Eps. 57 'Me2Yu': Arnold's Story

Bandung is the largest metropolitan city in West Java Province, as well as being the capital of the province. The romance of the city of Bandung, from the time of Dutch occupation is widely known. Like a beautiful girl who is cut. For Arnold, it is not just a matter of Bandung as the name of the city or romantic there, but as a philosophy of his life.

Arnold is from Bandung. She has parents and a sister who is at odds at 6 years old. Arnold, who often bullies and pranks him, is like playing around because it's Arnold's meeting with him, making him think of his little sister. Arnold had explained to Hanna that she thought of her as a sister. Long ago.

Born, Siska as his younger sister. It happened to the Arnold family back then. Siska went missing as a baby, she was kidnapped by a maid in our house. It made her parents sad Arnold too. We've been trying to find Siska for years. Eventually the police managed to find the abuser. But, as if he really could not be spoken to, he went insane. It made us even more angry at him for losing a daughter and sister to Arnold.

At the age of 14, his mother died, followed by his father due to illness when Arnold entered High School. Arnold was so sad, everyone left him. He gets a glimmer of hope in his missing sister. I wish his sister was alive. Searching for the information that his father had gathered back then, and ending up at this Rainbow Orphanage. Maybe it could be that his sister was brought here and taken care of by the orphanage.

Arnold met the mother of the parlour, Malini. A glimmer of hope is met when Arnold shows a photo of Siska despite being a baby. The photo shows the sister wearing a necklace bearing her name, Siska. And the housewife recognized him. Arnold breathed a sigh of relief after hearing it. He was so excited to meet his sister. But, the harsh reality is struck again by Arnold that Siska has been adopted by a family, a soldier.

Not only that, he visited the address of the family who adopted his sister. But losing fast, the family had already moved. No one knows where to move. After graduating high school, Arnold could no longer live in the house his parents left behind because he had to sell it, he moved to Jakarta and lived with his grandfather there.

For years he sought Siska, his sister. And it's been a long time since Arnold appeared in this city of Bandung. Now she's back because she got information about her sister here. Arnold visited a house.

"Puncheon.. Excuse um. Assalamu'alaikum."

The old woman came out of the door of the house that was already open. "Mualliksalam." After looking at each other, Arnold smiled as he shook hands with her. "Punteun, bade ka sahanya?"

They also sat on the chairs in the courtyard of this house.

"Come, Mom. I came here to see Mr Suprianto, his father is there?"

"Father Suprianto.. my employer?" tanyakanya. Arnold's not sure, with that. "Abdi teh henteu damel deui and Pak Suprianto sahaus pak.. sareng kulawargana ngalih ti Bandung."

A little scratched Arnold's hope. "I'm here to find my adopted sister, her name is Siska."

"Non Siska?" Mother was dumbfounded. "So, Non Siska tea is still a rowdy family."

"My sister's been missing since she was a baby, Mom."

Arnold left the house on his Cross motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle slowly his mind thought about what the mother had said earlier. The bike stopped, Arnold pulled his helmet out of his jacket pocket.

Turns out there were some missed calls from Zeki and Mia. Arnold decided to call him first. Fear of something important happening.

📞 "Eh bang..." Zeki's voice boomed in Arnold's eardrum.

"What's wrong?"

"It's bang. We took my brother to Bogor. We are taught the same with Hanna's friends, all holidays too. But, since brother can't be contacted, so we leave first. We'll pause again nyampe. If you want, you're coming here."

"Gue's still in Bandung."

"In Bandung? Why bang?"

"There's business" Arnold bargained.

"Yaa gini aja if you want to come, followed aja bang. Hanna's friends on well make us."

Behind that Arnold smiled faintly. "I'll tell you again."

"Okay bang."

The call ended, Arnold fell silent afterwards. He thought of something.
