Hope Like an Angel

Hope Like an Angel
Unjust

They took everything from me.

I should do the same. My grudge will be delivered immediately, to the monsters.

...***...

Present-day.

I landed on a wide street, at night doing missions. Cutting off the head of the black monster with my sword. The creature was instantly reduced to dust. There are so many numbers that must be eliminated.

On the right, the streets were filled with three monsters my height. Straight away, I ran and exterminated all three. It disappeared too, to dust, to run out.

"Here!" Huh uh? Someone found a little boy, ten years old holding a stitch doll, he came out of the little house, it seemed like the doll was made by himself.

"Don't leave me..." He's got my uniform on his arm. Too bad.

"Just calm. All the creepy creatures here will die once they stare at me." I smiled confidently, clenching my hands. The boy was hiding behind my feet, afraid to see the two little monsters in front there with his short hands raised high.

"Hgm." I used the position of the sturdy horses, preparing to swing.

SRETT! My feet darted forward, running as agile as an angry tiger. THE JRASSSH! Both monsters disappeared once.

The srek! Suddenly, my legs were wrapped around something.

"!" Behind was a black monster that extended its hands like an octopus, tying my legs perfectly ...

BUKS! He slammed me once, made their land. BUKS! Twice. My head feels dizzy. How do I get off?!

As the final slam was about to be pulled over, my fellow soldiers quickly cut off his arm. SLASHY! SLASHY! CRASS! His arms and legs were cut off, and his head was cut off, and the monster was reduced to dust.

"Thank you." I who rubbed the dirty soil on the cheeks said, he nodded.

"We have to take him away. Hey Falisha, you take her to headquarters." He hugged the little man. Eh? What did the soldier say?

"Why should I?!" It's good, I'm here to be tasked with slaughtering monsters, not bringing a child home!

"Come on, it's not far, really. Just-"

"Just two kilometers, far enough!" I cut his sentence, stood up again brandishing the sword.

"YYYRUU!!!" The cry of monsters came, like it was about to split the seven heavens, deafening.

WOOSH! WOOSH! I avoided both attacks, CRAT! Stabbed stomach.

"YYYRUU!!!" Monsters growl in pain, SLASH! I managed to cut off his head. "You take him to the base! I can slaughter all these fucking monsters!" I followed the soldier who now carries his little boy.

"No, you bring her home, Falisha." The soldier said firmly, I looked at him in disbelief.

"Why?! Why me, huh?!" While killing the little monsters, I approached them both.

"You're still a teenager. Not to die for any mission. I want people like you to feel happiness when all the monsters are dead!" Soldiers exclaiming presumptuously. Although it was a little pressured because the little boy was still glaring in fear.

Ha. "Happiness."

CRAS!!! This time I did not stare at the enemy, just swung my sword in that direction. The monster that was about to attack instantly died, its body split apart.

"My happiness has been taken. There's no more such thing in my life." I spoke more subtly, looking at him flat.

Silent for a while, leaving the voice of the other soldiers trying to kill the monsters, completing the mission. We both looked at each other.

Looking at the little boy, his face was terrified, sweat filled every inch of his limbs, and others. I feel like I'm reminiscing about that past. When my happiness was taken away.

...

I clenched my hands. "All right, I'll take him. But promise me that this mission will be completed immediately." I carried the little boy, and bowed respectfully.

"Give him to us!" The soldier smiled widely, advancing to attack the monster behind me.

"Hold tight." My words are straight. Then, I ran away, carrying the boy carrying the doll past the black creatures whose attacks I had managed to avoid.

My name is Falisha, woman. I'm sixteen years old.

The streets here are deserted, it's nighttime. There is a special rule: Citizens, people, officials, councils, no one can go out at night except for the troops. The monsters were stronger after sunset.

"How... how is happiness taken away, brother?"

"Huh?" I was astonished to look at him, while jumping and leaving behind a dark creature that was chasing me. Their speed is lost.

"So Brother said, Brother's happiness has been taken away? What does that mean?" The boy asked again, why is that suddenly the topic?

"You won't understand." I answered casually, looking back to the front so as not to stumble or hit something until we both fell.

"LOOOOOOOOO!!!" The monster's cry sounded again, but the troops near me cut it down.

"I'm surprised, Brother. Brother didn't want to help me until the soldier mentioned the word 'happiness', so I wanted to know. Maybe the reason you want to take me away is worth understanding as a saved person." The little boy said again, sounding smarter. Be present! Why should the current generation be too smart, anyway?!

I exhaled a heavy breath. "You seriously want to know?" Still running fast past the enemies.

Boy gagging.

...***...

Eight years ago. Daytime.

I was relaxing in everyone's flagship place during a bad mood. Happiness Park. Or usually I call the Triangle Park, because it is a triangle shape. Decorated with beautiful grass, the place also tends to be crowded. With the bright light of the sun, this place became the most beautiful park in the world.

I sat on one of the chairs, leaning my head with my hands.

Why am I in a bad mood? Because I lost a math race. This little girl, me, always ranked first in school, her grades and skills were perfect. But losing a math race against a kid my age named Raphael.

"Ohhh..." L'm limp. Why lose, huh? Raphael... how good is he?

"You come here too? Wh why? You won that race. Champion one." I said annoyed. Staring at the man who was standing leisurely.

"I just wanted to apologize. To be honest, my attitude there was a bit annoying." Raphael with his tidy hair and awake face let out a small laugh, sitting beside me.

A few days earlier, Mom had taught me to be more understanding about other people's feelings. So I decided to ask him something.

"Raphelle..."

"Just call Raf, Raphael's too long, right?" He cut my sentence, chuckling again.

"Where's your house? And how did your method of learning win the race? Who are your Mom and Dad?"

...

The answer surprised me.

"What?!" I screamed loudly, making some people wonder at me.

"It was a week ago, Fal. My mother and father were killed by 'Monster'." Raphael was still smiling. Why...why can she not cry after talking like that?!

...

Monsters...

The news was a long time ago, but some people considered it a myth. Cases of missing people on the news appear many times, so I believe it. Two weeks ago there was a rule that you should never leave the house at night, whatever it is. So I just follow.

What a pity Raphael...

"I don't know what it's like to live without parents, Raf. Sorry if I was wrong." I said while looking down. Raphael just waved his hand.

Now I understand what it feels like, Mother said. Not all life is understandable. I can't think of myself as being too smart. Moreover, it is excessive like this just because of losing the race. Raphael was better, casually accepting the circumstances. Even apologizing to me that shouldn't have been done...

After a few conversations and jokes, I was able to conclude that Raphael was a good boy, only that he was humorous and often smiled. Half an hour later, we both decided to go home. Raphael says he's being cared for by his nanny right now.

At 19:20, at night. My home.

"Yes! Happy birthday, Falisha!" Dad's preparing a cake on the table. Clap hands cheerfully.

Mom nudged my skin. "Mother's son is big, nih!" She gave a wide grin, I leaned cutely on her shoulder, sitting next to her by the dining table staring at the delicious chocolate cake.

Mom and Dad are everything to me. Dad was never mad at me, rich and humble. He always buys me food if I'm upset about something, takes me to the playground if I cry even if I don't ask, his face is also very handsome for his old age. What an angel, he is.

And Mother, she's the most perfect living thing on earth. Not to mention its nature that can make all hearts calm. Always smiling, joking at people who are hurting, refreshing the atmosphere if it is bland, I am very lucky to have a family like this.

"Eh, presents!" I patted my forehead, because the race was a champion two and I got a prize, but it was left in the car.

I rushed down from the chair.

"It's okay, let's just let me." He followed, directly opening the door of the house, running small out.

Kan, he really is a good father

"DORGAS, FALISHA!!!" Mom suddenly pushed me down, telling me to hide behind the curtain.

The lights suddenly went out, black, I couldn't see anything.

Sreth! I nimblely ran to the back, I covered my entire body with light-colored curtains by the window. I can still see Mom's shadow.

He was stabbed, by someone. It looks like a monster, wearing a fedora hat.

Then, the murderous figure left. With my legs shaking and my brain still thinking what the hell is going on, I stuck myself with Mom's body drooping, glaring, eyes wide open. Blood came out until it gathered on my leg.

"I... Mum...?" My whole body was shaking, I looked at him in disbelief. Twenty seconds ago, I was happy to eat a birthday cake. Why....why is it like this...?

"FALISHA!!!" Dad took me away, out of the house. It's raining down here, my neat clothes and Dad's soaking wet. On the streets very noisy and chaotic, deafening, the citizens ran in panic, crying out for worry.

"I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE MOM! MOTHER WHY, DADDY?!"

"I DON'T KNOW!"

"WHO ARE WE RUNNING FROM?!"

"I DON'T KNOW!" My father and I exchanged thoughts, still confused as to what was really going on.

I can't believe this... Mother was alone in the house, she was dead...

I arrived on a quieter street, still being carried away by Father.

Crews! Suddenly, the sound of footsteps from the dense trees on the right came.

"Falisha, go." He let go of his hold, made me free.

"No! I don't want to leave Dad!"

"GO!!! GET OUT OF HERE!!!" DORR!!! The sound of Dad's cry beat the lightning that struck. My ears hurt when I hear both.

There was no other choice. With wrought legs and a great cry, I darted away from Dad.

CRAT!!! The sound of flesh being cut off at the back was suddenly present. Don't-don't. It was Dad who was killed, too...

"NO!!!" I dare not look back, running messily forward. The rain was perfect on my whole body and clothes. Everything was smashed. The cries of all the people trying to escape are still there.

Ten minutes I ran alone, non-stop. Now I'm just a little girl stranded in a place I don't know. I don't know where I'm going up here, but it's still the same. The conditions were raining and all the people were anxiously exclaiming, shouting, moving to and fro. Some mothers leave their children. Some slaves killed their master at a time like this. Messy, what an apocalypse.

Buk up! Just like that, I pat, faint. My whole body was weak, I lay in the middle of the road, stepped on by some people, just let it go...

That's where my happiness was taken for all eternity by the Fedora Hat Monster.

I'm gonna kill him. Sure. Someday...
