OLD GRUDGES

Arthur returns to Mara's room, shaking his head at Mara's uncomfortable sleeping position. Mara sleeps on her back with her legs dangling down. Arthur approaches him, looking at Mara's face. Arthur wiped the remaining tears on Mara's cheek.

" I don't know what your father's really up to. But whatever it is I'm sure it's best for you. I'll protect you Mara, I'll wipe away your every grief, I love you." Said Arthur.

Slowly Arthur bent his body, no matter where the urge arrived he kissed Mara's forehead. Arthur smiles to realize his courage touching Mara, if Mara knows for sure Mara has kicked her far away from her room. Arthur confirms Mara's position and covers Mara's body to the shoulder.

Arthur takes Mara's laptop and sits on the couch. He opened Mara's laptop which was never locked. Arthur smiled sinisterly as he looked at the wallpaper, a photo where Aldo was kissing Mara's cheek, arthur's heart seemed to be scratched by an invisible knife but he put his feelings aside because he realized where his position was.

Arthur plugged the flash on the laptop and then put on a bluetooth headset connected to his laptop. Arthur immediately opened the contents of the flash. It turned out to be a video recording.

It appears in the video that Aldo is with a woman in a cafe. They sat facing each other holding hands.

" How about Al? Did you manage to persuade Mara to marry you soon?" Ask the woman.

" Already, I've managed to persuade her Melin. I knew she wouldn't refuse my request, she loved me so much that whatever I wanted she would give it." Sahut Aldo's.

" What are your plans after this?" Ask a woman named Melin.

" As with the original plan. Once I marry her, I'll take control of all her possessions, baby. I've also prepared all the files, the treasure transfer files to my hands. I just need Mara's autograph. Once I get everything I want, I'll marry you and I'll make Mara my home ministry." Aldo.

" What about Mr Adi? Mr. Adi will not let all your plans succeed Al. What are you going to do to Mr Adi?" Melin looked at Aldo.

Aldo smiled smirk.

" I'll eliminate him."

" What?" Screeched Melin.

" Yes I will eliminate him, so I can be free to own the treasure and his daughter I won't let Mara go, I'm going to make him feel a lot of pain just like I felt all this time after my sister's departure." Said Aldo clenching tightly his hand.

" Good Aldo, you must avenge your pain because of Mara. He who caused your sister to die, he who was not responsible after hitting your sister so much that your brother lost so much blood that he was no longer helped." His word.

" Yes, he must get the right reward for his actions. I'm grateful to you for helping me find the hit-and-run perpetrator that hit my sister." Aldo.

" It has become my duty as your lover. I hope that once you marry Mara you won't fall into Mara's arms. I also hope your love is only for you and will not be divided for others." Melin.

" Of course, you're everything to me. I have no one in this world but you. I love you, I just made Mara my money machine. All this time he didn't realize that I was just using his money. I can't wait for my wedding day to arrive." Said Aldo kissing Melin's hand.

" Patience her stay another day, I can't wait to surprise Mara. I want to see how she reacts to knowing her boyfriend belongs to her best friend." Melin.

They both laughed happily as if laughing at Mara's stupidity.

Arthur closed his laptop in annoyance, clenching tightly his hands withstanding the ready-to-explode emotions inside his chest. If only Aldo was in front of him, he would surely beat Aldo out.

" It turns out that he was just using Mara, how could I not know about this? I feel guilty about Mr. Adi for not being able to look after Mara. But I won't let Aldo get close to Mara again. I have to protect Mara from bad guys like her. Mara is mine and forever will be mine. Luckily Mr. Adi could find this evidence before their marriage, otherwise I don't know what will happen to Mara going forward. Aldo is a real jerk!" Arthur was furious.

" Where is Aldo now? Did Mr Adi keep him somewhere?" Arthur seemed to be thinking.

" I'll ask Mr. Adi tomorrow morning." Said Arthur.

Arthur pulls out the flash and saves it, putting Mara's laptop back in place. He got on the bed and lay down next to Mara. He closed his eyes following Mara to dreamland.

" Awh's... " Squeak Arthur as his body landed perfectly on the floor. He rubbed his painful back.

" How dare you sleep with me and hug me Bang." Mara stared intently at Arthur.

" Are I really hugging you? Looks like you're wrong Miss Mara. It wasn't me who hugged you but you who hugged me because all this time I never slept while hugging anything, including bolsters. Then how can I sleep while hugging you hmm?"

Arthur's words left Mara speechless. Arthur was right, Mara was the one who hugged him but Mara deliberately threw the mistake to Arthur in order to hurt Arthur.

" How? Do you remember who hugged and who hugged Miss Mara?" Arthur looked at Mara.

" Tau ah's... Anyway I don't like sleeping in one bed with you." Mara.

" Where should I sleep, Miss Mara? There's no way I'm sleeping on this cold floor, I can catch a cold." Said Arthur.

" I don't care! Dare to sleep one more bed, I kick you even harder to get to the door all at once." Threaten Mara to point at Arthur.

Arthur replied with a smile.

" Do what you want Miss! I will accept whatever you treat me, both bad and good. I accept it as a form of my devotion to you, MY WIFE." Arthur pressed his last word.

Mara rounded her eyes perfectly hearing Arthur's last words, she stared intently at Arthur as if challenging a fight.

" I hate your last word Bang Arthur, don't ever mention me with that word again." Mara said coldly.

" why? I like it, besides you're my wife, right." Said Arthur.

" I told you I don't like it, so don't say it again. I hate that word, even I hate that status. I hate being your wife. I hate him." Mara throws Arthur with a pillow and a blanket.

" Yes, okay, I'm sorry! I won't call you that word." Arthur gave up.

Mara controls her emotions, she regulates her breath that seems boring.

" Good then, if you dare to mention that word again I will kill you." Mara Threat.

Arthur stood up, he arranged the blanket and pillow that Mara had thrown on the bed.

" I won't call you that name but I'll call you darling." Arthur leaves Mara.

" Athur!!!!" Mara Shouted.

Arthur smiled at Mara's screams.

" It's better you get mad like that than you cry like last night baby. I will begin to erase your sadness and replace it with happiness. May you feel the happiness I have created for you." Arthur muttered out of Mara's room.
