Challenged to Try

"Why is your face so grim?" ron asked Dimas when they had finished lunch.

"No boss, I'm fine" replied Dimas trying to be as normal as possible.

"Don't lie to me, I know your character!" Ron was fishing.

"It seems like my hope of having the girl I love is dashed!" Dimas threw himself on his couch.

"Why is that?" Ron stared hard at Dimas.

"He's getting married soon" Dimas said.

"Did he reject you?" Ron tried not to laugh.

"No, he didn't reject me, even I haven't said anything to him" Dimas said listlessly.

"Are you stupid or what? you like her, but don't say anything, even you give up and let her marry someone else she doesn't necessarily like? maybe the girl actually likes you, but because you never said it then she thinks you don't like it and then chooses to marry someone else? you stupid man!" Ron was completely astonished by Dimas' cowardly attitude.

"He's too perfect boss, I don't believe in him, he deserves more than me!" Dimas is not confident.

"Who do you think you are, huh? how do you know if you don't deserve him? don't be a fool, fight for something you deserve!" this time Ron earnestly supports Dimas chasing Gaby, because for him Dimas is too cowardly to face the fact that Gaby is the son of his big boss.

"But my guts are too small a boss, there will be a lot of things at stake for this relationship, not only about me and him, but also the reputation of his family!" Dimas breathed heavily.

Mike clucked in disbelief as he listened to the conversation Ron and Dimas had just had in Dimas' room via a phone call. They both deliberately turned on their phones so that Mike could connect online and listen to all the contents of Dimas' heart without the man's knowledge.

"I don't think he's a coward, he's just realistic, considering you're a big boss, while he's just your guy who, if you look at it from any point of view, would seem to be way below your position!" Ron was trying to look at it from Dimas's point of view.

"But at least he can try first right before giving up?" Mike still doesn't think.

"What example?" Mike doesn't understand.

"For example, he will lose the career that he has struggled to start from below if it turns out you do not approve of them. Maybe he's also afraid that your relationship with Gaby will be strained if it turns out Gaby accepts it but you don't approve of it. I think he's thinking about a lot of things rather than being selfish about following his own heart!" ron was very smart this time.

"Listen, I don't want to side with him, but I think Dimas is a good guy, it's gonna be really hard to get a daughter-in-law as good as him, even when you get a rich one!" Ron was really amazingly wise this time.
