Right at the end of my eyes, there was a young woman hiding behind a thicket of bushes. His figure is not so clearly visible because of the darkness of the night and also the rain that continues to flutter. One thing was certain, it seemed that the woman was not Wo Sari.
My body stiffens. Fear, anxiety and curiosity coalesce into one. At first I intended to ignore the woman because of such a great fear. But when I turned around, I saw his weak hand waving at me. I was really upset and instantly so couldn't bear to see that.
With complete satisfaction I finally decided to approach the figure.
So close, I could finally see the woman clearly. His condition was extremely aggravating with wounds and bruises all over his body.
His weak and frightened gaze made my heart feel broken. I can't just leave it in the middle of this dark, gripping forest. My heart trembled, not knowing what I was facing. But my sincere humanity is stronger than my fear.
He looked at me with expectant weak eyes. His figure looked fragile and injured. Sympathy filled my heart, and I was determined to help her, even though I didn't know who she really was.
"What's your name? What the hell happened to you?" I asked, trying to find out more about him.
He was still silent, seemingly hesitant to open his mouth. However, her heartbreaking gaze made me endure to wait. Finally, he painstakingly said a few words.
"This wound was bitten by a snake," he muttered in a hoarse voice while showing a large wound on his leg.
My heart trembled hearing it. He had just suffered a dangerous snake attack, and the wound on his leg looked quite severe. I didn't have adequate medical knowledge, but I knew he needed immediate help.
"I'll help you. Come, let me take you to a safer place" I said with determination, trying to help her stand up.
However, as soon as I tried to lift it, it was not as easy as I thought. His weight made me weak so I almost fell. But I didn't just give up. I kept trying, lifting her up slowly, while she endured the pain with a face of pain.
In the midst of my efforts to help him, suddenly the atmosphere changed drastically. The wind grew stronger, and the already dark forest became even more sinister. From the shadow of the tree, a terrifying figure appeared – Ghost Kukusan!
My body was stiff, and my heart was beating faster. I was too afraid to move, and that fear took hold of me. However, I will not let the ghost hurt the woman. Even though my fear was overflowing, I had to stand firm.
However, what happened then made me even more astonished. The woman, calm and full of mystery, began to chase away Kukusan's Ghost with a strange language. I didn't understand what he was saying, but the ghost seemed to be unable to get close to him.
My eyes were round, amazed to see the tense scene before my eyes. In an instant, the ghost was as if it was repulsed by an invisible supernatural force.
In a still shocked state, I approached him again. "Who...who are you?" my question was trembling, trying to find out about this mysterious woman.
However, he only smiled mysteriously, not answering my question. Her smile felt enigmatic, making my heart even more curious and a little timid. Who exactly is this woman? And what does that have to do with Kukusan's ghost?
I decided to focus on taking her out of this forest. With a thumping heart, I held her in my arms and together, we continued our journey in the mysterious forest, still shrouded in endless torrential rain.
On our way, the rain still continued to flutter with a rush, creating an increasingly gripping and dark atmosphere. The mysterious woman still did not say much, but I could feel that she was so grateful with my help. His look was full of gratitude.
The two of us continued to walk through the increasingly dense and mysterious forest. The strength and determination of the woman impressed me. I again questioned who he really was, how he could chase away ghosts, and why he was in the middle of a forest like this.
After a long and exhausting journey, we finally reached the outskirts of the village. However, the woman seemed to be getting weaker, and she finally fainted in my arms. My heart was pounding, afraid that he would get hurt even more.
I feel desperate. I don't know what to do, and no house seems open around here. Trying not to panic, I recalled the words about Datuk Sulaiman and his magic stone that could eliminate the snake's venom.
Finally, I decided to take the woman to Datuk Sulaiman's house as soon as possible. With quick steps and full of struggle, I carried the woman again and ran towards the house of Datuk Sulaiman which was not far from there.
When I arrived in front of Datuk Sulaiman's house. I knocked hard on the door, hoping she would come out soon. However, there is no answer. I started to panic, not knowing what to do.
Suddenly, the door of the house opened slowly. And before my eyes stood a man who looked old and wise. That's Datuk Sulaiman.
He was surprised to see us, drenched in the rain of the night. I immediately explained the situation of the woman, how she had a snake bite and how she was repelling the Ghost Kukusan. Grandfather Sulaiman seemed interested in the story.
"Come in" said Datuk Sulaiman in a soft voice.
We entered his house full of mystical items and old books. The woman was laid to rest on the bed, while Datuk Sulaiman treated the wound on her leg carefully.
"I took this woman because her snake bite wound was so severe. Can grandfather help her with the magic stone you have?" ask me with hope.
Grandfather Sulaiman nodded and took the stone from one of the table drawers. He attached the stone to the wound on the woman's leg gently. I watched in amazement as the stone miraculously stuck to his skin and slowly sucked in the snake.
Before long, the woman finally came to her senses. I was glad to see him in a better state. Grandfather Sulaiman explained that this process takes time, and we had to wait until the stone actually sucked all the snake can.
While waiting, Datuk Sulaiman began to ask about the woman and how she could have the power to repel the Kukusan Ghost.
The woman remains mysterious and does not want to talk much about herself. However, he gives little hint that he has a special bond with the supernatural world. I was getting curious about her, but I felt the need to give her space to open up if she wanted to.
Time passed, and finally the stone actually sucked all the snake could on the woman's feet. He looked relieved and thanked Datuk Sulaiman.
"I don't know how to return your favor" he said in a soft voice.
"Don't worry, all of us in this world help each other" replied Datuk Sulaiman wisely.
He then looked at me and gave a meaningful smile. "You've done good, and I'm sure there will be a good reward for you one day."
That smile makes me feel warm. I felt that what I was doing was the right thing, and I was happy to be able to help this mysterious woman.
I also began to dare to ask the name of the woman. The woman answered briefly,
“My name is Lara”
