Juan And Mentari

J&M - Part 6

A few days later ….

Juan who had just come out of the airport was immediately greeted by warm hugs by his two best friends, Rendi and Nino.

"Finally you go home too, how is all your business there, done?"

"Luckily everything is in order, otherwise I might not be able to return today" Juan replied. "Ohya, what about Mentari?  Is she really getting married?" ask Juan. Because indeed the reason Juan came home was to thwart the marriage of his lover.

"We talk about it in the car" replied Rendi.

"Alright" replied Juan.

The three men immediately left the airport.

"I'll get the car, you guys wait here!"

Nino took the initiative to pick up a car that was in the parking lot. Not long after that he came back.

Rendi chose to sit in the front seat next to Nino, while Juan he sat in the back seat.

"Rend, when will Mentari's wedding be held?" ask Juan.

Rendi and Nino looked at each other.

"Let's just say, I know their wedding's in a minute. I just wanted to take advantage of my last chance" Juan replied.

"Three more days," replied Rendi. "And it seems like Mentari is already convinced of her marriage."

Juan took a deep breath and then exhaled. The feeling of regret returned to his heart.

"I'll keep seeing him, I'll try to foil the marriage as much as I can" Juan said. He doesn't want to give up just like that. 

"Do you need our help to thwart their marriage?" Randy offered help.

"No need, I'll try myself" Juan refused. "I just want to offer her a choice? If he chooses to come back to me. I want that choice to come from his heart. And, if indeed he chooses to remain married to the man his mother chose, I will try to accept everything sincerely. I'll assume we're not fools."

Juan's face returned.

"We wish you both the best" said Rendi, staring at her best friend's face.

"Thanks yes, Rend, No. All this time, you've always been there for me."

Rendi and Nino just smiled.

"Now you want to go home or …."

"Take me to Mentari's house now!" juan interrupted before Nino finished his words.

"Do you have to rest first?" 

"No, Rend. I don't want to delay being able to talk to Mentari."

"Alright, then we'll drive you now." This time Nino answered.

Nino immediately drove her car to Mentari's house.

"Don't you want me and Nino to be with you?" tanya Rendi made sure. 

As soon as the car they were driving arrived in front of Mentari, Juan told his two best friends to leave him there.

"True, I'll solve my own problems. You can wait for me at the apartment" Juan replied.

"Well, if that's what you want. We're going home now. Remember that! If there is anything you can contact us immediately. We will always be there for you" said Rendi.

Juan nodded.

"May it work." Now it was Nino's turn to speak. After saying that Nino re-started the car engine and left the place.

Juan was standing right at the door of Mentari's house. With his right hand, he began to knock on the door before him.

Geck! poke! poke!

Three times he knocked on the door in front of him and right at the fourth knock someone had opened the door and that person was Mentari.

"Dari wait!" prevent Juan while holding the door that was about to be closed by his lover.

"Would you like to come here? Didn't I tell you I was getting married."

"I know, but let me talk to you just once!" pinta Juan's.

"I beg you!" pinta Juan again. He even clenched his hands together so that Mentari would give him a chance to speak.

"Okay, but not here" replied Mentari.

Juan was so happy because Mentari wanted to talk to him.

"Towards you" said Juan.

Mentari took Juan to a park not far from his home.

"Now tell me what you want to talk about!" tell Mentari without further ado. He didn't want to be with Juan for too long. Mentari was afraid that his heart would waver.

"Dance, I'm sorry that I didn't come after you that night. I'm more concerned with that bet than you are" Juan said.

"Betc?" The sun looked at the man standing in front of him. He wanted to know the meaning of Juan's words just now.

Juan nodded.

"That night, I was making a bet together with my friends. If I win that bet, I'll get my dream sports car."

Now Mentari understands why Juan didn't go after him back then. He stared intently at Juan's eyes, "You told me once, every decision taken, there will be consequences that come with it. And you have to accept the consequences of your decision that you have chosen. You prefer that car to me, right? So, enjoy that car and let me marry someone else."

"Tari ... Can't you change your decision? I know you don't love her, so ...."

"But I don't hate him either" Mentari said. "So I can still love him" Mentari continued.

"alright. If that's your decision, I'll take it lightly."

Breathing out of Juan's mouth, it felt so heavy when he had to give the person he loved to someone else.

"May you be happy" Juan said before leaving.

After Juan's departure, Mentari immediately shed tears that he had been holding back. His heart ached when he saw the pain in Juan's eyes. He wanted to run after Juan and cancel his marriage. But, he realized he could not be selfish. Her marriage was only a matter of days, if she canceled the marriage, then it meant that she was humiliating two families at once. His family and Iwan's.

Mentari continued to cry while slumping his head between his knees, he spilled his water there.

"Sister Dance."

The sound shocked the Mentari. She immediately wiped away her tears, knowing that it was her sister, Star.

"What is Brother here for?" ask Stars.

"Ka ... Ka_kok ... My brother is looking for the wind. The air in the house was a bit hot, so Brother came out to look for the wind" Mentari replied rather nervously.

"Don't you say the air was cold? That's why, when I invited Brother to chat on the porch of the house Brother refused." The star looked at his brother.

"Sister, did you just cry?" ask the Star when he saw his brother's eyes.

"No. My sister did not cry. Why should you cry?" reply Mentari. He showed his best smile in front of his brother.

The star knows that her brother is lying, but she pretends to believe.

"Come on, brother, we're home! I was so worried about Brother because Brother suddenly disappeared!" invite the Stars and answered with a nod by Mentari.

Both walked towards the house.

3 Days later ....

That day was the wedding day of Mentari and Iwan, all family members were present at the event venue. Likewise with invited guests, they have standby on location, even 30 minutes before the event begins.

"Tari, this is the last time I ask you, do you really want to marry me?" tanya Iwan, 15 minutes before the procession will begin.

Mantari. All the memories of him along with Juan suddenly wandered inside his head.

"Dance" call Iwan.

"Yes, Juan ...." Mentari instantly fell silent as she realized she was wrongly calling names.

"Juan? Who is Juan?" ask Iwan. He looked at his future wife.

"Mom, it's nobody. It was just my old friend," replied Tari nervously.

Despite his disbelief, Iwan again asked Mentari the same thing, "Tari, do you still want to marry me?"
