Distance from the gate to
the village center is a bit far away. Therefore, they all still have to
walk again a few hundred meters to arrive at the settlement residents.
And after a long walk, they began to see some of the houses
who stands at the end there. Finally, Abil, Estu, Hagia and Dian have been
arriving at the village settlement. A village, whose atmosphere was quiet.
Just arrived, the four students were immediately invited by Mr. Tomo
meeting someone. In a friendly tone, Mr. Tomo said, "This
is an elder here. His name is Mbah Adanu. I want to invite you guys
to his house." And with a friendly answer, the students
pursuant to.
Along the way to the old man's house, the students swept
their views around. They saw the houses of the people
it's dull and fragile there. They also did not meet any of the citizens when
street around. The sounds of daily activities seem to disappear.
A dark day also seems to add a perfecting spice, which
it makes the village feel as quiet as a dead city.
After walking several hundred meters, they had now reached the old man's house.
After knocking on the door a few times while saying hello, then the door
open house. His son opened the door and let him
Abil and the others to enter. After entering the house, they
directly met with the sepuh.
While shaking hands, the elder greeted by asking, "You students
who wants the KKN?" Said the sepuh accompanied by a small smile.
Abil and his friends immediately agreed to the question together.
After being allowed to sit down, the sepuh began to invite the students to chat.
He began by asking each other their names. Then
where they all came from. In turn, the students
start answering one by one. Abil explained that he was from
Jakarta. Hagia said that she was from Jakarta as well. Dian is from
from Bandung, and Estu who came from Malang. And not
directly, they compactly affirm choosing a lecture outside of a distant city
from family.
While conversing, his son-in-law came with several cups of tea.
Home snacks were also served by him. The four students
it was well-hosted by the host. Then the only son
he started to light the fire and described it as a torch to illuminate
the whole dark house. And they all tell each other
in very poor conditions.
On the sidelines of the talks, Abil said that they came to the village
without any representation from the campus. Then Abil reached into his bag
provide a piece of KKN license that has been signed by the party
campus. The boy named Bimo received the letter
saving it. Then they all told each other more intensely.
It doesn't feel like 2 hours have passed. The conversation between them is over.
After that, the elder told Abil and the others to
they live in a house that is prepared for them. Its location
not too far from the house. Without any more time,
the elder told Mr. Tomo to take Abil and the others to the house
stop by who they will stay during the KKN.
Abil and the others said goodbye to the old man and his family, and then
start walking after Mr. Tomo from behind. And about 2 colleagues
Mr. Tomo who had been following them, had just returned
to each other's homes.
On the way to the halfway house, Hagia suddenly asked
Abil by saying, "Abil, hape you no signal? Minjem. Wanted
my parents are in Jakarta." Ask Hagia who just saw
his phone didn't get a signal.
Hearing Hagia's question just now, Abil immediately reacted by answering, saying,
"Boro-boro. If there is a mah signal, I have called the boarding mother earlier, fitting us
again stray this village before." Tukas Abil with a somewhat
chuckles. Abil did speak as he was just now. This village after all
is a remote village, where electricity does not exist. Expects
this village has a signal? It's definitely impossible.
After a few steps, Mr. Tomo finally stopped his steps.
Abil, Estu, Hagia and Dian who were tailing behind also stopped.
With the help of his hand gestures, Mr. Tomo also introduced Abil and
the other to the halfway house in front of him said, "Mas Abil,
Mas Estu, Ma'am Hagia and Ms. Dian, this is where you live during KKN
it's here." Then Mr. Tomo opened the door of the house that was not
locked up.
The halfway house itself is not large. It consists of only 3 pieces
space. Which is definitely 1 plot for the bedroom Abil and Estu. 1 plot
for the bedroom Hagia and Dian. And the remaining 1 square is space
the middle that connects the 2 compartments of the room. For the bathroom itself
being outside the house, where the water must be brought first
from wells. From here also told by Mr. Tomo, that this house
it used to be occupied by the older brother and his family who are now
died all.
After he finished giving a briefing to Abil and the others regarding the position
home and a little history, teach to light a fire manually,
and tell me about what they're gonna do tomorrow, sir
Tomo said goodbye to them. But before Mr. Tomo rode away, he
ask Abil and others to understand the condition of their village which is still
lagged. To appreciate the words of Mr. Tomo, Abil and others
react with a smile accompanied by a few sentences of rebuttal. Till
then, Mr. Tomo actually went home and left
the four of them were in that old halfway house.
From tonight, Abil, Estu, Hagia and Dian should get used to it
electrics. Without lighting at night, which is only bathed
orange light from the blazing torch fire. If compared
with their lives in the city, it was clearly this was really far from what it was
the expected.

One night has passed. This morning, Abil, Hagia and Dian had already prepared
towards the old house again in accordance with the direction of Mr. Tomo yesterday
nightly. Just waiting for Estu to finish the shower.
While waiting, Abil climbed a swing whose position was not far from
in front of the house. A simple swing made by hooking it
on a medium-sized tree. And while riding the swing,
Abil saw Estu coming out of the bathroom. Then the four of them went straight
towards the house after.
In contrast to yesterday night, this morning Abil and the others were shocked when
walk through the village. As the four students swept their eyes
around, they were surprised by the sight of several doors
the people who hung human fingers there. Grindingly
forehead, they look at each other with grimacing faces and
started wondering. An example is Hagia, she asked 3
his friend said, "That's the hanging..?. a real human finger?"
hagia asked just now with horror.
The moment they came here yesterday, the dark light of night slowly enveloped
villages. Which finally made the scenery at that time become faint. And time
the dawn was now stretched, and they could see the sight
who is in that village. And one of them is
a clear sight of human fingers hanging on
some of the entrances of the houses.
When Abil, Estu, Hagia and Dian arrived at the old man's house, they too
immediately asked about the human finger to Mr. Tomo who
they were there before they came. But in a relaxed manner
Mr. Tomo answered the question by saying, "It's okay.
Don't think about it. It's just one of the traditions of this village.
People who have died will usually have their fingers cut off
the family, to serve as a memento before being buried."
The custom of getting roses that these students do before entering the village alone
it's awkward. Now, they found another irregularity that happened
in the village. But instead of worrying about it let alone arriving
debating it, Abil and who choose indifferent to it. Noth
they were apathetic, only they were reluctant to clash with
all villagers are against it. So rather than looking for trouble,
they prefer to find safety. And now, the students started
walking follows Mr. Tomo to get around the village.
Like a tour guide, Mr. Tomo went around at once telling
Abil and the others about all the things in the village. Dian tried too
took the initiative to record all the information that came out of Mr. Tomo's lips to
in a note. The only information that escapes and makes
Dian wondered at this moment was about the villagers looking on
cynical when he saw the existence of Abil, Estu, Hagia and Dian there.
Maybe the villagers don't like it if there's an outsider coming in
their environment. Dian tried to understand that, then
pretending not to realize it. Even if there are people who make an impression
well, it was an old geezer who had just smiled at
Dian. But instead of returning the grandfather's smile, Dian was
turning his face away, being afraid of the smile that grandfather had seen
it's gruesome.
And as they began to leave the settlement of the citizens to enter further into
in the forest, they were greeted by a banyan tree
big in there. High and lush leaves are not playing. Hagia and Dian
he started shaking all over his body as he looked. And not far away
nearby grows another banyan tree whose size is not so large.
There's no special story around here, therefore Mr. Tomo directly
continue the journey towards the back of the forest a little more until.
Arriving at the end of the forest, now a bottomless abyss was welcoming
their arrival. And what Mr. Tomo said was true,
the only way to get into the village is from the south side.
Because besides the south, everything is a ravine.
Long story short, they had finally finished touring the village. Now Mr. Tomo,
Abil and the others were back in the old house.
When they returned, the old son-in-law had prepared them breakfast
morn. Although it was only potluck food, the four students started
eat it with raven. After finishing breakfast, to four
the student began discussing their work program with Mr. Tomo, sir
Bimo, and The Sepuh. Previous proposals Abil, Estu, Hagia and
Dian made, they began to discuss in front of the important people of this village.
Refuting each other's opinions is inevitable. But
in the end, the conclusion of the meeting this time went smoothly and
giving birth to an important agenda in the future.
Not long after, still in the old man's house, they all
I hear a loud noise from outside the house. The sound of screaming accompanied by crying
it surprised everyone who was there. With
in droves, the surrounding residents ran towards the place of the matter, no
except for the elderly and all his guests.
SERIATE.
