Volume 2, Chapter 12: Don't Worry, I'm Here to Cheer You UP!, Part 1

After the reunion, Han left the hotel looking down. He still could not believe that the Haruki he knew no longer existed in this world. His face that had been very, very evil from time to time made Han forget who Haruki was.

“What happened to you, I want to know. You never told me this long, who made you look this mess? Tell me!”

Han muttered to himself with an empty stomach, as he did not have time to eat at the hotel. In a sense, Han paid without eating at that hotel and right now Han was completely starving at night. A very cold night as the strong wind made her slightly cold, Han walked like a drunken zombie. His eyes were white and his teeth trembled it made the people on the street a little afraid of him.

The frightened faces of those who saw Han made him remember that what had happened in Han's past.

“Ah, this gaze. I've seen it a lot before. I'm used to this.”

Han who continued to be seen by his surroundings was not saying many words, he had already resigned after seeing Haruki earlier. His encounter with Haruki was like opening his old wounds. But suddenly he shouted to himself in front of the many people who saw him, in a frustrated and full of resignation made many people afraid to see him.

“CAN STOP SEEING ME NO!”

When the crowd was frightened, Han saw all of them and grew more stressed himself. He finally lowered his head and kept walking towards the subway station. The train station was already in front of his eyes, and he remained drowned.

When he got to the station, he went down and entered the entrance. Han hoped not to meet anyone inside the carriage, he did not want to look pitiful in front of his friends. But he forgot, that there was one person who always boarded the train.

Yoru

“That woman, whom I knew from an accident. Will he be on this train? Hahaha, I don't want to meet him at this time.”

Suddenly there was a woman who asked that in a confused tone. The woman was wearing a baseball cap, t-shirt, knee-length skirt and flip-flops. The woman was drinking boba and began to speak in a subtle tone.

“It seems, the woman you know from the accident is here.”

Han suddenly turned his head towards the woman who was drinking innocently, he with that look of despair called out his name.

“Yo-Yoru? Why are you here?”

Yoru who looked at Han's desperate face was replying to him casually. Her tsundere side was still nowhere to be seen, Han who saw that Yoru saw that Yoru was quite sweet by dressing like that.

“Hmm, I'm tired of it actually. There is a new boba store just opened in Xingxi Mall, so I went there aja.”

“Oh, so.”

The two of them ended up going to that carriage, a silent carriage and no one, on Christmas Eve which was very empty for Han. Han was just squeezed and sitting on the passenger bench made Yoru come to sit next to him.

Yoru who saw Han like that made her think

“What should I do? He looked limp and desperate. Did he suffer again like yesterday? Maybe I should offer my drink.”

Yoru finally began to offer her drink, her face timid and stretched out her hand holding the drink towards Han.

“I-This is my drink, you want to try?”

Han had no reaction at all, he just lowered his head to drown leaving Yoru confused. Yoru pulled out her drink and started looking at her phone. Suddenly there was a basketball game video that Tobe had aired in Ourtube, Yoru then showed his phone to Han.

“Han, it's you, right? I just knew you were this great.”

Han who saw Yoru's mobile phone suddenly focused his eyes and began to grab Yoru's mobile phone quickly. Yoru, on the other hand was also angry at Han, with a high tone she scolded Han for returning her phone.

“K RETURN MY HANDPHONE!”

“---”

Han still had no reaction, making Yoru even more annoyed and scolding him once more.

“K RETURN MY HANDPHONE, HAN!”

“---”

Han who had no reaction made Yoru annoyed.

He then scolded her again by slapping Han's cheek hard. The slapped Han suddenly let out his tears making Yoru feel sad. Yoru picks up her phone and sees the continuation of the video and when she sees the follow-up of the video, she sees the incident that happened to Nagi. Yoru was immediately startled by that and saw that still desperate Han.

“You knew this was going to happen?”

“A-A-I saw it myself.”

Yoru then exhaled and began to apologize to Han for what he said earlier. Her delicate tone was spoken from the tone of Yoru back then.

“Hey, I'm sorry for what I said. Does it hurt you?”

Han who saw Yoru was just speechless in tears, he turned his head and wiped the tears that came out of his eyes. He then replied to Yoru in a sad tone.

“It's okay. I'm sorry too, I snatched your phone.”

Yoru who heard that Han started asking once more and she demanded that Han reply honestly. Yoru wanted to get to know Han further, even further than before.

“What happened in your reunion? Answer me honestly!”

Han who was listening to it only looked limp, he wanted to speak yet he was unable. He tried to talk, looked stressed, and his tone faltered. Han wanted to tell that to Yoru, but his eyes were pale and he was speechless, he wanted to write but his hands froze and refused him to write anything.

“T-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-..”

Yoru who saw Han was just speechless and started holding onto Han's cheek, she wanted Han to see it and calm down a little.

“Han, relax! It's just the two of us and you can tell me everything. Okay?”

Han who saw Yoru finally calmed down a little, Han finally started to tell a story with a little sadness.

“Yor, am I pathetic?”

“Mmm, no, no, no. You are not a pathetic person in my eyes.”

“I was at the reunion.”

“Iya, I know it.”

“A-A-I met the woman who haunted my past. I MET HIM! I MET HIM! I'M GONE CRAZY! I DON'T WANT TO MEET HIM! I'M TI-”

Suddenly, Yoru hugged him and stroked his head. The completely chaotic Han started to calm down and his tears came out, Han sobbed and completely calmed down as Yoru hugged him.

“Yosh, relax. I understand your feelings, already don't let it haunt you.”

“Di-She really hates me ta-without a-I know the reason!”

“It's okay, I don't hate you. Me, I love you.”

Han who heard that suddenly stopped crying and his face was completely flat. He did not expect that Yoru would say that.

“Wait a minute, repeat again.”

“A-I love you. Is something wrong?”

The shocked Han suddenly just fell silent, he was really confused by that awkward situation.

“One more time, did I not hear wrong?”

“Mooo! Shameful to know! I LOVE YOU!”

Han who was listening to it only smiled, he felt that in his life there were only 4 companions who really understood about him; naoto, Jun, Ryuu, and Tobe. He did not want to believe the crowd anymore actually, but Yoru managed to pierce through Han's cold heart. The calm Han came out from Yoru's embrace and she smiled slightly.
