Night Police
Chapter 3 The Six

I looked at the female prosecutor because of her extremely weightless question. “If I knew who had a grudge with him this case had long since been solved, and why am I still sitting here talking to you.”

He also reacted a little embarrassedly, and changed his question: "What do you know about the burning case?"

On April 8, a week after the arson case, Nando called me and told me that he had found a suspicious person who was on CCTV.

Nando showed me the video, which happened a few days before the fire.

In the video, a middle-aged man in a red hat and brown coat holds a red plastic bag in his right hand.

CCTV cameras were installed in the corner of the roof of the house and recorded a man walking from the side, then turning in the corner and walking into an alley, and finally disappearing at the end of the alley.

In the video the next few days, the same man walks past the CCTV camera again while carrying a bag. After the incident, the man was never seen again.

I asked Nando, do you have a picture of his face?

Nando said that the other CCTV cameras had been filtered once so there was no footage and no portraits of the man. Nando went to the neighborhood committee, the property owner, and the family head of several houses for identification of the person, all speculating that the man was not a resident there.

I asked why the CCTV camera could record it?

He said it was his own camera.

The camera that captured the middle-aged man was not a monitoring system installed by the Public Security Bureau, but a hidden probe camera installed by Nando himself a few months ago caught a group of thieves stealing an electric car.

When Nando installed this camera, he made a mistake because he felt he just wanted to monitor the part of the blind spot that other surveillance cameras could not reach. He only realized that his monitoring camera could only monitor one area of the blind spot after he had installed it.

This blind spot is very useful because it can record the middle-aged man, if he is recorded by his camera Nando means he must avoid all other monitoring cameras around him.

“You mean, he deliberately avoided the monitoring camera?” The expression of the female prosecutor became serious.

I nodded, that's all I can explain for now.

“Keep after that what did you guys find?” the female prosecutor continued to ask while Director Harto who was sitting next to her looked slightly dissatisfied, and turned to investigate: "Then who, whose case are you investigating?"

The female prosecutor looked a little awkward: "Why are you taking part in the Doni investigation? It's not your responsibility, what's your motive?"

“My job?”I smiled, “I'm a cop, it's not natural that I should be involved in a case?”

The female prosecutor immediately confirmed that her intentions were not like that, as the case was not in my control, so why should I participate in the investigation process?

Well then, you should ask Sonic, I follow his rules and here we hear orders from superiors to carry out duties.

The female prosecutor saw Sonic nodding.

“Agus, let me ask you, where were you when Doni's accident happened?” Seeing the subordinates he did not ask anymore, Director Harto could no longer bear to ask me directly anymore.

I said because it was raining that night so I just slept at home, maybe I was still out for a walk.

I told you because I'm alone, so only a mattress can prove it.

Laughing makes me want to laugh too.

Director Harto silenced me with a serious face and asked me where I was the day after the incident?

I thought for a moment and said that Sergio called me to the traffic police station because of Doni's accident.

I rushed to the traffic police post and when Sergio gave me a stack of technical data, he said his technical colleagues used some technique to get some phone number data used at the time of the incident.

But when Doni gets into an accident, his 10 closest phone number groups are all ruled out of the charges as suspects.

I was very surprised because the perpetrator who hit Doni couldn't possibly not have brought a cell phone.

Sergio said that the technical parameters would not fool people, unless Doni had something not delivered clearly and he told me to go ask Doni the next day.

The next day, Doni had another incident. I was also suspended by Sonic when I was at the scene of Doni's death because Doni reported on the bribe.

"Good, did Doni's death really have nothing to do with you?"

Director Harto's questions always make me angry. I took a deep breath and said if he was alive then I wouldn't get into this problem.

"But before Doni died, you told a man nicknamed 'Si Six' to follow Doni. This man is listed as a drug addict. How do you explain it?" Director Harto's tone of voice sounded so proud. He really thought that he had subdued me.

I was stunned for a moment and started glancing towards Sonic asking for clues.

Sonic finally said: "Si Six is the special investigator Agus has discovered, and her identity needs to be kept secret."

Since Director Harto can't accept it so for this sake, I have to reveal it.

Doni's car accident occurred on Lotus Road, Oro District. At that time, he was in a hurry to buy drugs. He said the drug dealer was dubbed the "Ninth Ghost".

Because Doni only knew that name, so I told Si six to find out about this Ninth Ghost but found out that the Ninth Ghost had died five years ago.

At that moment, I was astonished to hear it, when Si Six gave the real name of the Ninth Ghost, I immediately searched the public police platform and found out that it was true that he had died five years ago of a heroin overdose.

Why did Doni lie to me?

So in order to find out the truth, I asked Six to follow Doni secretly.

“What information did the Six give you?” Director Harto asked.

Doni rarely went out, he only went twice to Musi River Park, and several times he went to the riverbank and did nothing.
