Many questions came to my mind as the battery stared blankly at the floating screen in front of me.
Ren Dover's?
Who'sis that?
As far as I can remember my name is .. hmm?
Whatis myname? arghh, I forgot about it.
Sitting on the bed, an empty expression appeared on my face as I puzzledly looked towards the window on my left.
Dirty black hair
Pale white skin
Blue eyes like the sea
What was reflected on the surface of the window was not my face, but a completely unknown face.
It had a rather interesting feature, but it was not a face that would make people shout 'He is so handsome!'
Other than the eyes, it was a pretty average face.
Moving to the body, this new body is a bit thin, has some definitions but it can definitely be done with a little more muscle.
But this is definitely not my body... I should be fat. However, looking at the reflection in the mirror I could not deny that I was the one controlling the body because every time I touched my face, the reflection in the window also showed the young man reflected in the mirror touching his face.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, I saw my now thin legs that I had not seen since high school, and then I stood up.
"Yeah"
Stumbling a few steps, I felt a wave of pain sweep over my head as I began to experience a major migraine followed by a severe case of vertigo.
An excruciating pain that I had never felt before struck my entire body as I leaned my hand against the wall as a means of supporting my body.
"Huff.huft.."
For what might have seemed like hours, passed in seconds, and the pain slowly subsided leaving me gasping on the ground heavily swallowing air.
Only after 10 minutes did I finally manage to stand back up.
Glancing around the room, a simple decorated room unfolded before me. The rooms are equipped with basic necessities consisting of a clean white bed, a spacious old wooden table, a tall wardrobe, and a small bathroom.
As I looked around, on the table, I saw a strange object that looked like a tablet.
Desperate to get an answer, I immediately walked to the table where such a table was, in hopes of knowing what was going on.
As I walked, a strange sensation tickled my brain, as I felt a discontinuity between my movements.
At first, I thought it might be because I had suddenly become thin, but actually, more than I was not used to moving due to the transformation of my body, I thought, it was more like I was not used to this body at all.
It almost felt like there was a pause in my movement. But as I gradually moved more, the time lag slowly disappeared.
I don't know what it is, but maybe because my soul is still not used to this new body?
Putting that aside, there is one important thing I must confirm. I have a hunch of what has happened, but I need to make sure of it, and what better way than through the tablet on the table.
Arriving in front of the tablet, I tapped the screen carefully, then...
Instantly holographic information one after another began to appear before me, surprising me.
Calming down, I saw the information projected in front of me.

\=\=\=\=\=\=
"I understand"
Looking at the information in a daze, I laughed bitterly
"It looks like I reincarnated into my own novel, and as a random character that has nothing to do with the story to boot"
Not the protagonist, but a completely unknown mass.
I as a writer obviously have to know every character in the novel, but who exactly is Ren Dover?
I never made a character like that.
But seeing how things are going, I probably shouldn't think of this world as a novel anymore, because I'm actually breathing and moving around in what seems to be the plot of my novel.
If you're wondering why I keep my cool in this situation, it's actually simple.
I hated my previous life
During my last breath, I realized that I really didn't care if I died.
During my last moments, the only thing I thought about was 'I'm so sorry I died like this'
I don't know when, but at some point, I've given up on life. But strangely enough, it looks like I got a second chance at life and as a character from my own unfinished novel to boot. Although it was really disappointing, I did not reincarnate as the protagonist.
Actually, it's a total lie
Who in the world wants to be the protagonist?
me?
Why in this world would I want to be a fool driven by justice that attracts danger wherever he goes? I just got a new life, why would I throw it away like that. I'm not stupid.
Although I'm jealous of his harem candidates. I mean, I do make them pretty, but who cares! I've been a virgin for 32 years of my life, so it doesn't hurt to keep me a little longer.
Putting aside my virginity, this world has magic and skills!
There's no way I'll spend my time teasing girls when I can spend time practicing magic! I can already visualize myself throwing a huge fireball. Just thinking about it makes me smile.
I mean how could I not be excited? I came from a world where magic does not exist, and now that I have access to it, I will definitely learn it!
"But wait....."
Considering how they placed my potential as a D rank, it meant that they rated my talent as low or medium best.
There is no way I will survive the third natural disaster with this low-level talent
Placing my hands on my chin, I immediately began to plan for the future.
"Although my talent is low compared to others in the lock, if we take into account that D rank talent is highly sought after in other academies, I might be able to live comfortably after I graduate from the key ..."
"But, if I take the [limit seeds] I can permanently remove my limit.but it will affect the protagonist..."
"Actually considering the fact that his talent has been rated as SSS, it shouldn't be a problem if I accept it right?"
Hmmm, I just realized it now, but didn't I make a total cheat character?
Putting aside [limit seeds], I gave him the highest talent possible and also gave him the best equipment. Isn't this a little unfair?
Now that I was in the novel, I could see what the reader was saying about the overpowered protagonist.
"Hmmm, yup I have to rebalance the protagonist"
Obviously not the reason I made so I could get some equipment for myself ..
"Even if the protagonist doesn't take [limit seeds] he will be able to exceed his limit thanks to the other cheat items I gave him, so I guess it's fine if I take them"
Since the first time I reincarnated, I have decided, I will live as I wish.
Screw 'try never betray'
Only a cheater like me who knows the upcoming event and where the cheat item is located, can be a success.
...
Placing my feet outside the lock, I felt a gentle breeze pass me by.
"Fuuu..refreshing!"
Stretching my hands, I headed towards the train station.
The academy will start in a week so I have to figure out a way to increase my stats during that one week.I believe at this point the MC is already ranked E limit D, I believe, the league is above the G rank like me. So I have to use this week well in hopes of catching up a little bit with the protagonist.
Right now, my first priority is to get [Bore limit]. By removing the barrier I will not only be able to reach higher heights, but I can also train faster. It was because the closer one reached his limit, the slower their training would be. Hence why the higher your potential, the greater your training speed.
In order to find the [Board grain], I had to head to Clayton Ridge on the outskirts of Ashton, the city I was in today, which was also known as the capital of humanity.
After the first natural disaster, the map of the world completely changed. Before the earth was a very large body of water with separate continents spread over it, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania. But after the disaster, all the continents merged into one creating one great continent.
Then a second natural disaster occurred, and the territory occupied by mankind became smaller and smaller until the balance of power finally stabilized at a ratio of 3/8 of demons, 3/8 of fantasia, and 2/8 humanity.
Today, humanity occupies the eastern side of the newly discovered continent, right where Asia used to be. New infrastructures and cities were built, and among all the cities built, five cities stood out from the rest. The city of faith, the city of Dromeda, the city of Lewington, the city of Parks, and lastly the city of Ashton, the human capital of today.
Now, why are these cities so important? That is because they are the last refuge of mankind.
Each city guarded the borders of the human territory from potential invasions and threats coming from demons and other races.
The city of faith stands at the northernmost part of the human border, and protects humanity from the potential threats coming from the Orcs, which are a war-driven species. The current Orc leader Brutus was extremely frightening, as he was considered a 'one-man general' on the battlefield. The terrifying display of his strength might shock many as they were each flabbergasted by his ruthless and terrifying strength.
Dromeda City guarded the western region that was right on the edge of the demon territory and the elf territory. Fortunately, the elves, unlike the orcs, were not a war-oriented race, either, therefore the only source of worry is the demons. But even if the elves did not participate in the war, the terrifying demonic power left Dromeda out of sense.
The city of Lewington guards the southern region of human territory and protects it from demons coming from the south. Like Dromeda, they were constantly plagued by demons, but unlike there, the situation was much more dire compared to Dromeda.
Dromeda was bordering the elves' territory, and as a result, the demons were forced to divide their forces to protect themselves from possible ambushes from the elves, thus lightening the burden they faced while fighting against the demons.
But in Lewington, the situation is much worse. No elves, no orcs, and no dwarves. There was no other faction nearby that would cause the demons to split their strength. Therefore when the demons attack, the city of Lewington faces the full grunts of the demons, causing a huge amount of resources to be wasted every year.
Park City on the other hand is located on the east side and compared to the previous cities has one striking difference, and it is a fact that it directly faces the sea. That ... it must fend off sea creatures.
After the second natural disaster due to the sudden mana explosion coming from another world, the animals started to become frenzied. At first, it seemed like they had completely lost their minds, but then after a few days, changes began to occur. The most noticeable difference was their insane height growth and extreme blood thirst. What could have been your cute little puppy an hour ago, turned into a demonic beast that would eat you whole in just a few minutes. Fortunately, it seemed like they did not gain any intelligence, therefore they were not always a threat as long as they were left alone.
Lastly, there is the city of Ashton, a humanitarian center. The last barrier that protects humanity from outside threats. The safest location available and the area where the Lock is located. The ultimate training academy known to mankind, created with the sole purpose of creating the ultimate hero who will lead the task of reclaiming Earth.
The key was a large facility that spread for several kilometers and boasted a top-class training facility. It has more than 20,000 dormitory rooms, 800 training facilities, 1,000 classrooms, and 2,000 professionals and teachers who are highly trained to serve student catering.
There are as many perks of being a student of Lock, and one of them is the fact that you can get access to all public transport for free as I do now.
"This is my card"
Giving my student card to the lady at the ticket office, I checked the station map
"Oh? you're a student of the key?"
Glancing at my card in surprise, the ticket attendant sat upright and carefully looked towards me.
"Yes"
"Where?"
"Station 24 near the Clayton ridge, please"
Glancing up and down, the ticket attendant suddenly smiled at me and handed me my student card as well as the ticket.
"I understand, may your journey be safe!"
"Thank you"
Like that, I took the air carriage to the Clayton ridge
