"Welcome, Mr. Makripudin."
A sound echoed from the direction of the banyan tree. People simultaneously directed their gaze towards the banyan tree. Mr. Mas'ud's eyes glanced here and there. He came closer and put his body on the body of Mr. Makripudin. Mr. Makripudin moved his hand gesturing for Mr. Mas'ud to remain calm. The atmosphere within the forest suddenly became gripping. Slender. No sound was heard in the forest. Even people don't seem to want to hear their breath. Mr. Mas'ud's body trembled violently when he saw the roots of the banyan tree in front of him moving slowly upward and showed the figure of Adinullah sitting cross-legged against the background of the statue with a head shaped like a fire. Two flaming red wings added a haunted impression to the statue. The four-meter-tall statue with standing position and with both hands raised to shoulder height, looks scary with two large eyeballs staring towards the front. Like swallowing everything in front of him. The people's eyes were now fixed on Adinullah who was still closing his eyes. Mr. Makripudin lowered his head. Prayers began to be recited.
Adinullah opened his eyes and stared at Mr. Makripudin.
"Welcome to our place, Mr. Makripudin. Please sit down" said Adinullah. Mr. Makripudin raised his head. He looks calm. Not one bit he looks tense, let alone afraid as seen by Mas'ud. Mr. Makripudin shook his head.
"No, Mr. Adin. We're here only," replied Mr. Makripudin.
"Sir Makripudin! you have no respect for the Sheikh. Do you not see the karomah that the sheikh shows? The roots of the tree are subject to him, but why just obey the Sheikh to sit you do not want" said Mr. Satri. Mr. Makripudin smiled. He looked calmly at Mr. Satri.
"Sorry, Mr. Satri. I am not a follower of your Sheikh. I am not at all surprised by any miracle that my teacher showed me. Let alone that, Mr. Adin can fly and walk on water, I still consider it all from the devil, as long as Mr. Adin does not do sharia. I won't be fooled, Mr. Satri." Mr. Makripudin smiled faintly. He turned his eyes towards the statue.
"Especially when I saw the statue. I don't need to doubt your misdeeds. You have been shirked" said Mr. Makripudin. Adinullah raised one of his hands when he saw Mr. Satri and the people behind him came forward to approach Mr. Makripudin. Adinullah stared at Mr. Makripudin.
"This statue is a will, Mr. Makripudin. Only the intermediary, the connector to the presence of the Creator," said Adinullah. Mr. Makripudin smiled faintly.
"There's nothing, Mr. Adin. The statue remains a symbol of confusion. That's not the way, Mr. Adin. There is a commandment of prayer as the actual relationship between a servant and his Lord. We are only commanded to bow down to the Creator of the Universe, Allah SWT. What Mr. Adin is doing is something that the polytheists have done before. You've heard it yourself from Master Teacher, Mr. Adin. Don't make it up for your perverted purpose" explained Mr. Makripudin at length. He shook his head again while turning his eyes towards Mr. Satri and the people behind him.
"I feel sorry for Mr. Satri and the brothers. Why don't you find the right teacher. Astarghfirullah's. What have you done, Mr. Adin," said Mr. Makripudin.
"Don't think of us as if we were fools, Mr. Makripudin," replied Mr. Satri. His look looks sharp. Again Adinullah raised his hand signalling for Mr. Satri to retreat.
Adinullah then got up and stood straight facing Mr. Makripudin.
"Well, what difference does it make to you to use the medium of the spirits of the pious to connect with God? Isn't the tawassul you guys did the same as I did this?" Adinullah.
Mr. Makripudin sighed with a faint smile. He stepped forward a few steps.
"That's a different thing, Mr. Adin." Mr. Makripudin shook his head. He looked back and forth like he was looking for something. A wooden branch lying on the ground was taken away. He then cleaned the leaves and branches on the branch. He then took out a machete from behind his shirt and cut the wooden branch along the side.
"Well, I'll give Mr. Adin a picture. Think of this wood as a rifle" said Mr. Makripudin, holding the wooden branch and holding it like a man holding a rifle and aiming it at Adinullah.
"Wood or suppose this rifle I'm holding is a middleman. What I'm aiming for isn't this rifle, it's the bird. But when aiming at a bird, what I saw was not the bird, but the tip of the rifle. Or another example, I want to meet a king. Of course to meet a king is not as easy as we meet our friends. We need people close to the king so we can quickly connect with the King.
"Keep what a difference, Mr. Makripudin." Adinullah smiled. All his followers smiled.
"I just want to show my followers the real thing. Not something that can not be seen," continued Adinullah.
"Astaghfirullah.Obviously different, Mr. Adin. Mr. Adin considers God to be in the statue. So it's nonsense that the statue is an intermediary. Mr. Adin and the people of Mr. Adin must have worshipped the statue. We do not make those who are close to God our gods. We only use their closeness as an intermediary so that we get their barokah at Allah's side" replied Mr. Makripudin. Adinullah has not stopped smiling.
"Just the same, Mr. Makripudin. Now come, sit down if you want to prove what you wanted to prove three days ago,"
Mr. Makripudin sighed and turned towards Mr. Mas'ud. Mr. Makripudin nodded his head.
"We wanted to sit, but not in front of the statue. We don't want it to be a symbol of our submission,"
"Then sit where you stand,"
Mr. Makripudin then invited Mr. Mas'ud to sit down. Mr. Satri, who was still standing, gestured to the people behind him to sit down when he saw Adinullah sitting in his chair.
"Please, Mr. Makripudin. Tell me what book you want to hear. I'll read it and explain it to you. Let Mr. Makripudin know that I am a chosen person who is granted Laduni knowledge by God," said Adinullah.
"Please. I want to see what books Mr. Adin knows" replied Mr. Makripudin. Adinullah nodded. He then got up and stepped towards the statue. He bowed his body and performed prayers, after which he sat down cross-legged to the statue. For a moment, Adinullah closed his eyes with a mouth that was struggling to read something. Mr. Makripudin just smiled shaking his head.
After for some time Adinullah Khusyu' in front of his statue, he opened his eyes and turned his sitting position facing Pak Makripudin and Pak Mas'ud.
"Before I read some books, you here will listen to what our beloved will say about Master Alamsyah Hasbi." Adinullah stood up and went back to face his statue. He bowed his body three times.
"O Lord our God. Tell your loyal followers and those who do not trust you. Tell them about Master Alamsyah Hasbi," Adinullah said in a soft voice but could still be heard by the people behind him.
Suddenly the statue trembled then moved increasingly faster to the left and to the right. Mr. Satri and the people behind him stood up. They looked astonished to see the moving statue and now almost invisible because of the smoke that suddenly came out of his mouth and both eyes.
