Chapter 8

The next day, Aya and Bryan meet Hendra's father at the hospital.

Before entering her father's nursery, Aya walks ahead of Bryan. But suddenly Bryan grabbed Aya's hand and made Aya surprised.

Aya looked at Bryan with a question.

"Don't think about it, it's part of acting. Shouldn't we be acting in front of your father?." said Bryan.

Aya seemed to think about Bryan's words, then she let Bryan hold her hand into her father's nursery.

"Good morning dad," Aya greeted with a smile.

Bryan smiled and looked at his father-in-law.

Aya was glued to see the smile from her husband, because she had never seen Bryan smile that warm.

"Good morning dad, forgive me for looking at you" Bryan said.

Hendra smiled at the arrival of his daughter and daughter-in-law. Having Hendra see his son-in-law holding his daughter's hand made him believe that his daughter-in-law loved him.

"It's okay, son, Aya said yesterday You're having a morning meeting. I cursed him."

Still with the hand that held Aya's hand, the two also walked closer to Hendra.

Aya slowly releases Bryan's hand, seeing Hendra trying to sit down. He helped his father. He sat down next to his father.

Bryan followed Aya sitting beside him and again clasped his wife's tiny hand.

"Father glad you love your daughter so much. I thought you guys weren't happy about this marriage. Because Aya didn't approve of it." Hendra looked at his daughter and daughter-in-law with a smile.

"Is it true, yeah?, it's because this father's daughter doesn't know me yet. Now look, he doesn't want to get far from me," Bryan looked at Aya with both eyebrows raised.

"Did he say I didn't want to get away from him?. Wasn't he the one who always stuck?!," Aya said in his heart while holding back his regret.

"Dad was happy to see him, son. Please take care of this only father's daughter, son. From childhood, he never felt happiness. I thank you and your Papa for bringing happiness to this father's daughter." Said Hendra who looked so sad.

"Father take it easy, as long as I'm still breathing, then your daughter will never lack affection. Because I love my dad's daughter so much" Bryan said.

Makes Aya look at him. "He was very passionate about his acting. We hate each other so much. I'm sorry you had to lie to you" Aya said in her heart with guilt.

A warm conversation followed that morning and a laugh came out of the mouths of Bryan and Hendra's father.

Both of them looked so very familiar, making Aya feel happy because her husband had completely kept his words.

"Dad, forgive me. I have to go to the office now, because there's an important meeting soon." Bryan.

"Okay son, I will always pray for your happiness."

Bryan smiled and nodded his head, then he clasped Aya's hand again and they came out of Hendra's nursery after saying goodbye.

"Take off?" said Aya trying to release her husband's hand after being outside.

"You think I'm gonna linger holding your hand?!. Now you have to keep your word You remember?" Bryan said with a grin.

But along with that, Bryan's phone rang making the owner immediately lift it.

Bryan picked up the phone by moving away from Aya.

"Haih.., my bad luck will come soon," said Aya lethargic.

"All right"

"You'll just take a taxi home" Bryan said, leaving Aya there.

"Based on the accursed husband, I curse you to be an ant!." Bump Aya with his regret.

Then he himself remembered that he also had to go to the office to return to work. He asked permission from his father-in-law and Bryan. Bagaskara agreed, while Bryan only said "hemmm".

Arriving at the office, Aya already misses her job very much. Especially to his friend Adrian.

Aya was so disappointed when she asked HRD, because Adrian had been on leave for almost a week.

Aya also finally continued her work that had piled up during her leave.

"A lot of my work, if only Adrian was here, he would help me, for sure" said Aya so lethargic.

"Did you miss me?" said the voice of someone so familiar in Aya's ear.

Aya turned to the voice, a smile etched on her face. "Iyan, are you back?. Thank goodness." Aya said happily.

"Yes, because I miss you Ay," he said staring at the face of the girl who had stolen his heart.

"I miss you too Iyan, watch my work pile up, you want to help me?," Aya blinked her eyes making Adrian roll her eyeballs. He knew what Aya meant.

"Yes-yes I'll help you with your work, but it's all in return."

"What?."

"Calm down, I just asked for a meatball at the end of the road there only Ay," said Adrian and immediately diyakan by Aya.

After all Aya's work with help by Adrian is almost done. The clock shows the clock to go home from work. Eventually, Aya had to put her job back on hold.

They also went home together, before they stopped by the meatball seller they were going to come earlier.

After enjoying the meatballs that make the stomach both feel full. Adrian immediately drove Aya home.

But Aya tells Adrian to drop him off in a small alley. Aya reasoned that he rented a boarding house near there.

"Are you really down here, Ay?" asked Adrian.

"Yes Iyan, didn't I just say that I'm now renting a hostel in the alley. Now you go home, thanks for the ride," said Aya trying to make Adrian leave immediately.

Aya does not want Adrian to know that he now lives in a luxurious house owned by Mr. Bagaskara. Aya also does not want Adrian to know that he is married to Bryan Askara. Surely Adrian will even laugh at him because he thinks Aya is just boasting.

"Well, then how about tomorrow I pick you up again here Ay?."

"Don't!," Aya said quickly making Adrian frown.

"I mean, I don't want to trouble you Iyan. Isn't your house opposite?. We better meet at the office alone," Aya said later with a smile that was so strange.

"Alright, then I go home first Ay," said Adrian so flat. Then the car left Aya who was surprised by Adrian's attitude which suddenly became flat expression.

"Is he angry?," said Aya with astonishment. Then he immediately ordered a taxi from his mobile app.
