Last Mate
6. Decisions

It has been three days since the incident in which Arumi tried to commit suicide for the first time. Fortunately, Arumi can be stopped by Akhtar if not, maybe at this time just a name.

Since that incident, Arumi has not been conscious either. He was still lying weakly on a hospital bed with an infusion tube in his right hand. Although the doctor said that Arumi was fine, Ningrum was still very worried about the condition of his son who had not shown signs of being aware.

Someone with his sturdy body, entered Arumi's VIP room. Since the incident, Arumi has been moved to a VIP room. The goal is that Arumi can undergo treatment calmly and not be disturbed again with anything else.

"Excuse me..!"

Ningrum, who was sitting next to Arumi's bed, looked over, and there he saw his son's savior standing not far from him. "Ah. Ja. Doctor Akhtar, yes..?" ask Ningrum. He tries to make sure he doesn't misidentify people.

Akhtar reached out his hand and was immediately greeted by Ningrum. "Yes, I'm Akhtar. Sorry I just visited Arumi since last time" said Akhtar.

"Ah. Its alright. The doctor must be busy, I understand. I should have apologized, because the last time I did not have time to say thank you to doctor Akhtar. Thank you for saving my son that day." said Ningrum. Akhtar smiled after taking off his hand.

"Not to be confused. As a doctor, I am responsible for saving patients. Oh yeah, besides visiting Arumi. I want to talk to Ningrum's mother" Akhtar said.

Then Ningrum invited Akhtar to sit on the sofa which was the facility there. "Sorry, if you may know what the doctor wants to talk about..?" ask Ningrum.

Akhtar cleared his throat before starting to speak seriously. "Ekhem. I want to talk about what I promised Arumi. I promised her that I would marry her, because I promised I would" Akhtar said.

Ningrum was surprised to hear that Akhtar was going to marry his daughter. At that time he did hear that Akhtar would marry his son, but he did not expect Akhtar to be serious about it. Ningrum thought, those words were just an inducement for Arumi not to jump.

"Sorry, Doc. Doctor Akhtar don't take that seriously. I knew the doctor the other day said it like that to persuade my son not to jump, so I thought there was no need to think about it. Arumi will soon forget that too."

"Can't, Mom. I promised so I have to keep it. If I only spoke nonsense, it was afraid that Arumi would never believe people's words again. So I'll keep my promise and will marry her if she's cured."

"I beg you, doctor Akhtar thought once more. Marriage is a sacred thing so I don't want my son to be disappointed a second time."

"I'm serious about Arumi. I will take care of him and take care of him. I will be responsible for him. Don't worry, I won't disappoint Arumi."

"Mom, I promised you I'd keep it. Don't worry I'll make your son happy."

Unable to speak anymore, Ningrum could only cry out for a moment because of being moved. He did not expect the doctor in front of him would keep his promise, which he considered a mere persuasion. Akhtar hugged Ningrum, he tried to calm her down. He thought maybe Ningrum was surprised by his sudden confession.

The next day, Akhtar returned to visit Arumi with fresh fruits. Previously he had received news from Rafi's doctor, that Arumi had regained consciousness and was looking for her.

Akhtar knocked on the door of Arumi's room, Ningrum immediately opened it. "Ah. Doctor Akhtar. Please come in." said Ningrum. He let Akhtar in.

After entering Akhtar kept the fruits he carried on the nightstand. "Hey. I'm sorry to look again." Akhtar told Arumi. Then Akhtar sat on the chair near Arumi's bed.

Arumi, who was sitting on the bed, watched Akhtar from entering and sitting next to him. His eyes were never sidetracked from that handsome doctor. As for Ningrum, he made room for the two of them and chose to exit the room.

"Where are you, is anyone sick..?" ask Akhtar.

Arumi only shook her head in response. "Had eaten..?" ask Akhtar again.

Just a nod that Arumi gave. "Ja- Promise." said Arumi. "The doctor did not lie with the promise of that time." continued Arumi in a soft voice, but still heard. He was embarrassed.

Then Akhtar grabbed Arumi's hand and grabbed it. "Yes. I'm not lying. Get well soon, so that we get married and I will accompany you" said Akhtar

Suddenly Arumi hugged Akhtar and cried in her arms. Slightly surprised by Arumi's sudden embrace, but Akhtar still returned the favor and stroked Arumi's back. In his arms, Akhtar felt that Arumi's body was very thin. Mingkin because he had been in the hospital for a long time and was eating irregularly.

Akhtar hopes his decision to marry Arumi, a right decision. But alas, it seems that Akhtar is not thinking about the things to come. He only thought about how Arumi would get well soon. Feeling sorry for Arumi's condition, after that time he noticed her several times.
