I Reincarnated In My Own Novel

I Reincarnated In My Own Novel
Chapter 5 Sword Arts (1)

If nothing had changed then the sword arts should have been located a few kilometers behind the Clayton ridge.

It took 5 hours to climb the mountain, and another 10 hours to reach the approximate area where the sword arts were located.

A huge forest that spread over several kilometers appeared in front of my sight, and when I reached the forest entrance, without a second thought I chose to enter.

Even though I was tired of constantly moving all day, I decided to grind my teeth and continue on my way.

Some may say I am too impatient with regards to how I ignore my body to look for cheat items, but I beg to differ. I am not only reincarnated in a world where the weak fall prey to the strong, but in the near future, if one is not strong enough, only death awaits them.

If I want to be strong enough in the hope of overcoming a certain death flag waiting for me, my only option is to increase my strength as much as possible.

Every minute I saved was one minute I could use to train myself.

Although it was dark outside, my vision was unaffected, partly due to my improved body condition which was all due to the magical fruit I had previously eaten. The only problem was the fact that I was in the middle of the forest. So even though my visibility was clear, it was still difficult to see what was in front of me.

"If you don't remember wrong there must be a river near here"

My current goal is to find a river that flows directly from the highest peak of the Clayton ridge.

'For those of you who seek the way of the sword, follow the path that flows through the highest peak'

As the protagonist was cleaning the basement, he found three ancient scrolls neatly placed next to each other, and the contents of one of those scrolls had the exact words written in it.

At first, the protagonist did not understand the meaning of the words in the scroll, but eventually with the help of one of his friends, he managed to figure out the meaning of those words. Unfortunately by the time he found out the contents of the scroll, it was already too late because the protagonist had learned the sword arts [the Levisha style].

But this is fine with me because I really like [the Keiki style]

In simple terms, the scroll tells the protagonist to follow the river coming from the highest peak of the Clayton ridge. The word 'road' is accompanied by 'flowing' referring to the river and 'highest peak' referring to the highest mountain in human territory that is on the Clayton ridge.

I am currently looking for the right river.

It didn't take long for me to find the river, but by the time I found it, I was completely exhausted. I think I've been doing it for over 18 hours at the moment. No matter how much I wanted to continue, my body would simply refuse to listen to me, and thus I had no choice but to camp near the river.

These last two days might add to the total amount of exercise I have done in the last decade of my life. Never had I done this much physical activity, even if I had condensed mana and my body could follow it, I did not think the same could be said for my mental state...because I feel my thought process diminishes every second I keep moving.

The first thing I did once I got to the river was to immediately refill my drinking water bottle. I had drunk enough to conserve water, but it was an unnecessary worry.

Title: Compressed water bottle

Rating : (G+)

Description: Drinking bottle with the ability to store water up to 50 liters without affecting its weight

\=\=\=

I mean, this water bottle can hold up to 50 liters of water.

Isn't that really amazing?

Before leaving for the Clayton ridge, I picked up this little baby at the train station, and I can't say that I wasn't satisfied with him.

Not only can it hold up to 50 liters of water, but thanks to its advanced technology, this bottle can also reduce the weight of its contents by up to 10 times, which means that a bottle of filled water will only weigh 5kg.

Well, that last feature is a must because...I mean what's the point of carrying a bottle that can hold up to 50 liters of water when you can't even hold it?

The thing that surprised me the most about water bottles was not the amazing technology, not that it actually cost.

I only paid 20 U.

U is the currency used in this world and it stands for Union, which is the current association that confronts humanity, the, besides the central government which was an alliance between the largest countries before the second disaster began.

Unions today are the leading organizations in the human domain, which can only be controlled by the central government.

Even the largest unions operating dare not challenge the union authorities as it would wreak permanent havoc if they clashed against them. The union has the highest number of S-rank heroes it possesses making it a giant that stands at the peak of humanity.

What made Union so terrifying was not the fact that they had the most number of S rank Heroes they had.

No

That's their leader.

'Seven Unity Heads'

Each with strength that far surpassed the S rank, breaking through to the legendary SS rank.

Currently, there were only 15 SS-ranked Heroes in the human domain, and of all, 7 were part of the Union, making the Union a major powerhouse in the human domain.

Each head was a single-digit rank in the Hero rank, which depicted the strongest member of the human race.

The Hero System is a system created by the central government and ranks individuals based on their achievements and strengths.

This was a system created with the aim of motivating individuals to become stronger, as this not only brought glory to their name, but the corresponding monetary compensation given each year to top-ranked Heroes.

Since the second natural disaster, mankind has split into two factions of Heroes, and villains.

Where criminals are individuals who are categorized based on the crimes they have committed.

The central government has placed a reward on the head of every criminal, and the reward increases as the rank of criminal increases.

But to truly be characterized as a villain, one had to sign a pact with the devil. It was a promise to devote their lives to the demons, where the demons in return gave them a portion of their power.

Since the demons were currently in a stalemate against many races, in order to weaken their opponents, they used methods that created internal strife, he said, and by giving strength to individuals who were willing to follow their orders for power, they managed to continuously weaken their enemies.

This formula that has worked for thousands of years allows the demons to propel themselves into a dominant race throughout the universe.

Facing the constant pressure from the demons both externally and internally, only an organization like Union could barely maintain the balance of power among mankind.

Right now, I am carrying 250 U, but if I need more money, I can ask my parents.

I forgot to say this, but when I was reincarnated in this world, I discovered that I had a mother, a father, and a little sister who was only two years old. More importantly, it seemed, my father was the guild master of a medium-small sized guild called 'Galxicus'.

Since I don't remember ever including this guild into my novel, it can only mean two things. It was too insignificant for the storyline, or that my reincarnation had a butterfly effect on the story and thus created Galxicus. To be honest I prefer the first option because the second option will mean that some events will deviate from the story bringing an element of uncertainty to the story I know.

*push!

Soon the cube was enlarged into a large blue tent that was about the size of a room.

Watching the cube automatically open in front of my eyes, I could not help but gasp.

Title: Compressed tent

Rating : (G+)

Description: Using blood curling bat skin, 2 meter square tent can be erected by pressing one button.

\=\=\=

This is so cool.

If I had these things back in the world I live in, I would have actually gone camping. I mean, I can actually set up a tent in seconds without going through the trouble of actually putting up a tent.

Looking inside the tent, I could only nod in satisfaction. It was empty but it was very broad. It can actually fit more than five people, and more if we really push it. Moreover, since it was made from the skin of a blood curling bat, a G rank beast, it is much more durable than regular plastic and some can say it is comparable to some metals in terms of durability, making it a very nice tent. .

Taking out my sleeping equipment, I comfortably lay inside the tent and closed my eyes. I was so tired that I fell asleep within seconds of lying down.

The next day after packing my things and eating breakfast in the form of an energy bar, I continued my journey towards the 5-star martial arts guide by walking down the river.

The good news is that I know what I am looking for as I move forward. The bad news, on the other hand, is that I don't know how long I have to walk before finding what I'm looking for.

I can only lament myself for being lazy. When I was writing a travel scene, I completely ignored important information such as how long the protagonist walked or sometimes I missed everything together and had the protagonist arrive at the destination by eliminating his journey.

So even if there is a cheat item that I really want to get, I don't even know where to look because my lazy self doesn't write where it is. I just write general areas. But it was also useless as some areas were so large that it took me years to explore them. In addition, I also exclude the dangers lurking around the area, making the chances of finding cheat items even thinner.

You cannot really blame me though. I mean, who would expect themselves to be suddenly thrown into their own novel? Plus, I missed the traveling scene because it was too boring.

Stopping myself, I stared at the strange stone in front of me. The stone was oddly shaped and its shape resembled a samurai holding a sword above his head. I say similar, but it is currently covered in moss and vines, so if one does not look carefully they will never be able to see this.

Of course, I know why it looks like that, because it is actually not a stone but a statue in memory of grandmaster Keiki.

As time went on, the statue slowly deteriorated so that it looked like an odd shaped stone to anyone passing by.

While sitting down, I put down a small cloth and sat on it.

"And now we just wait"

What I was waiting for was the sunset, because only when the sun went down did I know exactly where to go. The statue was made by Grandmaster Keiki when he was alive and was designed in such a way that every sunset would show where his tomb was.

From this moment on I strictly followed what I wrote about how to find the grave of grandmaster Keiki.

In the first place the protagonist never really bothered coming here, because he did not choose [keiki style] but [levisha style], he said, this is the first time anyone has actually come here.

It didn't take long for the sun to finally begin to set, and just as the sun moved right above the statue, a golden line emerged from the tip of the sword. Looking at where the line went, I could roughly determine that it was pointing northwest toward what looked like a large but inconspicuous tree in the distance.

"Bingo!"

With a big smile, I immediately noticed the tree and ran over to it.

It takes about 150 to 200 seconds for the sun to set. That is, I only have a little time to run from statue to tree or at least approach a tree that is at least a kilometer away from where I am.

If I did not make it close to the tree at sunset, I would easily forget about the tree because other than a little bigger than the other trees, I would easily forget about it, it looks exactly the same as the other trees in the area.

If not for the statue directly pointing at the three, I would never have known where to go.

"Huff, Huff, Huff"

Arriving with a heavy breath I fell down in front of the tree.

I'm really exhausted. I ran at full speed on rough terrain until I made it to the front of the tree.

By the time I arrived, the sun had already set, but I did not care because I had reached my destination

"Now what should I do?"

Even though I am the author, I really don't know what I should do next because I never wrote a scene where the protagonist went to the grave of grandmaster Keiki. I don't even know if there are any traps or trials inside the tomb.

The only thing I knew was that the tomb was somewhere near the tree in front of me.

Carefully looking around the tree, I saw roots sticking out of the ground. Placing my hand on it, I noticed that it was quite loose compared to the other roots that were engraved firmly on the ground.

Without a second thought, I immediately plucked out the roots with all my strength

- Fractions!

With a loud sound, its roots were instantly plucked from the ground, revealing a small hole that could fit one person.

Throwing the roots to the side, I immediately entered into a small hole.

The first thing I noticed when I entered the hole was that everything on top of the tree was hollow, and a rope dangled from the top of the tree.

gurgle

Following my line of sight, I involuntarily gulped as I watched the rope dangling from the top of the tree descend down inside the pitch black hole in the middle of the ground.

Looking down the hole, I could not help but feel cold sweat dripping from my back, as the hole really looked like it was endless.

Gathering my courage, I held tightly onto the rope and slowly made me go down the hole.

1 Hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 5 hours, by the time my hands went numb, I had lost count of how long I had been down the rope.

My arms and core at this moment started burning as the pain was constantly going down the rope, and before I knew it, my mental state was also decreasing.

However, regardless of how much I suffered, I endured the pain and continued walking into the hole.
