Samar I heard the sound of the door opening with the sound of footsteps approaching. I tried to open my eyes—fight the pain that suddenly hit my head. The first thing I saw was the ceiling of the room which was white, I'm sure it's now in the hospital.
I saw Devan who immediately hugged me tightly when I saw that he had regained consciousness from fainting, his gaze was very worried, his handsome face looked a little embarrassed by the sign that he was not taking care of himself.
"Now it's okay, don't think about what you don't have to think about." His voice sounded very soft, but it stored a real worry.
"I know, can you take your arms off? I'm having trouble breathing!" I tried to let go of Devan's very strong embrace and made it difficult for me to breathe.
Devan immediately took off his embrace and looked at me with concern. He looks tired breathing. "I'm sorry, I was too scared when you fainted it felt like half my soul was taken for granted."
Hearing Devan's words that seem a little more does not disgust me, even make me overwhelmed. He is a man who loves and respects me very much, he is my husband.
"Thank you Devan, I'm fine now." A glimmer of curry appeared on his face, hinting that Devan was very attentive to my condition.
"Thank God, then, your doctor said you had a panic attack so you fainted, but now it's okay" Devan said gratefully and said what he had to say.
"Oh so. Maybe at that time I was just very scared of the horror movie that was aired, so it triggered my panic attack" I replied slowly. I haven't had a panic attack in a long time. Just this time experiencing it after all these years, I tried to dig up the information inside my brain, but there was nothing left as if it was intentionally covered up so I wouldn't remember it.
Devan nodded when he heard my explanation, although that worried look never escaped from the line of his handsome face.
"Then, let's go home I'm fine now. After all you've been very shabby, definitely haven't taken a shower because it's accompanied me here."
"No! You're still not well, I'll be back soon to clean up after Mama and Papa come, I didn't tell you your condition with Sinta's name was afraid they'd be so worried." Devan looked at me with a look that rejected my words earlier.
"Em, well, it's good that you don't tell them about my condition and they're worried" I said slowly, I didn't want to make my parents panic there. Enough they know that I'm fine.
"Darling, you have to eat first." Devan's words pulled me from a momentary daydream. My gaze met Devan's eyes, I only nodded in response when I saw Devan smiling gently at me.
The white bowl on the nightstand now moved into Devan's hands, and attentively began to feed me. I looked at Devan without taking a look, he looked so close now that he was displaying his perfect sculptured face. Her nose, her long eyelashes vibrate every time she blinks, her smile lines are so beautiful, his skin was pure white only left a few feathers on his chin which maybe Devan could not shave because he kept looking after me.
Without feeling my tears shed that made Devan jerk and immediately remove it using his thumb. I don't know why I'm like this, where was Elza? Elza who never whines? I wonder where I used to be. I didn't expect those tears to fall suddenly without being asked, was it because of Devan's sweet treatment that made me like this?
"Why, Honey? Is anyone sick? Or am I not careful to bribe you?" tanyanya panic. I just shook my head in response, Devan immediately hugged myself after putting the bowl filled with the porridge. He said a sedative sentence no longer asking why I suddenly cried.
Devan let go of her embrace then looked at me attentively, she wiped my tear-soaked cheeks and then hugged me again while rubbing my head gently.
"It's okay, I'm here."
Quiet words will never be enough.
"Devan, I know you are kind and sincere" I said in his arms. Devan just kept quiet as he rubbed my back and said a soothing word that everything would be fine.
"I know you're kind and sincere, but I don't want to be the bad guy by trapping you to be with me for life. You know, I'm weird and sick, too, when I was a teenager my parents always took me to the hospital and injected sedatives because every day I would scream hysterically like crazy and very scared, I wanted to bury everyone into thinking that everything was just a sleeping flower, but that memory always pops up that hurts me every time, a-I ...." My voice began to choke on the sign that I could no longer continue, but I did not want to stop so Devan knew who exactly was the person he married.
"I—"
"Shut, no need to continue, right as you say it is just a sleeping flower. You didn't set me up, you're not weird, I think you're the most special woman I've ever met and want me to protect for the rest of my life."
I was astonished to hear Devan's words so bluntly. There was a trace of emotion that I could not reveal in front of him, I just stayed in his arms hearing his heartbeat racing a little faster than usual.
"Is Devan nervous?"
Devan then loosened his embrace while tucking the child's hair behind my ear. He looked at me while smiling brilliantly revealing his row of white and neat teeth.
"You are my woman, I have promised in the name of God to take care of you and I will never break that promise, we can definitely get through this all no need to think too much just think that now you're the wife of Devandra." A smile was engraved on her lips, her eyes were emitting a burning sense of love and it was just for me a person.
I gasped at the words that were so heart-knocking. My belief in him has gone beyond the limit, so that perhaps when he disappoints me I will fall to the brink.
"You're not disgusted with me? You're not shy about having a weird wife like me?"
I'm flabbergasted, is there still a man like him out there who would accept someone sincerely? Maybe finger count.
"Thank you, dear," I said tightly as I called her dear on my own initiative.
Devan of course received my embrace with open arms, a smile never faded from his lips. My belief in being with her is growing, why should I give up on this relationship when Devan wants to fight for her. After that, Devan again bribed me to finish the hospital porridge that was left half that.
Geck! Geck! Geck!
Devan put the bowl back on the nightstand, then gave me a glass of water complete with his straw. Devan hinted that he would open the door for people who were outside. It turned out that my mother and father-in-law were coming, I smiled gently to greet him. Although I know for sure my face looks very pale because it just regained consciousness.
"Mama, Papa," I said, still maintaining a smile.
He suddenly grabbed my side body which made me a little surprised. However, it turned quiet when he heard her voice that was very worried.
"Darling, you're okay, right?" ask him while checking every inch of my body.
"I'm fine, Ma," I replied sincerely.
"You don't worry, honey. We will always be there for you" said my father-in-law. I just smiled warmly at them. Although they are only my in-laws, they really do treat me like I am their own son.
Mama Filza nodded. Afterwards, his gaze turned to Devan.
"Awh!" I was surprised to find Mama Filza picking Devan's ears off like a child.
"You, yes, told to take care of your child even make him sick," said Mama Filza angry while dragging Devan's ear without any intention to release.
"Awh, my God. Devan apologized for being negligent," he replied as he held his reddened ear.
Meanwhile, my father-in-law just shook his head and then he sat in the chair that Devan had just sat in, Papa looked at me attentively and heard a sigh from him.
"I'm sorry Papa, who neglected to take care of you, son. Papa's a little embarrassed by your father over there who left you to me, but your father's got you in the hospital." The middle-aged man lowered his head for a moment then looked at me affectionately.
"No need to feel guilty, Pa. Elza ngak pa-pa, Dad's there definitely won't turn on Papa." Elza smiled gently at her father-in-law.
Devan's father nodded then got up and saw his wife and son still fighting. He's back to shakes.
"It's really childish" said my father-in-law slowly, which made me look at Mama and Devan.
"Hehe, Devan turns out to be afraid of Mama Filza as well" I said as a small chuckle that attracted the attention of the three.
"Yes, this child must be taught a lesson because he is negligent to take care of you, dear," said Mama while hitting Devan's sturdy arm slowly. I'm sure it's just a form of affection between those who succeed in making me feel happy because this family is also unique.
"Ma, Pa, Devan, Elza wants to go home. Please open the infusion, "please stare at them hoping it will work.
"No!" answered the three in unison which surprised me a little.
"No, Honey. You're still sick. Tomorrow if you're better you can go home, right, Ma?" Papa's looking for justification for Mama.
"Yes, Honey. Your father is right" answered Mama Filza as she approached the cage where I was lying.
I just put on a pouting face. "All right, but tomorrow we can go home, okay?" I bargained for them. They seemed to be cuddling while nodding.
"Ok," they answered together again which made them chuckle. What a very harmonious family.
After a long time they accompanied him all day in the hospital. Finally Mama and Papa permission to leave because suddenly get a phone call if there are important guests who come at home then they permit a break and we do not hold it anymore.
Devan was gone and said he would call Dinda to be with me when she was in the office. I just nodded in response. Too tired to talk again. I then took a position to sleep. I hope tomorrow will be okay. Hopefully!
