Chapter 38

Leo invites Dion to meet at a restaurant with a private room. She can't help it anymore to figure out why she gave Celina the drugs.

"You're coming too."

Dion walked casually into the room, then sat down across from Leo. Leo immediately handed me a paper and a pill bottle that he had taken from Celina. Dion raised his eyebrows.

"What's this?"

"I should have asked, what does all this mean?"

Dion took the paper and read the contents. He was not surprised at all.

"What do you want to know?"

"Why did you give Celina such a drug?"

"Like what? It's the psychiatrist's medicine."

"It's drugs, damn it! Don't try to be tickle anymore." Leo got up and pulled the collar of Dion's shirt.

"Well, what should I explain if you know." Dion was not intimidated at all.

"Why? Why did you give that to Celina?"

Leo hit him but Dion didn't fight back or dodge. He just grinned making Leo grow furious. But Leo chose to leave with the paper and pills.

Highlight Dion's eyes turned sharply eerie staring at Leo's departure.

Leo came to the office with a cold face as usual, but in his eyes there was a burning rage.

"Where are you from?" Devan asked because Leo didn't tell him it was too late.

Leo did not answer, he quickly sat down and turned on his computer.

"Lo nemuin Dion?" guess Devan.

Leo took out a pen and pressed the pen head. There was the sound of a conversation between Leo and Dion in the restaurant. Devan listened carefully, as did Mia.

"Damn it, he's really crazy. She easily said dear to Celina."

"But why don't you go straight to the police?"

"As you can hear, he'll pass the cctv tape to the police and eventually Celina will be made a suspect. We can't give this to the police before we find evidence that Dion is poisoned to lo." Leo said it with emotion.

"Lo's sure Dion did it?"

"What do you mean?"

"Lo knows we don't have any evidence that points to Dion, everything points to Celina."

"What are you trying to say, huh? You want to tell me if Celina really put the poison in your drink?"

"But Celina could have done it under the influence of the hallucinogens she was drinking."

Mia panics seeing Leo about to hit Devan. He quickly held back Leo's already raised hand.

"That's it, Leo! It's in the office." Leo kicked Devan.

"Where can you talk about this at the office? What if someone hears you and sees you like this?" Mia's words can make Leo and Devan return to their respective seats.

Mia walks into the freezer in the room and picks up two canned drinks, then gives Leo and Devan one each.

"You can discuss this again later after the office hours are over."

Devan took the drink.

"Thank you." Chugged it.

"Leo!" Mia admonished Leo who was silent, still very emotional.

"Hmm." then Leo also grabbed the canned drink, opened it and then downed it. He crumpled his can to a dent and threw it hard into a trash can near his desk.

"Lo has to say thank you to Mia." said Devan.

"Dev!" Mia scolds Devan because she teases Leo.

"Sad." Leo got up from his chair. "Gue permission didn't come in today." Then walk away.

"Heh you think you can come and go as you please. This is my office, motherfucker!!" Devan yelled at Leo but was not responded to at all. But, before actually leaving the room Leo turned his head.

"I was considered a truant anyway, so you can cut my pay today."

Bugh.. Leo closed the door pretty hard.

"Look at her behavior, Mia. He has absolutely no respect for me as his superior." Devan is like a child complaining to his mother.

"I saw it. But you better not say that to Leo again. I'm sure you'd do the same if I were accused, like you accused Celina."

"But I'm just saying the facts are in plain sight."

"Yes I know. But it's best to give Leo a chance to prove his conjecture. If it's not proven, then you can file a report with the police." Mia says it while rubbing Devan's back.

"But..."

"Didn't you promise to be more heartened? Do it now, do it to the person closest to you for the first time. Leo, your relationship is not just a superior and subordinate"

"Yes, he's my best friend who I've taken for granted like my brother."

"I'm sure Leo feels the same way. He would not likely let the person who had poisoned his best friend roam free. He won't betray you."

"Yes, you're right. I have to believe it."

Mia smiling.

"Thank you, Mia. You are wise. How lucky I am to have you."

Devan hugged Mia tightly, and Mia returned the favor. He was happy to be able to make Devan calm through his words.
