Kylo's parents reported the incident to the police, they did not accept his son being abused by the badung children. They wanted the children to be severely punished to be deterred.
However, the perpetrators are still underage. They cannot be punished severely. This left Kylo's parents disappointed.
Kylo's condition improved after several hospital stays. He was able to go to school again as usual.
Xylona hugged Kylo. "I don't want anything bad to happen to you anymore. Don't leave me, Kylo."
Kylo smiled softly.
At the end of the semester, the Elementary School where Xylona attended school held a tour to Puncak. Kylo and Xylona are not allowed to join, but Kylo insists on joining. Xylona is not allowed to join her brother. Kylo went alone.
Xylona was worried. She begged her brother to go to the Peak after Kylo, but Drystan forbade her.
On one occasion, Xylona ran away in a taxi and asked the driver to drive her to the top. At first the driver hesitated a little, as Xylona left without an adult.
"I beg you, sir. My friend is in danger."
After the graces, Xylona arrived at the Peak. He's looking for kids in yellow uniforms who are his SD tour uniforms. He ran to and fro and kept circulating his gaze. Xylona asked every visitor.
"Sister, did you see the SD kids in yellow uniforms?"
"Yes, they're headed for the hills up there. Maybe they want to see a newly opened bamboo garden."
Xylona's feelings are starting to get bad. The little girl ran in the direction indicated by the visitor. He saw that his glasses were broken. He immediately picked it up and observed the glasses.
"The glasses belong to Kylo. He couldn't see clearly without his glasses." Xylona ran into the hills. The girl saw three children who bullied her on the hills with Kylo.
Sensing a bad reaction, Xylona ran towards the evidence of where they were. However, the girl stopped stepping as she watched Kylo fall down from the hill. The tiny body rolled into the bamboo garden under the hills.
Xylona's tears escaped. Kylo's glasses in her hands fell to the ground. The girl ran to the hills there shouting, "You guys why are doing this?! Why are you pushing Kylo?!! Why did you hurt him!!!"
The police are investigating and they are looking for Kylo. The boy was found in a bamboo garden in a lifeless state. His body fell on a spiky bamboo tree, so he died of blood loss because of it.
Kylo's parents completely fell into a slump after hearing the news. They lost their only child. Moreover, the law cannot be enforced for minors of murder perpetrators. Children under 12 years old cannot be imprisoned, let alone sentenced to death.
Due to the incident, Xylona became shocked and she lost her hearing for several months. While Drystan made a petition to prosecute the perpetrators. He is targeting 2 million consent signatures for the petition.
But unexpectedly, the petition received attention from the public and the result was signed by 10 million people.
So that the case can be brought to court. Xylona was called to be a witness. Because his hearing was impaired, he had to wear a listening device for a while.
Not many witnesses of the trial were present, only the family of the concerned who came, because the trial was a closed trial considering the victim and the perpetrator were minors. As the petitioner and witness brother, Drystan was present. They whispered to each other and guessed the judge's verdict.
The judge asked Xylona's testimony. The girl stared at the three boys who had hurt her and Kylo. All three wore masks to hide their individual identities, as they were minors.
Despite wearing masks, Xylona certainly knows them. He harbored feelings of anger and hatred towards them all this time. A lot of things ran through his head.
Xylona said, Kylo, I'm sorry. I never protected you once. I'm sorry, Kylo.
The little girl requested that the masks be removed from the faces of the three of them. Their faces are now exposed. There was fear, anxiety, worry, and panic on their faces.
Again the judge asked Xylona the same question. The girl nodded as she replied, "I saw her. They pushed Kylo to the point of falling to the bamboo garden."
"Are you sure? Who of them pushed the victim?" Ask the lawyer from the convict.
"They three. They do it at the same time. Pushing the poor Kylo because they hate Kylo. Not only that, the three of them also hurt us at school. Asking for our pocket money, when they say they're the son of a rich businessman..."
Hearing Xylona's confession, the old man of the three was shocked and did not accept. They protested Xylona's testimony.
"That's impossible, my son can't be like that. He exaggerated the matter!" Shouted the mother of one of the children.
"Please calm down, don't make any noise, or you're out of this room." The judge turned to Xylona. "Do you have any proof of your words?"
Xylona. The girl opened the 2 buttons of her shirt the most and lowered them a little. There are a lot of scratch marks, cigarette stubs, hand punches, and bite marks.
Drystan who saw that was very surprised. He doesn't know about it. Has Xylona been hiding it all this time?
The audience who also saw it looked astonished. They whispered to each other. The court room became rowdy.
The judge tapped the table with a hammer to stop the audience from making a fuss. Xylona cried and immediately buttoned back her shirt.
The second trial was continued and the judge decided the court would give the perpetrator a sentence of 5 years in prison.
The judge's decision disappointed many. Although the three of them were children, but what they did was already like a crime committed by an adult.
Xylona cries in front of Kylo's grave. Drystan rubbed his sister's shoulder. "Xylo, Brother knows you love your best friend so much, but how can you lie that much? Why are you lying? Who taught you to lie?"
Xylona. "They've crossed the line."
"Xylona, I don't believe you can lie at 9 years old." Drystan looked disappointed.
Xylona replied calmly, "My lies are no worse than killing others at their age. Even though it's a kid, they're not necessarily that innocent. It could be that children become adults faster than their age."
Drystan rubs his own hair. "To keep your false testimony in court is unjustified, Xylona."
Quietly, Xylona said, "That kind of thing cannot be allowed. If we keep quiet, they're gonna be all the more so."
Drystan closed his eyes. "Looks like you're growing up too fast, Xylo."
End that conversation.
Due to the incident that befell Kylo, the country's bully rate has been steadily decreasing. After graduating High School, Drystan took up a police academy. As a brother, he wanted to protect his sister.
** end Flashback **
Erfrain blinked his eyes several times after Drystan finished with his story.
"Why did you tell Rain this? Isn't this a secret? Do you believe in Rain?" Ask Erfrain.
Drystan smile. "Of course I trust you, Xylona will never go wrong choosing a friend. Seeing her with you, she looked the same happy when she was with Kylo back then. Xylona's smile that had not been seen for a long time, now appeared again while with you."
Erfrain did not respond. He's just listening.
"I wish you'd be Xylona's best friend."
Now I understand why that girl cares about me. She's not sincere with me, she thinks of me like her dead friend. He doesn't think of me as myself. All he saw from me was Kylo, because I was similar to that boy, inner Erfrain.
"Where do you live?"
Drystan's question made Erfrain panic in silence.
