Chapter 10

Carla follows Alex from behind to the house.

"Alex, have you eaten yet ? if I haven't prepared dinner for you yet, yes, I cooked for you" Carla said as she continued to follow Alex into the living room.

Suddenly Alex stopped his steps and turned to Carla behind him.

"I've eaten" replied Alex with a cold look, then he went into his room leaving Carla stunned.

"Braa...!!"

Carla is shocked to hear the sound of the door being slammed by Alex as it closes her room from inside.

"Hh..Alex why the hell ?..would he be angry at me ?..but what is my fault ?...shouldn't I be angry at him, because he chose to go home late only to meet with Jessica ?" various questions were now raging in his mind.

In his room, Alex seemed to be sitting on the edge of his bed with an upset face.

"Dam...Jessica had seen Carla come out of the prison, what if she knew the truth later, she could - she could complain to my father, this is all because - because the liar was Ck...," Alex scratched his head violently.

"Tokk..tokk..tokk.

"Alex, it's Carla. Can I come in ?" carla said from outside the door.

"Ck..want what the hell is he?..sucks !" alex grumbled in his heart.

"Come in !" alex replied coldly.

Slowly Carla opened the door and walked in to Alex on the bed.

"Alex, what's wrong with you ? are you sick ? do you want me to make you some warm tea ?" carla's hand moved about to touch Alex's forehead, but unfortunately was immediately pushed over roughly by Alex.

This made Carla even more surprised by her attitude. "Alex, what are you really doing ? why are you acting like this to me ?"

"You just ask yourself" Alex said.

"You mean ?" Carla doesn't understand.

"You...How many times have you lied to me, huh ??" snapped Alex.

"M-Lying to you how do you mean ?" suddenly Carla felt anxious - was in her heart "Don't she know that I went to see my father yesterday."

"Yesterday you went to see your father again, didn't you ? is it ?"

"No, I told you yesterday that I was just walking out for some fresh air" Carla started to get nervous.

"LIED !!"

Carla's face began to panic in fear, she did not know what to answer.

"You're a liar!!. You think I don't know what you did yesterday huh ?"

".........," Carla nodded.

"Don't you know, today Jessica told me that she saw you walking out of a shell yesterday."

"Huh...a-what ??...Jessica saw me ?" Carla was surprised to not think.

"She looks at you, you stupid girl. I tried hard to cover your father's status from everyone, even from my own family and close friends. But you ruined everything."

"L-Then.a-what did you tell her ?"

"Of course I tried to cover it up stupid. Right now it might still work, but what if it happened again, it could - could the secret about your imprisoned father be exposed by Jessica and my family would know later, she said, if that happens then everything can get messed up."

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to mess things up."

"You know how dangerous it is for me, if anyone knows that I'm dating a girl who's the daughter of an inmate, especially if my business partner and my father's business partner know, then I'll put where my face will be ? are you intentionally trying to embarrass me huh ?"

"But I really didn't mean it that way, I also didn't know if Jessica was there to see me yesterday.I just...,"

"Sorry.." Carla could only say sorry, with her tears now beginning to wet her cheeks.

"But.hiks..however he is my father.hiks..can't you understand my feelings torment.what if it befell your father, how could you not visit him even once...," Carla started sobbing while enduring the pain.

"Did you say?..if it happened to me?.hheuhh...which is true, my father was a distinguished person from a good family - well, well, how could you possibly be involved in a criminal matter like that of your father."

"But my father also came from a good family, and my father was an honest man. He's completely innocent, you know that, right ?"

"It's none of my business, whether your father is guilty or not, it's clear that your father is now an INMATE" Alex stressed that the inmate's words hurt Carla's heart.

"ENOUGH! STOP IT!!" Carla screamed while covering both ears.

"Hahaha.why ? are you ashamed, huh ? especially me, I'm so ashamed of your father's status."

"If you're embarrassed, why do you still want to date me huh ?" carla said in a high tone.

"That's because I still love you. You should be thanking me, because I still want to accept you to stay in my house, otherwise you might be a bum out there."

"Alex..," Carla's heart ached to hear it, she felt as if she was being humbled by the man she loved.

"Why?.didn't you take it ?"

"You don't love me Alex. If you loved me, you would be able to accept my father's current situation."

"Don't hunt me down, I do love you, but you're the only one I can accept, until whenever I can't accept your father's status, because it's so embarrassing to me, you understand ?"

"Alex, you're evil hicks...,"

"Whatever you say, if you still want to be with me and stay here, then follow my words and don't argue."

Carla could only sob at Alex's words, she was running out of words to answer Alex. Because however Carla realized that she was now just hitchhiking at Alex's house, she had no place to take shelter anymore.

"Now quickly get out of my room ! I'm gonna get some rest" Alex kicked Carla out of her room.

With a giant step, Carla obeyed Alex's orders to leave her room immediately.

Carla decided to go into her own room. And in her room, Carla spilled all her unstoppable sadness, so she cried bitterly until late at night. While Alex did not care at all even though Carla's roaring cry was heard into his room.

The morning had arrived, Alex who had been neatly dressed in his office clothes seemed to be preparing to leave for the office.

Carla with her eyes swollen from crying last night tried to smile as she approached her lover.

"Alex, let's have breakfast first!" get Carla to try as quietly as possible as if nothing happened between them last night.

"You have your own breakfast, I'll have breakfast at the office" replied Alex coldly.

Hearing that, Carla's heart grew even more sad. But unfortunately he could not say anything to force Alex to eat breakfast with him. "Alex must still be angry with me," Carla said.

"Alright, then be careful on the road" said Carla resigned.

"Eumm..," replied Alex briefly without looking at Carla and just left without saying goodbye first with Carla as usual.

Carla's tears were dripping from her eyes as she looked at Alex's departure this morning.

"Alex, I'm sorry" said Carla Lirih.

Shortly after, Carla rushes to get ready to go to work at Rain's cafe.
