I'm the Newspaper Seller
19. Not Always Running Smoothly

...***...

Bastian stepped into the second room his eyes sparkled as he stared at the rest of his room. He just believed the whole room was his room after Mr. Dewantoro stepped out of the room.

Bastian sat on the edge of the mattress touching the surface of the mattress so very soft. He then ran to the surface of the window and opened it until the beautiful garden view was behind this magnificent house so clearly displayed.

There is a swimming pool back there Bastian really feel happy if his mother is here maybe he will also be happy to see the house of the rich who is always the material of illusion only.

During his life Bastian never thought he could be in this house, a house so very. He looked up at the beautiful lamp. Bastian must have known that the lamp had a very expensive price even there was a TV on the wall of this room. God, so magnificent this room. This is the second time Bastian has seen a TV. The first one he can only see the TV in the house koh Li's tv had to be hit first before it was turned on.

"What are you, my father?" the sound of the question was heard making Bastian quickly turn his head to look at the woman named Melinda who put on a face so very angry towards Bastian.

Bastian gulped his saliva. I don't know why Melinda's aura of anger is so radiated. Bastian doesn't know what his mistake is so Melinda would be so angry with him.

"Why Ma'am?" ask Bastian scared.

"Don't call me mom! I'm not your mother. I'm confused as to why you're here and why do you know my Papa?"

"Sir Dewantoro has helped me on the streets and also helped Mama."

"Where's your mom?"

"My mom's dead, Mom."

"I told you not to call me Mom! I'm not your mother. Don't you know, anyway?"

Bastian just bowed and nodded his head slowly.

"Observe ye! Don't steal in this house!"

Afterwards the woman named Melinda stepped out of the room leaving Bastian who was now only silent. Bastian thought after he lived here his life would be better but, apparently not.

"Who would steal in this house?" whispered Bastian slowly.

It is true that no one knows how life and its journey always have obstacles. Not all trips will run easily and not that easy to deal with.

And it all happened to Bastian. He thought his life would go smoothly when he lived in this rich man's house but, apparently, not every day he had to duck when he met Melinda.

Once Bastian was playing with Reno playing toy cars Bastian is very happy to play with Reno let alone a very good toy Reno. There are many different types of toys that he has. Reno doesn't care if Bastian plays some of his toys, but all of them just disappear when Melinda hits Bastian's hand, forbidding Bastian to touch his son's toy.

"You don't have to play with him! And you, you do not invite my child to play if the toy is broken how? You want some compensation? Huh huh? If this toy gets damaged, I'll kick you out of this house so you'll be a homeless kid up ahead!" threaten him with just one breath.

It seems that if you are insulting him, Melinda's speech is really so smooth.

"Mama! Mama don't fucking kayak that! Reno told Bastian to play with Reno's toy, "defence Reno.

"Eh, Reno don't defend Bastian! You know Bastian's a poor boy. He came to this house just wanted to eat good to know you?!"

"Ma but Bastian's brother is already the son of Opah."

"Who said it?"

"Opah himself said."

"That's Reno! Don't you defend him! He's just a poor boy."

Bastian can only be silent glancing at Reno silently and when Melinda has gone Reno the kind child will help Bastian not to cry even though it feels so difficult that Bastian can only cover up the sadness it was smiling then pretending to ask permission to go to the toilet and crying there.

Bastian looked at his face from the mirror reflections showing how low he was when he was scolded by Melinda. Now Bastian knows there are all kinds of character traits. Some are good, however, the goodness is only seen in the presence of certain people.

There are also evil, evil in terms of things but, if faced with a certain person he will be good. There is also evil, evil as evil as hell even though he is met with good people he will still be evil. There are also people who are cheerful but, cheerful people will be sad if faced with a condition p. Yes, Bastian has realized everything.

Maybe Bastian's life would have been a lot better if Melinda wasn't in this house. When Melinda went to work in taking care of the company of Mr. Dewantoro then Bastian's life in this house will be so very happy. That's what Bastian feels, Bastian can freely run around, jumping up and down on his bed when Melinda is not at home while Reno is busy attending school.

But Bastian was self-conscious before Melinda came home he had to rush to make his bed and take a bath before a lot of bad words were always thrown out and said that Bastian was a dirty boy, and that he had to take a bath, it smelled bad even though Bastian had taken a bath and did not fit the reality.

Whatever Bastian always thinks about the rich man's house doesn't match what's happening right now. He thinks life becomes rich does not always make someone happy apparently Bastian does not feel that way. He just misses his life like he used to play on the side of the road and sell newspapers and go home with the money he always gave to his mother and after that he will eat noodles cooked by Her mother.

Bastian misses moments like that. Now Bastian knows why Joy, the newspaper's best friend, prefers to sell newspapers instead of living inside her lavish home.

Apparently, a person's happiness is not measured by how rich they are, but happiness is measured by how grateful they are.

If Bastian had to choose a situation then he just wanted to go back to being the son of the newspaper seller.
