will this work to get them separated?
