Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi turned his head towards Faiz who was sitting cross-legged bowing his head. He understood very well what Mr. Mas'ud ordered. In front of Master Teacher, he must not play around. He seemed busy getting rid of the remnants of the soil on his toes.
Master Alamsyah Hasbi frowned.
"Isn't he Adinullah's son?" asked Master Alamsyah Hasbi while looking at Mr. Mas'ud. Mr. Mas'ud smiled and nodded his head.
"Faiz, let's greet Master" said Mr. Mas'ud. Faiz raised his face and looked at Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi. He returned to his face. Seeing that, Mr. Mas'ud shifted his body closer towards Faiz.
"Leave it, Mr. Mas'ud. He is still ashamed," said Master Alamsyah Hasbi.
A santriwati was seen prancing away from the puddle with an umbrella, seen towards the gazebo where Mr. Guru Alamsyah Hasbi and Mr. Mas'ud sat. When he had arrived in front of Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi, he immediately sat down below waiting for Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi's orders.
"Pour lots of water for the preparation of guests who may come tonight. But make us two coffees first. If there's still milk in the kitchen, make it for this sister" said Mr. Guru Alamsyah Hasbi.
"Enggeh, Master Teacher." Santriwati bowed her back in salute before going towards the kitchen.
"By the way, why is this boy with Mr Mas'ud?" asked Master Alamsyah Hasbi to turn his gaze back towards Faiz.
"So, when I was about to leave to pick up fertilizer in the city, suddenly Johani ma'am came. He sends his greetings to Master. He said, for a while, his son let him be entrusted to study first in the pesantren. Eee..," Mr. Mas'ud stopped the conversation. He looked towards Faiz. He was afraid that what he would say about his father to Master Alamsyah Hasbi was heard by him.
"Is it okay for this child to hear it, Master Teacher?" ask Mr. Mas'ud.
"It's okay. He did not understand yet" said Master Alamsyah Hasbi. He then took out a pack of cigarettes from the roll. A cigarette was removed from it. Master Guru Alamsyah Hasbi felt the t-shirt he was wearing.
"Gosh, the match was left on top," said Master Alamsyah Hasbi.
Mr. Mas'ud swiftly took a match from his shirt pocket and gave it to Master Alamsyah Hasbi. Cigarette smoke began to spread on the ceiling of the gazebo.
"Continue the story, Mr. Mas'ud," said Master Alamsyah Hasbi.
Mr. Mas'ud fixed his sitting position. Because he felt that what he was going to say was very important, also because of the sound of heavy rain, he struck closer to Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi.
"Sir Adin is getting worse, Master Teacher. Mr. Adin is acting strangely. In fact, Ms. Johani expected Master to come. Don't be late." Mas'ud was silent. He noticed the fine hairs on his arm standing up. Sometimes he looks horrified. He still remembers two strange events he saw related to Adinullah.
Mr. Guru Alamsyah Hasbi again smoked a cigarette on his black lips. The smoke blew him to the side. Fear of the wind carried him to Faiz's nose.
Master Alamsyah Hasbi let out a long sigh.
"Adinullah would not dare to harm Johani. God willing, he is safe as long as he keeps refuge with Allah with the practice I have given." Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi again let out a long sigh.
"There will be a great slander in the south. Only those who are strong in faith will be saved," continued Master Alamsyah Hasbi. Shortly after, three students were seen carrying flasks and a few glasses to the gazebo. Two coffees and one milk that has been brewed, each placed in front of Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi, Mr. Mas'ud and Faiz.
"Keep; what are our actions, Master Teacher?" said Mr. Mas'ud after the santri left.
"For a while we have to wait. Waiting for guidance from God. This is the great slander that our Master, Master Maawalli Maolana Ibrahim, once signaled. Pearls become trash and vice versa, garbage becomes pearls" said Master Alamsyah Hasbi. The face of Master Alamsyah Hasbi who suddenly turned restless, made Mr. Mas'ud worried.
"What do we have to do to survive, Master Teacher?" said Mr. Mas'ud worried. Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi revealed his composure with a slight smile on his lips.
"Stay firm in holding the existing Shari'a. What religion has established, if anyone changes it, even if he can fly in the sky, then see it as a real lie. That way, you will survive the slander" said Master Alamsyah Hasbi. The words of Master Alamsyah Hasbi made Mr. Mas'ud's heart calm.
"Come, drink the coffee, Mr. Masud," said Mr. Guru Alamsyah Hasbi invited Mr. Mas'ud. Mr. Mas'ud nodded and sipped his coffee slowly.
"Come, drink the milk, Faiz. Let your stomach warm" said Mr. Mas'ud. Faiz glanced at Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi. Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi smiled. Embarrassedly, Faiz raised the glass in his hand and drank it.
"Let him play Kamal. Now he is still sleeping" said Master Alamsyah Hasbi. Mr. Mas'ud nodded.
For a long time, both were silent. No more words came out of the mouths of the two. Both Master Alamsyah Hasbi and Mr. Mas'ud were silent in their minds. The rain still falls. His voice sounded crowded on the roof of the asbestos dormitory. The sound of shalawat chanted santri through loudspeakers, almost inaudible due to the noise of the falling rain. Also the occasional wind.
Master Alamsyah Hasbi turned to Faiz. Faiz was seen several times yawning. He looked bored and started to get sleepy. Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi ordered Mr. Mas'ud to bring him into the house. Mas'ud told Faiz to lie on the sofa and wait for him for a while until Faiz fell asleep. After making sure Faiz was completely slumbering in his sleep, Mr. Mas'ud went back to see Master Alamsyah Hasbi in the gazebo.
"If you have Makripudin's number, call him. Say told me to go to the boarding school" said Mr. Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi after Mr. Mas'ud sat in front of him again.
"Now, Master Teacher?" ask Mr. Mas'ud while reaching for the phone in his pants pocket. Master Teacher Alamsyah Hasbi nodded his head.
