Love of a Substitute

Love of a Substitute
A party

"Bang Dev."

Back for the second time Kayla's voice broke the long daydream of her husband staring at her as if stunned.

"Ah, sorry you're ready?" Dev seemed misbehaved after staring at Kayla's overall appearance, not only a very fitting dress but also a thin polished face with a description of shoulder-length hair that was so black and beautiful.

"Is my makeup excessive?" Kayla inserts her hair behind her ear.

"No, let's go now!" dev answered, grabbing his wife's hand, and headed out of the apartment.

A smile expands from Kayla's lips as Dev's hands don't let her down the apartment building to their car.

"Bang Dev," Kayla said softly as she continued to smile. "Hmm."

"Am I pretty tonight?" lure the girl.

"You've always been pretty Kayla" Dev replied involuntarily.

"Oh really? You admit it now?" tease Kayla after they reach the car. Dev looked at Kayla with nervousness.

"All women are beautiful, physical appearance is relative," the man replied, making Kayla move her lips in annoyance.

Dev chuckled, without ba bi bu he kissed those adorable lips at a glance, as fast as lightning, making Kayla raise her eyes for a moment.

"Bang Dev?" Kayla felt like she was dreaming, for what reason she got a kiss of lips from her long-serving husband.

"Come, we'll be late. You're blabbering too much" exclaimed Dev as he opened the car door for the girl who was meeting red.

The sweet treatment, holding hands to the car, without being stale gave a brief lip kiss but the effect really made Kayla want a hanger, and now she has the honor of being opened by her suddenly sweet husband tonight.

Kayla looked at Dev who was in the car and started the engine, which was unexpected.

"Bang Dev, did you kiss me? Really true?" kayla said as if in disbelief.

Dev drove his car slowly as he glanced at Kayla with a faint smile he replied, "Sorry I'm khilaf."

"If so often khilaf," Kayla said with a chuckle. Dev just glanced sharply then refocused on the steering wheel.

"Bang Dev," whined the girl again.

"What?"

"Give me another kiss" said Kayla, pushing her lips towards Dev while flirting with her eyes and eyebrows.

"Kayla don't joke!"

"Come on, khilaf once again doesn't matter, does it?" Dev just shook his head in an inexhaustible manner with his wife's attitude, although in his heart he was ashamed of being seduced like that, Kayla was completely different from any woman he had ever known, even Nika. Beautiful and adorable, act as is without shame despite expressing love to a man who is not necessarily able to accept it.

Dev starts a dilemma in his own heart, his feelings for Kayla still can not be interpreted until now although the waves often come when they are together like tonight, his heart warmed up just by staring at that beautiful and innocent face beside him.

Kayla chuckles, she shamelessly drops her head on Dev's arm. The man did not dodge at all, a thin smile he hid while continuing to drive towards the hotel where his parents held a party.

"I love you Bang Dev!" kayla exclaimed with feeling. Dev was silent.

"I hope that feeling slowly appears in your heart, because I'm sure there is no love that is not present after the wedding, although it seems shameless but here I am."

"I fell in love with my husband, even in the early days of marriage. I'll get your heart Bang Dev, and I hope I can before this marriage contract ends."

"I love you Bang Dev, I'll wait for your reply." Dev was still silent, again just a faint smile that he was trying to hide.

Then silence lingered in each other's feelings until they arrived at the hotel.

In the middle of the party crowd, Kayla began to feel alienated among people she had not met before, the majority of senior officials to her mother-in-law's business colleagues, all the rich and the upper class made the girl's guts shrink instantly.

Dev clasped his hand as if calming. "You nervous?"

"I've never been at a party like this Bang Dev, I don't think this is my place."

"Luck it, 'cause it's the parents' party."

"Huh, I'm so nervous. They're officials and big guys all" Kayla said again as she bit her lower lip looking around.

"It's normal" Dev said again.

"Yes, and I'm unusual. I'm ashamed of Bang Dev."

"Why should you be ashamed?"

"I, I'm a lowly man. It's not worth being at a party of rich people like this."

"Hey calm down, this isn't as bad as you think. Let's go meet my parents!" Dev pulls Kayla's hand slowly towards the party owner tonight.

Kayla looked down respectfully as she met her two in-laws, scared and awkward.

"Dev, there's an old friend of yours here tonight. Meet him in the corner, Mama's sure you haven't seen him in a long time."

Kayla's mother-in-law immediately gave the order to her son without speaking to Kayla who had just said happy birthday wedding.

Kayla was still lowered and silent, she knew her presence was not expected tonight. His eyes were teary-eyed and saddened at being unappreciated.

Kayla looked at the back of her husband who was away with a riled up feeling.

"You sit there, don't talk to anyone else about you and Dev." Mama Dev's voice broke the girl's daydream.

Immediately he nodded, "Okay Madam," Kayla replied nervously.

"Hmm" said Mama Dev, she left Kayla and followed her husband to greet guests.

"Huh, creepy in-laws," muttered Kayla breathing deeply. He chose to sit in a chair whose desk was still empty happened to be in the corner of the room. He accidentally hit a woman.

"Hey, what the fuck are you!" The woman was upset when Kayla's drink spilled on her dress.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it" Kayla said in a panic.

"You?" said the woman again, surprised as she looked at the face of Kayla who hit her.

"Sir Weni?" Kayla did not expect she had bumped into Weni, her senior on campus rather a close friend of Zian's. Weni looked at Kayla from foot to head.

"How come you're here?" asked Weni astonished. "I, I'm here....." Kayla's words hang, confused by her own.

"Are you the office's mistress? Oh, I don't believe this." Weni clucked at Kayla's appearance.

"What?" Kayla was surprised to hear the words of the office mistress.

"If it's not an official's mistress then why are you here? Everyone knows you're poor Kayla, or you're here at the invitation of your best friend Nikayla, who's the Governor's daughter-in-law? Ah, after marriage it turns out Nika still remembers her friend, where is your other friend?"

Kayla gaped, she grew confused. Weni did not like him because Zian had given her coffee time on campus the other day, it seemed like Weni was jealous of Kayla fearing Zian liking the girl.

"Me, me," Kayla was confused as to what to answer.

"Kailor, Kayla..... Your appearance doesn't change who you are, you're still a poor and simple Kayla. This dress doesn't make you classy, because everyone knows who you are. Don't think Zian likes you, you won't be at his level, understand!"

"Yes, I am poor. But to judge class or not a woman does not lie in her dress or appearance, but in the words and the way she treats someone. And you, Brother Weni, are no better than this poor girl, about Brother Zian, don't worry. I didn't approach him at all, we were just juniors and seniors just like you and me."

"I'm sorry I hit you, I'm not here as an official's mistress. It's true Nikayla invited me here, because we're friends not because we're rich or poor, I'm lucky Nikayla never thought of me that way."

"Excuse me."

Kayla passed from there without waiting for Weni's response, while removing the clear grains that fell at the corner of the eye. This party is not the place Kayla thought.

Kayla passes Dev involuntarily, she continues walking towards the exit of the ballroom.

"Kaila?" Dev frowned in wonder, what was with his wife so he walked down ignoring that had passed him. Without hesitation, he followed after saying goodbye to his two friends.

Dev chases Kayla, and the girl goes to the toilet. No one uses the toilet.

Dev slowly approached Kayla's back which was shaking from crying. The girl looked down at the mirror of the sink, not realizing that Dev was behind her.

"Kayla, what's wrong with you?" dev asked daringly to touch the girl's shoulder. Kayla surprised.

"Bang Dev?" he immediately wiped the tears.

"Did Mama offend you?" Kayla shook her head, "No Bang Dev, not that. I'm sorry, just a small matter."

"Don't cry anymore, you want to go home?" Dev wiped away the remaining tears on his wife's cheek without asking further.

"We're just coming, there's no way to go home."

"It doesn't matter, it's like a parent's society anyway. I'm not comfortable either, come on!" Dev clasps Kayla's hand out of the toilet.

"I know a nice snack not far from here, we can walk for a while before going home," said Dev comforting.

Kayla smiled then nodded in spirit.

"I just found out you can cry, too" Dev joked.

"Bang Dev," Kayla was upset. Dev laughed softly, subconsciously dipping the top of Kayla's head.

"Bang Dev," whined the girl again.

"What?"

"I love you." Dev smiled without answering.

"Bang Dev."

"What else?"

"Java!"

"You sure you want me to answer?" Dev stopped his footsteps.

"No no, don't answer. I know you won't like me!" Kayla shut Dev's mouth.

Dev chuckled again, he again grabbed the girl's hand and continued his steps towards the elevator intending to get out of the hotel.
