New Directions
Arkana and Maher continue to try to gather clues about Alifa's whereabouts. They also asked Farid and Adam for help. However, Arkana and Maher did not tell them all the truth. The two only said they were looking for relatives who had been out of contact since they were children.
Every day when there is free time, the four of them will go out boarding school. They are looking for information about all the migrants in the village around the pesantren. Especially those from Yogyakarta. From that data they will start to find out the whereabouts of Alifa. They work together, although there are many entrants who are already on their list. But they do not give up on achieving their goals. They always believe that effort will never betray results.
Of the many names that they have recorded, it turns out there are two family names that had surprised them. Both were the Atmaja and Yudo families. Where the Atmaja family is the father name of Farah, while Yudo is the father name of Jihan. They are also recorded as coming from the city of yogya. Even the year of their move was the same. It had confused them, whether this is a coincidence or indeed a scenario that has been prepared by God as a guide.
“This is really, Farah and Jihan are also immigrants from yogya?” ask Arkana to Farid and Adam. From them, the data was obtained.
“From what we got that's the truth Arka. Even we were shocked. We thought they were real people here.” Farid answered with an explanation.
“That is even more surprising, even the year of their arrival is the same. Yes, although we don't know the truth either. But that's the information we got from some of the residents and their neighbors.” Adam added.
“Could this be a coincidence?” arkana murmured that something was strange.
“We must find out the truth first Arka, then we can conclude. Better now we see select and group again the data that has been collected. After that tomorrow we come to the most possible as Alifa.” Maher tried to give advice. Actually he also felt that there was an oddity, but he did not want to
making assumptions without proof.
“True what Maher said, by doing the grouping will make it easier for us. We just need to find more information about the family that is most likely the person you are looking for.” Sahut Farid agrees to Maher's advice.
“Ya already then directly we just do.” Answer Arkana put the pen on a pile of paper. Then they immediately did what Maher suggested.
As per the instructions of Arkana and Maher, they began to sort out. They put the family first, who had a daughter who was the same age as Alifa or one year younger than Arkana. They also know their move. Of the many surnames in their records, now only 5 families remain. Even more surprising, the family of Farah and Jihan were included in the 5 families.
Arkana and Maher continued to stare at the paper until the Arkana cell phone rings distracted them. The name Afshin was on the phone screen. Arkana quickly connected the call. He was convinced that Afshin would give them important information. Either about their families or about the state of the pesantren.
“Assalamualaikum kak Afshin, what's up Kak?” sapa Arkana immediately asked Afshin's purpose on the phone.
“Waalaikum greetings. You guys aren't busy? Brother doesn't interfere with your time, does he?” answer Afshin make sure.
“Of course not Brother. How's the big brother and all the family? The pesantren state is fine, right? Mbah kung and Mbah Ti are healthy right?” Arkana immediately charged Afshin with questions.
“Wow...wow. We are all well, Mbah Kung and Mbah Ti are also healthy. Pesantren also in good condition.” Afshin answered them one by one briefly.
“Alhamdulillah if everything is good.” Sahut Arkana gives thanks.
“You guys are fine too right there? Remember your main task is to learn. While the search mission should not interfere with your learning.” Afshin gives advice as the oldest of their dianatra.
“Siap Kak, brother rest easy we are here always good.” Answer Arkana.
“O yes brother almost forgot, sister have additional information for you guys. She accidentally met her ex-father's driver, Alifa. According to the information he knew, most likely the Alifa family lived in the vicinity of Suko District. If not wrong Kiyai Hamid pesantren is in the subdistrict right?” Afshin began to say his primary purpose was to call Arkana.
“Aamiin Yes Robbal’alamin. Yes, then you guys rest first it's night. Remember tomorrow dawn is your monthly schedule deposit same Abi.” Afshin ended their conversation while reminding them of their mandatory schedules.
“Good Brother, brother also rest do not be too busy with the bow arrows. Or there will be no man who dares to approach sister later.” Arkana just teased Afshin.
“Iiss…. What are you talking about. Brother closed first than you talk more and more slack. Assalamualaikum.” Sambar Afshin immediately ended their conversation.
“Waalaikum greetings.” Arkana replied happily.
“You love to tease Brother Afshin.” The protest of Maher looked at Arkana who was still chuckling. Arkana was very happy to tease Afshin. Arkana was just grimly receiving protests from Maher.
Given the time that was getting late, Maher asked Adam and Farid to return to their room. Don't forget to thank them for their help today. Maher also asked Arkana to get some rest. Just like what Afshin said on the phone, Maher also reminded Arkana of their schedule at dawn. Arkana obediently followed the orders of her brother. He first cleaned his body before laying it on his favorite mattress.
Instead of taking a break with Arkana, Maher sat glued to the paper. Paper where written the names of 5 families that may be Alifa family. Maher feels their goal is getting closer. He was also certain that they would soon find Alifa. Especially after getting additional information from Afshi earlier, Maher became more and more convinced. Now he just needs to ascertain the truth of the 5 families.
“We will start from these three families first. As for Farah and Jihan I'll take care of her later. Other than knowing them already, I think finding out the truth directly from them would be easier. As for these three families, we don't know anything about them yet. So it will take more time and proof.” Maher was still staring at the paper. Then he took a deep breath, put down the paper and walked towards his bed.
Maher laid down his body next to Arkana. He looked at the ceiling of the room, smiling happily. Somehow his heart felt happy when it knew it would soon find Alifa. A moment passed the tiny face of little Alifa. He was still very familiar with how the sweet smile was created on that tiny face. It was so sweet and beautiful, those were the two words she could use to describe Alifa's smile at that moment.
“O yes I remember, I have a key clue to find Alifa. It should still be with Alifa by now. I wish I could recognize him from that thing.” Maher muttered with a smile growing wider. He remembered if he had given something to little Alifa. He also believed that later the object would also bring them together and that would make it easier to recognize Alifa.
