Chapter 40: The Loss

Three days have passed.

There was no sign that Eleanor would open her eyes, and Eleanor's condition declined overnight. Making Liam increasingly worried about the situation of Eleanor, not only Liam but also Eleanor's family and friends. As usual, this afternoon Liam sat beside Eleanor's hospital bed, Liam's hands clasped tightly onto Eleanor's palms free from the infusion.

Liam's appearance was different from his usual, blackened eye bags, unkempt hair as usual, as well as fine fur that began to grow on his stern jaw. Four days passed, but Liam's condition was already this chaotic. What if Eleanor was lying on a hospital bed, much longer. Maybe Liam will look like an undead.

“Honey, please open your eyes.”

After saying that at that moment there was a loud voice coming from beside Eleanor's bed. “El.” Liam approached Eleanor's bed, but nothing changed from Eleanor's appearance, she remained silent with her eyes closed, but why did the monitor show a straight line. No, this can't happen to Eleanor.

“Eleanor.” Liam's mind grew increasingly confused, his heartbeat became more irregular.

“No El, please don't leave me.” Liam shook Eleanor's body, intending for the woman to remain in a conscious state.

Behind Liam's body, Jimmy tried to calm Anna's wife down from thinking negatively, after Jimmy pressed the button next to the bed to contact the doctors and nurses.

“El, no. Please beg.” Liam hugged Eleanor so tightly that he didn't notice any tears drenching his cheeks.

“You can't leave me El.”

“Do I have to lose you too, not El. You can't leave me.” Liam's voice sounded hoarse, trying to pull over if he was crying and enduring his sadness.

Until Liam did not realize if there were doctors and nurses who entered Eleanor's room to check her condition.

The doctor and the nurses were shocked by Liam's crying embrace of Eleanor, begging her to open her eyes and begging her not to leave. A famous Liam cold and arrogant turned out to be very weak in front of the lover.

“Excuse me Sir, let me check on Miss Eleanor,” said the doctor, who was heard by Jimmy and Anna, while Liam, the man did not hear the doctor's words at all. Her current thoughts were only focused on Eleanor alone.

“Please save my grandson, I don't want to lose his grandson, please.” Jarvis pleaded with the doctor with tears flooding his face.

“Sure.” Now Jimmy opened his voice, then he stepped up to approach Liam because like his man did not hear the doctor's words, maybe not even aware of the presence of the doctor and nurse.

Liam turned his head when he felt a hand holding his burly shoulder.

“Let the doctor check Eleanor,” said Jimmy, his eyes can see the sadness that is being experienced by Liam. It was obvious that Liam was very afraid to lose Eleanor.

“Save Eleanor's life, otherwise your life will be taken with my own hands,” Liam said coldly and with a sharp look, which left the doctor and nurse looking down in fear.

Liam walked out of the room with his haughty, he endured all his grief and fear of losing Eleanor. He doesn't want anyone else to see him. Although Liam tries to cover it up, Jimmy cannot be fooled by Liam. Jimmy and Anna then follow Liam leaving the room, leaving the doctors and nurses to take care of Eleanor.

Eleanor's room door was closed, and the doctor and nurse prepared her equipment.

Liam can see if the doctor is holding a pacemaker, to help Eleanor's heart work. Liam's mind raged, seeing Eleanor's body being lifted as the doctor pressed down and kept the device away from Eleanor's body. Liam crossed his chest watching Eleanor who was struggling inside. He remains a cold and haughty Liam, trying to hold all the ego inside him. Her sense of Liam wanting to hit something in order to dampen the atmosphere of his current heart, Liam's hands clenched firmly. When he saw the doctor he stopped acting and was talking to the nurse. Liam's heart skipped a beat, his mind raged back to think of Eleanor in there. In the end, the doctor walked to the exit.

Liam's heart was beating irregularly.

The door of the room opened and the doctor who examined Eleanor appeared.

“What about Eleanor?” Liam asked very calmly, concealing his sense of anxiety that shackled him. Liam looked at the doctor with his sharp gaze, hoping that the doctor would give good news to Eleanor's current state.

“Thank God Miss Eleanor can survive, her heart is beating again even though it is still weak. This all happened like there was a miracle, maybe because all this time Miss Eleanor always did good things that made God give her a chance to continue life in this world,” said the doctor who seemed to not believe what he had just experienced, a patient whose heart had not beat again but suddenly his heart was able to beat even though weak.

“Oh god thank you for your kindness,” said Anna while hugging Jimmy, and Jimmy also returned the embrace of the wife by peeping her head gently.

Liam breathed with great relief, the anxiety that had disturbed his mind had slowly begun to disappear, the hand that had been clenching strongly had now begun to open.

Days had changed, it had already been two days since Eleanor's heartbeat stopped. The state of time was the same as two days ago, Liam who was always beside Eleanor. Rough hair began to grow on his chin as well as Liam's slightly elongated hair. Maybe for other men it will look very bad, but in contrast to Liam, the man still remains handsome even though his chin began to grow with a sideburn and hair that began to be long. In this room only inhabited by Liam and Eleanor alone, if usual there is one of their parents or Leon and Lia, Lia, Liam who requested that they all not come to this hospital, Liam gave time so that they could rest and calm down.
