Chapter 15: A long-lost smile

Tonight Kinan prepared himself as best he could. He even browsed about anything that the two would need a secretary when going out of town. Kinan packed some clothes and also the items needed tomorrow. After finishing Kinan grabbed his phone on the nightstand and contacted his mother.

“Assalamualaikum bu,” said Kinan when the phone has been connected.

“Waalaikumsalam. How is nduk?” Rahma's mom answered, Kinan's mom across the phone.

“Alhamdulillah Kinan well mom. Sorry ma'am, lately Kinan rarely call mom,” said Kinan sadly.

“Not what nduk. Anyway, now your department's up. Must have done more,”.

“How are Mom and Kanaya? Is everything okay?”.

“Mother and Kanaya are healthy. Your sister is active with various activities at her school. Mom was worried sometimes because she was late to eat. The body is so skinny,” babble bu Rahma.

“OK. Happy adventures with lord yaa” said Windi then turned off his phone.

Kinan put his phone back on the nightstand. Don't forget to set the alarm so he doesn't wake up late tomorrow. After a while, Kinan finally fell into a deep sleep.

Kevin was feeding Mama Linda in his room. Gently he cleaned the porridge that was attached to the corner of his mother's lips. Mama Linda's condition began to improve after the incident her mother lost that time. Kevin was surprised. She thought her mother would get worse. But in fact, mama Linda looks much healthier. Even her mother wanted to talk to her a little. Kevin is so grateful. He was paying more and more attention to his mother. Even during the break, Kevin took the time to go home and make his mother porridge and help him take medicine.

“Ma, tomorrow Kevin has a meeting outside the city. Is mom going to be okay?” ask Kevin gently.

Mama Linda looked at her son with a smile. His hand was stroking Kevin's cheek.

“Mama raised Kevin,” Kevin said.

“Go son, mama will be fine. There are sisters who will take care of mama,” Linda said with a smile.

“Mama is very beautiful if you smile like this. Mama should promise to keep giving this smile to Kevin,”

Mama Linda nodded and hugged her son affectionately.

“Kevin,” call mama Linda.

“Iya ma,”

“Can you bring the girl who helped mom back then? Mama would love to meet him,”

Kevin scrunched his forehead when he heard his mother's request. What girl does her mother mean is Kinan?. But what he was looking for.

“Mama wants to meet him? But for what?” ask Kevin.

“Mama wants to thank him,”

“Mama take it easy. Kevin thanked her. Even Kevin drove her home safely,”

“Really? Then your son knows where the girl lives?” Mama Linda looks enthusiastic.

“Iya ma, so mama don't have to worry ya.” Kevin stroked his mother's hand.

“But mom wants to meet him. Can Kevin bring her here?” persuade mama Linda.

“Why mommy would love to meet him hm?”. Kevin's confused. This time, my mother talked this much. He even persuaded her to bring the girl who helped him home.

“He has a warm body. Mama remembered once. Mom was very cold then. He came and hugged my mother tightly. She's a good girl.” Her speech. His eyes glazed over recalling the fragments of events that had happened to him.

Kevin fell silent. What did his mother really say. At his age, Kinan was a rebellious and lazy girl. He even recalled clearly how the girl snapped at him in front of the employees.

“Kevin, why silence nak?” mama Linda's gentle touch awakens Kevin from his daydream.

Then he looked at his mother meaningfully.

“What mommy really wants to meet her?”

Mama Linda nodded.

“Alright, I'll bring it here,” Kevin's words make the smile on his mother's face expand perfectly.

“But mama has to promise Kevin to take medicine. And make sure this smile doesn't go away anymore" Kevin said.

“Sure,” replied his mother was happy.

Kevin took the mother back into his arms. Tonight she was so happy that her mother finally spoke to her a lot. He would think of a way to persuade Kinan to come to his house. For the sake of his mother's happiness, all Kevin would do at any cost.
