Jum Wo Ai Ni
Desire Dimas

"Assalamualaikum" said Juminten when he got home.

The woman opened the door of the house after putting a bicycle on the terrace. A modest house he lived in with his sister and mother who had a stroke. Juminten went to the bathroom to clean himself up, before going to his mother's room. After washing his hands, feet and face, Juminten went to the room next to the kitchen.

"Mom," called Juminten, he flicked the curtain that covered the door of the room.

Mirna, the 65-year-old woman, looked over her head with difficulty. His eyes sparkled when he saw his virgin son coming home.

Juminten stepped closer, he smiled sweetly at the woman who was staring fixedly at him. Juminten grabbed Mirna's hand and kissed her with reverence, half of which she removed the rag covering Mirna's body to check on the diaper she was wearing this morning.

The disposable diapers were already wet, with the deft Juminten replacing them, there was no disgust. For him this is an obligation as a child, he is still grateful God gave him time to care for his mother.

"It smells good" Juminten said after changing Mirna's diaper.

[ "It's fragrant" Juminten said after finishing changing Mirna's diaper. ]

He again covered the skinny body with a rag. Juminten ducked and then directed Mirna's hands around her neck, while Juminten's hands lifted little by little Mirna's body, helping her sit up.

"Mother maem yes, noontime."

[ "Mom ate ya, it's noon." ]

"Emh .." muttered Mirna while nodding weakly.

Juminten smiled, he went to the kitchen. Mirna looked at the back of her daughter who passed behind the worn-out curtains.

Tired actually, it has been five years like this Mirna, since the accident that claimed the lives of the first child and daughter-in-law and husband. Now Mirna can only hang her life on Juminten, as well as her grandson Dimas from Juleha.

At first Mirna was just a right limb that she could not move. However, due to frequent falls, now he can only lie on the bed, Mirna can not talk, both hands are also difficult to move.

Juminten had to drop out of school, the young girl took care of him and supported him. Sometimes Mirna felt desperate with the situation, if only death could come to her sooner. He should not burden Juminten.

However, Juminten always encouraged him. Juminten always said, Mirna is not a burden, she is a reward field for him. Never once did Juminten complain about their lives, when Juminten took care of her the girl always smiled sincerely.

Juminten came back from the kitchen, he brought a plate of mushy rice along with vegetables and fish. Juminten painstakingly feeds Mirna, happy when the mother eats voraciously. It's okay he worked hard to slam bones to, seeing Mirna who has the spirit of life again like this, is enough for him.

Juminten rubbed his mother's mouth with a wet cloth, cleaning up the leftovers. Juminten went back to the kitchen to put the dirty dishes, after which he returned to the room.

"Ngunjuk rien ngggeh, ma'am."

[ "Take medicine first, ma'am." ]

Mirna nodded, Juminten took some medicine that must be routinely drunk by his mother. Juminten helped feed the medicine into Mirna's mouth, after which she immediately directed a straw so that Mirna could drink.

"Mom, Jum just trade rien ngggeh. Didn't you watch TV?"

"Mom, Jum just settle the trade first yes. You want to watch TV?" ]

Again Mirna only answered him with a small nod. Juminten turned on the 14-inch television tube.

Juminten chose the soap opera event on the channel of salted fish that is most popular by mothers in Indonesia. Juminten took a comb, he tidied the mother's hair a little messy.

"Jum stay yes, Ma'am," She pinched again.

The sweet girl who had a mole in the lower left corner of her lips went to the porch, to clean up her cilok selling equipment.

In addition, he also had to prepare a sale later in the afternoon, for Juminten there was no time to rest. He had to use his time as much as possible to get windfall, Juminten wanted to be able to treat his mother until healed. He also wanted Dimas to go to school well, lest his nephew drop out like him.

"Wa'alaikumsalam" replied Juminten.

Dimas grabbed Juminten's hand and kissed him with reverence, the second-grader of Junior High took off his shoes before he entered the house.

"Dang salin, continue maem, Mbak goreng iwak catfish senenganmu," said Juminten as he passed in.

[ "Quick change clothes, keep eating, Mbak fried your favorite catfish," said Juminten as he passed in. ]

"Snake, Ma'am."

[ "Yes, Ma'am." ]

Dimas put up his school shoes, he went into the room to change clothes. After that, Dimas went to the kitchen to take lunch. He went to his grandmother's room to say hello.

Dimas enjoyed his meal in the kitchen, occasionally he glanced at Juminten who was washing dirty dishes. Feeling at the notice Juminten stopped washing, he rinsed his hands with water then sat on a wooden bench in front of the dimas.

"Lapo?" ask Juminten.

[ "What's wrong?" ask Juminten." ]

Dimas shook his head, he lowered his head and put the rice back in his mouth. Juminten knew Dimas wanted to say something, the boy was indeed a little quiet.

"Onok opo se, Dim? Mbak ngerti you know, if you want to watch Mbak," urged Juminten.

["What's the matter, Dim? Mbak ngerti you know, from earlier you see Mbak," urged Juminten. ]

Dimas put down his spoon, he could not lie to his brother.

"Anu Mbak, I want kerjo" replied Dimas.

[ "Anu Mbak, I want to work" Dimas replied. ]

Juminten frowned, work? what do you want to do Dimas?

"Arep Kerjo opo pean? wes is not necessary, please focus ae school. Lapo se kerjo stuff? sangu ne less ta? pean needs money to pay for school?"

[ "What do you want to do? no need to work, just focus on school. Why the hell, want to work everything? Your pocket money is lacking? you need money to pay for school?" ]

"No, Ma'am. Kabeh wes enough, but I'm on my side, the courier's chest. No bendino kok Mbak, the week most ping pindo. No po-po's mama, I want to study independently," kekeh Dimas.

[ "No, Ma'am. All is enough, but I was bargained my friend to be a courier, not every day kok Ma'am, a week at least twice. It's okay, Ma'am, I want to study independently," said Dimas. ]

The teenager looked at Juminten expectantly, he wanted to be able to help his brother to make money.

Juminten took a deep breath, Dimas was very stubborn. Even if he does not give permission, Dimas will still go to work. With a heavy heart, Juminten nodded.

"But promise me, don't interrupt school!" Juminten.

"Enggeh Ma'am, I promise."

[She, I promise." ]

Juminten smiled, he got up from his seat. Anxiously he ruffled Dimas' hair.
