Today, Nana handles many patients that she has to check including stroke patients, dementia, nervous system tumors and epilepsy patients.
However, the main focus is the patient's nervous system tumor. Because nana had to make an operating schedule for this patient.
Nervous system tumors are abnormal cell growths of brain tissue or spinal cord. Common symptoms of CNS tumors themselves include vomiting, headaches, vision changes, nausea, and seizures.
CNS tumors can be detected and classified through neurological examination, medical imaging, such as x-ray imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography (CT), or after biopsy analysis.
The exact cause of these CNS tumors is still poorly understood. However, several risk factors are known, including radiation exposure, genetic disorders, family history of CNS tumors, immune deficiency, stress, and previous history of cancer.
As with all cancers, the risk of developing a CNS tumor increases with age.
CNS tumors are usually treated using one or more means such as surgery, Radiation therapy, Chemotherapy, Targeted therapy and active surveillance.
CNS tumor treatment often involves a team of doctors working together, including neurosurgeons, neurologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and endocrinologists.
But at this time they choose surgery as an alternative treatment. Surgery is used to diagnose and treat CNS tumors. Removal of tumor tissue helps reduce tumor pressure in the nearby part of the brain.
The main goal of this surgery is to remove as much of the tumor as possible while maintaining normal brain function, and to relieve symptoms caused by the tumor such as headache, nausea and vomiting. Some tumors are deeply embedded and are not safe to remove, and in these cases the role of surgery may be limited to obtaining a diagnostic biopsy. After surgery, chemotherapy or radiation therapy may be used to destroy any remaining cancer cells.
