Half A Heart's

Half A Heart's
Chapter 5's

"Pardon me for failing to be a good parent to you" - Papa

"How are you doing, son?"

The contents of the message from Papa so, Evan did not want to answer it.

Although his cold demeanor slowly began to erode, his hatred towards Papa was still ingrained as ever. Mother Dian's family treats Evan as her biological child, their attention to Evan is divided equally between Evan, Naura and the future baby. Because Mother is told to be pregnant who is already three months old.

Simple right? but that's what fills the void in Evan.

"Evan is coming? to the doctor to check your pregnancy?"

"No, Evan's at home."

"Well, then Naura doesn't have to come. He's still sleeping pity if built up."

"Yes, Naura let Evan."

After Mom and Dad left, Evan picked up some snacks in the fridge and headed straight for the TV room and relaxed there. Unfortunately, there is no TV broadcast that entertains him, news broadcasts that always inform the problem-that's all. About a politician suddenly caught corrupting or an old grandmother sentenced to a year in prison for stealing wood, it's boring.

"Mas Evan," called Naura as she walked out of the room with her pillow face

"Naura?"

"Rara's scared."

"Kok scared?"

Naura walked up to Evan and hugged his knee.

"So Rara had a nightmare, anyway Rara was afraid."

"This is the same Mas yuk, no papa can just dream," he persuaded and carried Naura to his lap

"Naura forgot to read the prayer?"

"Hum yes, Rara fell asleep so did not stop praying."

Hearing Naura's correct answer, Evan laughed crisply as he stroked the little girl's head.

"Rara can't pinjem HP bang Evan?"

"May, but his HP's in the room. We'll take it first."

When his phone screen was turned on, Evan was astonished to see the notifications that suddenly flooded his phone.

'8 missed calls'

'5 Whattsapp Messages'

Evan believes that there must be something urgent happening, he took off Naura from his pouch and immediately checked the notification one by one.

Evans! Pick up my phone!

Adit's in the hospital!

***

Adit has been stricken with typhus since yesterday afternoon, his panic over the rejected OSIS agenda proposal, left him with no time to revise it, futsal training left Adit short of rest and sick.

"When do you go to school?"

"The longer the illness, the more unfinished the proposal."

"Shit!"

"Gue misses Zerin," Adit says, suddenly making Evan stop playing his phone.

"He knows you're hurting?"

"Humm, he's busy so I haven't seen him yet."

Evan nodded while looking at her who was staring at the white wall of the hospital. They both drowned in their own thoughts.

"Zerin didn't come here?" evan asks trying to get Adit's attention.

"I haven't heard of it yet, ****!"

"Eh forgot," answered Evan.

After a long exchange of stories, realizing that the time is almost dark, Evan decided to say goodbye to Adit.

"Gue went home first, Dit," said Evan saying goodbye.

"Well, don't forget to take your medicine."

"Get well soon."

Evan was placed on the table of fruits from Mother to Adit which he brought from home. When Evan wants to leave, Adit calls out to him.

"Gue asked for help to give this map to sektos yes," he said then give Evan a marun-colored map.

I don't know what strange feeling makes Evan suddenly not ready to meet the girl again, Why not ready? There is no story yet.

After Monday's ceremony, all the children rushed to their respective classes. Evan took off his wedding hat and flapped it towards his face.

"Evan, Bu Milda told the office" said Wildan, a classmate as she entered the class.

Evan nodded. Did he make a mistake? It felt like the entire equipment of the ceremony was complete, then why was Bu Milda looking for him?

When he arrived in front of the office, Evan was surprised to see Papa who was talking to Bu Milda.

Ms. Milda realized Evan's arrival and allowed him to enter the guest room in the office.

"What's up here?" asked Evan coldly. Papa coded to Ms. Mida to leave the two of them.

"We haven't seen each other for seven months. It's not wrong if Papa's looking for you."

"Late this week Papa's holiday, you want to not go back to our house?"

"For what? Papa sent me here."

"Two days, kid, we could spend the weekend together.

Evan remained silent.

Papa patted Evan on the shoulder and hugged the only child who missed him so much.

"Pardon Papa for failing to be a good parent to you" Papa whispered softly making Evan feel guilty for always being cold to him. When you remember that day, Papa is not one hundred percent wrong. If God's way has been so, how should we accept it, right?

"No, Pa, I have an appointment with my friends to spend some time together this weekend.

Papa smiled proudly knowing that Evan was starting to have many friends, how many changes in the child. May his wounds be lost to time.

"Yes, Papa is also happy to know you have a lot of friends now."

Evan smiles. Do they notice a warm conversation between them? Evan becomes the real Evan.
