The little girl spread out her hands while smiling widely upon seeing my arrival. Without hesitation I greeted the girl and hugged her, as if we had not seen each other for a long time.
"Aunty's thinking doesn't come anymore."
Her voice sounded so cheerful in my ears, she then took off her embrace and dragged my hand before I returned her words.
"Come, Auntie and Play."
The little girl who called herself Tata took me to her room, I could see that her father was just staring at us while shaking his head.
Arriving in Tata's room showed her the toy she had played at the table. There were paper dolls complete with her clothes, the number was around six or seven dolls. Some of them have been worn dresses that are also from paper.
I followed the little girl to sit in front of the table, unpacking the clothes that were already attached to the red-haired doll. Then replace it with another model dress.
"Is this his house?"
The girl showed me a pink house that used to be on Barbie dolls. Then I invited the girl to make a house toy with the contents of cardboard.
Whenever I managed to make something out of cardboard she would clap her hands, like making a bed or a dresser. The little girl then arranged all the wishes I made earlier, until I remembered to ask her something.
"Can Aunt ask Tata?"
The girl nodded without stopping the movement of her hands, her eyes glancing at me.
"Have school yet?" I asked carefully.
"It."
"Oh, yeah, what class?"
"First grade."
"Today, why not school?"
Tata stopped his hand movements, the look on his face suddenly turned moody. I shuffled to approach him who was sobbing.
"Why, honey?" I grabbed the little girl.
"Friends of evil Tata, they say Tata doesn't have a mother. Though Tata's mama, right, again work."
My heart is sliced, it's fitting that he doesn't want to go to school anymore. Apparently he got bullied from his friends at school.
"Want to go to school again, right?"
The girl's head shook her head, she still sobbed in my arms.
"I don't want to go to school if his friends are all bad."
"Yes, later Aunt will talk to Papa, yes, now Tata do not cry anymore. It's gonna be beautiful, gone, you know."
Ananta had taken a nap after fatigue playing, fortunately he had eaten first before going to bed. After making sure the girl was asleep I came out of her room. In the middle room there is already Bu Rahmi who sits while reading a book.
This old lady often complained of pain in her waist, which was why Mr. Alvin was looking for people to accompany Ananta.
"Was the eyes asleep?" The woman took down her reading book as she watched me sitting on the sofa in front of her.
"Yes, I've."
"Thank God, you can rest while waiting for him to wake up."
Of course I refused, there was no way I could sleep in someone else's house. Especially working like this.
"There's something I'd like to ask you about Tata, ma'am."
"What?"
"How long has Tata not been in school?"
Rahmi breathed out, and she put the book she read on the table.
"Since her parents divorced, since her school friends often make fun of her for not having a mother."
"Sir Alvin asked me to persuade Ananta that he would go to school again, would he?"
"We'll try, I want Ananta back to what he used to be."
Ananta refused to let me go home the next afternoon, he even cried as much as he wanted to ask the father to let me stay longer. Actually I feel sorry for that little girl, only I have my own life.
"Tante came home first yes, tomorrow here again to play with Tata."
I squatted my body in alignment with her little body, she still sobbed. The girl stopped crying when her father promised to take us for a walk the next day.
"Auntie promised, yes, tomorrow here again?"
"Yes, honey."
Finally the little girl complied. He went into the house with his grandmother. I was being driven home by Mr. Alvin. I was going to go home by myself by ordering a taxi online, but I haven't had time to get out of this man's house already come first.
"There's something I want to talk to you about."
I looked at the man who was focusing on driving his car.
"What?" Ask without distracting.
"So I've talked to Ananta if the reason he doesn't want to go to school is because his friends often bully."
This man let out a long sigh, for a moment he was silent. Maybe feel guilty about what his daughter has to go through.
"It's all my fault, I should have been able to control my ego back then." Mr. Alvin is seen clutching the wheel, he blames himself.
"For now I can't persuade Ananta, because when I invited the little girl to go back to school she was terrified."
The car stopped at a red light and the man squeezed the steering wheel even more, he even lowered his head until he touched the steering wheel. For the first time I saw an Alvin Paranjaya in this fragile state.
Usually when in the office he will show his attitude as a leader who is firm and full of authority. Sometimes, though, we employees call ourselves dictators.
However, today he showed the other side in her. Of course, I can understand because actually all humans, whether they are men or women, have their own weaknesses. And the weakness of an Alvin Paranjaya is his own daughter.
I myself can't do much, as an employee my only duty is to carry out the employer's orders. If I go too far, I think I'm too involved in his business. After successfully controlling himself, this man then drove his car back.
"You have the best advice, don't you?"
"What if for a while Ananta comes homeschooling."
I tried to give the idea that came to my head, because I had heard that children can still go to school from home. Bringing in teachers to teach them without having to meet face to face with other students.
"It looks interesting, I'll try to persuade Ananta. Thank you, Ran."
The car that Mr. Alvin drove down not far from my house, I forgot to tell him that I had to drive to the office to get my bike.
"It's okay, someone will drive your bike home." He said before I got out of the car.
I finally nodded, after the man thanked him, he turned to his house. I walked a little quickly to the house, hand reaching for the bag to find the key. Until suddenly someone stood in my way, waiting for me with his cynical gaze.
