Melvin's Belief
Melvin stepped slowly towards the stairs, he did not want his return after two days known by his parents. Yes, the last two days Melvin did stay in his private apartment, he just wanted to be alone even though honestly his two friends did not let it.
Fate was not on Melvin's side, his steps came to a halt as the soft, delicate voice greeted his sense of hearing.
"Melvin?" call Mami Melvin while folding her hands on her chest.
Melvin sighed violently, he turned his body to look at the mother who remained calm even though her gaze contained firmness.
"Mommy call?" ask Melvin.
"Down! Mami and Papi want to talk" replied Mama Yuli Atmadja.
Melvin bent his face, if it had dealt with the Papi then it would be certain that the state speech without pause was immediately obtained.
"Yes Mi, I'll take a shower before I talk to Papi." Said Melvin about to go to his room with a clean alibi.
"Down Melvin!!" mama Yuli.
Melvin could not dodge anymore, he immediately went down and followed the Mami to the reading room which is the personal headquarters of the Papi, he said, from the morning you can pass there by Papi Heryawan who is Melvin's father.
"Come on, Mami's gonna make some tea for your Papi." Mami Yuli then left Melvin in front of the reading room.
Melvin took a deep breath and threw it away slowly, forming a fist and knocking on the door before entering.
"But, can I come in?" melvin asked and then went in without waiting for Papi's answer.
Melvin closes the door again, approaching Papi who sits with a book on his lap, glasses perched and lighting focused only on the book, like a librarian.
"But Papi wants to talk to me?" tanya Melvin stood at Papi's desk.
Heryawan Atmadja lifted his head from the book hundreds of pages to see his son, he took off his glasses and kept the book he was reading on the table.
"Sit down." Papi Heryawan.
Melvin receded, he immediately sat in front of the Papi with his hands resting on the table.
"I'm in Pi's apartment, I need-" Melvin's explanation stopped with Papi Heryawan's gaze.
"What's? need freedom?" ask Papi Heryawan.
"It's not so Pi, I really didn't do anything, I couldn't possibly break my own promise." Melvin answered honestly.
Papi Heryawan seemed to sigh, he then leaned his body on the chair with a gaze that was still towards Melvin.
"Listen Melvin, you're the only child of Heryawan Atmadja's family. Only you will be the successor of this family, if you can't keep what ethics and morals to expect?" papi Heryawan said, starting to open a speech session.
"Bapi and Mami are enough to give you freedom by following what you want, you refuse matchmaking with a good and respected family only for reasons reluctant to marry in the near future." Papi Heryawan.
"Pi, I'm telling you the truth. I don't want to get married anytime soon, I want to pursue my ideals and learn to work in the office first." Obviously Melvin meant it.
"That's great, but remember that you have an appointment with your Papi and Mami, even though Papi is nowhere near you but Papi knows clearly what you're doing and you're going to do!" papi Heryawan said and left Melvin.
Melvin breathed a sigh of relief, at least this time the Papi did not speak for too long and for him it was a good gift. Melvin moved from his seat, he came out of the Papi reading room which was exactly like the state library.
"Den Melvin, you're being called by Mrs Yuli." Said a waiter at Melvin's house.
Melvin braked, he did not answer and just went to approach the Mami.
"What else is Mi?" ask Melvin frustrated.
"Go get some rest." Mami Yuli replied without looking at her son and enjoying her favorite green tea.
Melvin grabbed her hair, she immediately left without saying a word to Mami and her cool Papi enjoying warm green tea, somehow Melvin felt that both her parents were doing a plan against her.
"Ck, I won't break my own promise, I will survive, and that's for sure!" muttered Melvin then immediately went to the bathroom to clean up.
