Juan And Mentari

J&M - Part 2

With his feelings muddled, Juan returns to his apartment. He went straight into his room, without greeting his two friends who were busy playing games.

Rangga and Nando looked at each other, as if understanding the contents of each heart both spread their shoulders. Nando gave the code to Rangga to ask Juan. Rangga put the game stick that was still in his hand, then walked closer to the door of his best friend's room.

"Juan, are you okay?" rangga asked while knocking on the door of his best friend's room.

But Juan only answered him with "Hemm."

"Is Mentari angry at you?" ask Rangga again. He went into his best friend's room.

"Start back to Indonesia" replied Juan. "And it's my fault, I didn't go after him earlier and instead attach importance to prestige."

"Why didn't you follow her?" ask Rangga. "The show is done."

"Gus will still have to complete the mandatory work of the cave doctor who lives a few more months."

"Yes, one more week I will suck up the Mentari for loe," said Rangga.

"Thank you, Ngga. Loe is my best friend." Juan patted his best friend's shoulder.

"Gue continues to play the game first" said Rangga before leaving Juan's room.

Juan took a picture of Mentari on the table in his room, "I'm sorry Dance. I'm sorry that I attach more importance to that prestige than you. I promise that once my specialist work program is over, I'll catch up with you."

Juan put the photo back to its original place.

After almost 22 hours of travel, Mentari finally arrived at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. He smiled as he saw his sister and mother waving at him. With half a run, Mentari immediately approached his sister and mother.

"You're finally home, son. I miss you so much, it's been almost 2 years, I haven't seen you."

Ratih, Mentari's mother hugged her very tightly. It is not the intention of Mentari not to return to Indonesia as long as he studied S2nya in America. But more to the economic conditions that are not possible, if he often returned to Indonesia, it will be a lot of money that he spent to buy plane tickets. And the money is better he used for his daily living expenses while in America or just to send it to his mother in Jakarta.

"Tari also misses Mother," replied Mentari.

"Come, Son. We'll be home soon! Iwan and his family have been waiting for your return home" said Ratih.

"Yes, Mom."

"Sister, is Brother willing to accept the match?" ask the stars to her brother in a slight whisper.

"Why? Didn't you, Big Brother said he'd take her home with Brother. Why didn't you do that?"

Mentari's heart again throbbed pain because it had to remember the betrayal committed by Juan. He still did not think how his lover could betray him.

"It's okay, Brother has broken up with her," Mentari replied with a smile. But the smile was more and more revealing the sadness that was in his heart.

"But why?" ask Stars.

"Star, you're too small to know everything. Later if you are an adult you will understand everything that happens," said Mentari softly. He rubbed his sister's hair gently.

"Sister, I'm a big, second grade high schooler."

"Yes, yeah, you're a big boy. But, still for Big Brother you are my sweet little sister."

The star only sighed, she did not understand her brother's words. But from the smile shown by her brother, aggravated the sadness that was being experienced by her.

Mentari with his sister and mother immediately left the airport area. They immediately boarded an online taxi they had booked before. The taxi drove away from the airport.

After almost an hour, the taxi they were riding arrived in front of a simple house. The Mentari family is not a rich person, to be able to go to school, the two brothers must try hard to get a scholarship. And luckily their hard work paid off. Mentari managed to get a scholarship to continue his S2 abroad, while Bintang, his sister, could attend one of the favorite high school in Jakarta.

After the driver pulled out two suitcases belonging to Mentari from the trunk, Mentari along with his mother and sister rushed down from the taxi. 

"Thank you, sir," Mentari said, giving the driver money. They immediately stepped inside the house. Inside the house, Iwan and his family were waiting for them.

"Son, this is Iwan. The one who will be your husband in the future" Ratih introduced Iwan to his daughter.

"Dance."

Iwan and Mentari shake hands with each other. Iwan was immediately fascinated when he saw the beautiful face of Mentari. Unlike the Mentari who actually felt uncomfortable with the gaze Iwan gave him.

"Iwan, don't stare at Mentari like that!" tegur Handoko, Iwan's father.

Handoko is a famous philanthropist in the city. She often helps the surrounding residents including, Ratih, Mentari's mother. Since her husband died, Handoko and her family have often helped the Radih family financially. Although Ratih often rejected it.

"When you're married, you can look at her all day" Handoko added.

"Sorry, Om. I'm allowed to go to the room, I'm still tired from the long journey." Mentari asked for permission, he felt uncomfortable with the gaze given by Iwan.

"Please, Son. What matters is that you and Iwan already know each other. And for the next let me and your mother continue this conversation," said Handoko.

"Thank you, Om, for understanding, Excuse me." The mentor went straight into his room.

"The girl is really beautiful" Iwan said in his heart.

"Iwan, have you seen the face? Do you still want to continue this matchmaking or ...."

"Iwan agrees to marry Mentari, Pah," Iwan replies before Handoko completes her question.

"It would be foolish if I refused to marry her. Besides being smart, the girl is also very beautiful," Iwan said.

"Mrs Ratih, according to our previous agreement, we will have our children's marriage in two weeks."

"It is up to Mr. Handoko, if my daughter has agreed, whenever we are ready to accept the proposal of Mr. Handoko's son," replied Ratih.

"Mrs Ratih and the family did not bother to prepare for their wedding. Let us arrange everything, Mrs Ratih and family just take care of it."

"Thank you very much, Mr. Handoko" said Ratih.

"Mom, the Stars are coming to Brother's room!" pamit Bintang's. He was sure that something was going on with his brother.

"You can go to your brother's room, but don't disturb his rest, son," replied Ratih.

"Yes, Mom."

The star ran after her brother and before entering, she first knocked on the door leaf in front of him.

The star then went into her sister's room. He walked up to Mentari who was busy taking her clothes out of the suitcase.

But why did Brother go home alone and say that Brother Juan and Brother have broken up? Why Sis?" urged Stars. The 16-year-old girl was curious about her brother's relationship.

Mentari stopped his activities, he told his sister to sit next to him.

Maybe this is how we can repay Mr. Handoko's kindness to our family all along." Mentari tried to give understanding to his sister who had just stepped on adolescence.

"Good night" replied Mentari. He smiled as he looked at his sister who had closed her eyes.
