Chapter 24

Carla is in the kitchen preparing a bowl of porridge and a glass of water for Alex.

In the middle of his activities, Rain's remark to Carla a while ago called back to his ears.

"Is it true Rain said that he missed me and was almost crazy just for not seeing me all day?" muttered.

Carla bit her lips and thought, "Is it possible that Rain likes me?...No, there's no way she likes me. If she likes me, she can't keep punishing me for working on her caffe." Various questions rippled in his mind now.

"Why should I think about whether Rain likes me or not, I already have Alex. It's better now that I'm focused on taking care of Alex who's sick" Carla told herself. He rushed to Alex's room with a tray of porridge and a glass of mineral water in his hand.

Time passed, after eating the porridge made by Carla for him, Alex was back to sleep soundly because of his body is still weak. While Carla decided to take a shower, then cook and do other homework as usual.

After completing her homework, Carla who did not want to disturb her lover's rest time, prefers to watch television in the middle room while eating a light snack.

Every now and then Carla looks at Alex in her room, just in case Alex wakes up and needs something from her. But it turns out Alex is still asleep very fast, Carla was relieved to see it.

"Thank God, it turns out that behind your pain there is a silver lining as well, because you can finally rest longer than usual, after all last week you were always busy with your office business," Carla said.

Carla sat back to watch television in the middle room until the afternoon arrived.

Not feeling the time has now shown at 5 pm, Carla was about to rise to Alex's room to wake him up, but suddenly his steps stopped because of the ringing sound of his cellphone that had been activated again.

Carla grabs her phone from the table and sees Rain's name there.

"Rain? what the hell is he doing?" Carla scrunched her forehead.

"Hello young master."

"Are you home?"

"Yes, I'm home. What's the matter?"

"You forgot, this morning I said I'd go to your house this afternoon after the cafe."

"Huh?" Carla was shocked, she just remembered Rain's words this morning. "Gosh, I forgot that he was coming to see me. It could be bad if he comes home, Alex can misunderstand later. I have to find a way to do this," Carla thought hard.

"Hello Carla, do you still hear me?" Rain called out to Carla, as Carla was silent for quite a while.

"Yes young master,"

"I'm just saying that I'm on my way to your house right now."

"What?? you've been on the road?"

"Yes, I've been on the road."

"T-Master, y-you don't come here please! Let's meet outside. Nearby is a small park, we'll meet there." Yeah."

"Huh? why?"

"It's okay, we just meet in the park, yeah," Carla hurriedly hung up on her phone, worried that Alex would catch her again like this morning she thought.

Carla is ready to get out of the house, but before leaving she decides to see Alex first, to determine whether Alex has awakened or not.

And it turns out that when he reached Alex's room, it looks like Alex has awakened and is now sipping a glass of mineral water that has been provided by Carla on the nightstand.

"Alex, you're awake, apparently," Carla walked over to Alex's bed.

"Yes, I woke up thirsty" she replied weakly.

"You're still feverish, apparently," Carla checked Alex's temperature using Alex's mouth-mounted thermometer.

Alex nodded weakly, "my head feels dizzy too" he replied.

Alex then looked at the clothes Carla was wearing.

"You're wearing a jacket and trousers, are you leaving?" ask Alex wonder.

"Ahh.iya, I want to go out for a while. I'm gonna go get you some hot-dissipating drugs at the pharmacy." Perfect reason, Carla thought.

"Ohhh.iya, thank you and sorry to trouble you."

"No dear, it's my job to take care of you."

"You're a good lover, I'm grateful to have you" Alex smiled back at Carla and vice versa.

"Yes, then I'll go first, yes" said Carla, then immediately rushed away leaving Alex at home.

It wasn't hard for Rain to find the little garden that Carla mentioned earlier. And now he was sitting in a garden chair, waiting for Carla to come.

Shortly after, Carla was running around the park in the distance while looking for someone.

"Hey.i'm here," cried Rain as he waved his hand.

"Ngehh.ngehh..young master ngehh..," Carla's breath seemed to be stingy from running.

Not yet Carla arrived where Rain was, Rain immediately stood up and walked towards him, then pulled him into his arms.

"Young master," Carla, who was shocked by Rain's actions, tried to escape from her arms. But Rain even tightened his embrace.

"I beg you for a moment" Rain closed his eyes while hugging Carla.

Carla who had been rebellious, resigned over time and let herself dissolve in the arms of Rain.

"I miss you" said Rain.

Carla closed her eyes when she heard Rain's words just now and said in her heart, "I can't stop thinking about you either." Unknowingly, both hands were coiled behind Rain's back.

Rain smiled happily, as Carla finally returned a hug from him.

But a moment later, Carla suddenly remembered Alex, so she reflexed pushing Rain's body with all her might to get away from him.

"Ahkkp...Carla!" pekik Rain was startled as his embrace slipped suddenly.

"Pardon me, young master," Carla lowered her head in fear of feeling guilty for pushing Rain violently.

"You why?"

"I. feel this is wrong. We shouldn't be like that, between us there's nothing to do but because of the job punishment you gave me. I also have a lover."

"Yes, you're right, I'm wrong. I'm sorry, "Rain's face turned sad, he took a deep breath trying to calm himself down.

"What do you want to see me?" ask Carla later.

"I just want to see you," replied Rain honestly.

"Now you've seen me, haven't you? then I'll go."

"Can't you be with me in a minute?" Rain asked with pleading eyes.

Carla is stunned to see him, in her heart she still wants to be with Rain, but she realizes that she must not linger long because Alex is waiting for her at home.

"Your behavior confuses me" Carla said.

"You're confused why?"

"I don't understand you and you mean, why do you act like you like me?" Carla was blunt with what she had been feeling all along.

"If so, why?"

"You mean?"

"I mean, if I like you how?"

Time stopped when Rain said that. The two people were now staring at each other and the atmosphere was suddenly silent for a moment, only the heartbeat of the two filled the silence in the park that seemed quiet in that afternoon.

"T-Young master..," Carla's lips trembled.

"Yes Carla, I like you" Rain said confidently.

"S-Since when?"

"I also don't know from when, that feeling just popped into my heart."

"B-But...,"

"Would I be wrong if I had these feelings for you?"

"Young man, you know I already have a boyfriend."

Rain gulped his saliva roughly, "I know. That's why I hesitated to reveal this to you at first, but I don't think I can hold back this feeling much longer" she replied.

"But I don't want to cheat on my boyfriend."

"Did you love your girlfriend so much?"

Carla nodded.

Rain smiled bitterly at Carla's nod. "All right, I understand. I'm not forcing you to return my feelings, I'm enough to keep these feelings for you."

"Young master, I'm sorry," Carla's glassy eyes saw Rain's disappointed face.

"It's okay, relax. I'll be fine as long as every day can still see you and be close to you" Rain forced himself to smile again, though his heart was disappointed that he felt his love clapping one hand.

"I'm going, see you tomorrow." Rain paused and then turned around leaving Carla who was silent fixated on staring at his disappearance.

After Rain left, Carla's tears did not stop rolling in her eyes. She crouched down and, resting on her knees, Carla cried bitterly. For what he cried, whether he regretted ignoring Rain's feelings for him, or just because he felt guilty, I don't know because Carla actually did not understand her own feelings.
