12. Danced

Brianna shakes. He rejected Arthur's offer without a second thought, and he did not even acknowledge the man's words at all. Ignoring Arthur, as it has been.

Seeing that, without a word Arthur immediately stepped on the accelerator until his car sped up leaving Brianna in front of the Resort. Arthur is upset by Brianna's refusal, but he has lowered his ego to invite the woman to go together.

"Always annoying," sizzled Arthur while driving his car to the venue of the event carried by Gerard Smith.

Arthur arrived at the place a short time later. He tidied up his suit, then entered the event lobby. He's looking for Gerard, but he hasn't been seen there.

"Arthur?!"

Arthur turned his head and found Harry, his college friend, at the same event.

"Harry? Whoa, how are you?"

"As you can see. I'm very kind" Harry replied with a chuckle. "You have business in London? I thought you were in Canada," he said later.

"Well, there's a little business here. I've also been to New York for a few days."

"You're not back in Canada?"

Arthur shook his head, "I'll be back there, of course."

Harry patted Arthur's shoulder intimately. "Do you know about Mathius and Leon?" tanyakanya.

"Let's know, I haven't communicated with them in a long time, including you."

"Well, me too. But I hear Leon's in Sweden now. He's married" Harry said.

"Huhahah. Well, that's good for him." Arthur sniffed his shoulders indifferently.

"You yourself? Don't you want to get married?" ask Harry again.

"Me?" Arthur chuckled loudly. "Even think about it never," he admitted.

"Then, you should start thinking about it from now on, Arthur."

"You speak like a married man" replied Arthur lazily.

Harry laughed softly. "I'm not married yet, but I've been thinking about it and planning it."

"Woa .. I hope you get married soon then."

Harry only smiled a thin smile and invited Arthur to enjoy the drinks available there. They talk about each other's daily life.

"I'll go to the toilet first." Harry retreated for a moment from before Arthur who Arthur replied with a nod.

Along with that, Gerrard Smith attended and greeted all the guests who had come there. However, Arthur's gaze no longer towards the man who still had a relative relationship with him, because now he actually saw a woman who entered the room in a black dress wrapped in her body.

Brianna opened her velvet coat as soon as she entered the venue. He walked slowly and seemed confused because no one knew him there. Without even realizing it, a pair of eyes had been staring at him ever since he got there.

"You arrived too." The voice made Brianna stare, Arthur was already standing in front of him with a slanted smile of his trademark.

Brianna again ignored, he wanted to walk to an empty table but his steps stopped when he felt if his arm was blocked by someone.

"Come in with me" Arthur sizzled beside Brianna's body.

"If I don't want to. Why why?"

Arthur grinned, the woman even challenged him.

"I'll make sure you'll regret it." Arthur threatened.

"Repent in what, huh?" Brianna looked down on.

"I'll make sure you don't work tomorrow."

Brianna is silent, if he is fired then he will be detached from Arthur, but Arthur is not the boss who has the right to fire him.

"You have no right to govern me, my superior is Mrs. Jane is not you," Brianna replied indifferently.

Arthur chose to follow Brianna's steps and without permission sat in front of the woman who had dropped her bo kong on a chair there.

"Maybe I don't have the right to fire you, but I'll make sure you resign tomorrow."

Brianna clenched her hand, the man in front of her was still willing to discuss the matter earlier. Brianna was silent with an annoyed and arrogant heart. Especially now that Arthur sat down at a table with him. Brianna thinks if Arthur can make him resign then the consequences he has to pay the penalty fee, of course Brianna does not want to. It's better that he be fired, rather than resign before his term expires. Ah, she's dizzy now.

"Hallo, you've arrived ..." Gerard greets Brianna and Arthur there.

"Yes, Mr. Smiths. Thank you for the invitation" Brianna said.

Gerard sat down by Brianna's side. "Yes, nice to invite you here. Have you tasted the food?" tanyakanya.

Brianna nodded with a smile on her lips.

Arthur gulps his drink at the sight of Gerard and Brianna's interaction. He was silent without saying anything.

"Will you dance with me?" Gerard questioned Brianna's willingness, while Arthur glared at the man's words.

Brianna immediately shook her head as Gerard asked her to dance.

"Sorry, Sir. I can't dance" he replied.

"Cannot be. Comeon!" take Gerard a little pushy.

Brianna hesitates if she refuses a second time until she finally agrees.

"I borrowed it first, Arthur," said Gerard, glancing one eye at Arthur.

Arthur was silent. Not giving any response. Not even to prohibit.

Arthur sees Gerard holding Brianna slowly until he arrives in the middle of the dance floor. The music turned into a soft groove and the two men came close together to start a dance movement.

Arthur notices Gerard and Brianna from his position. I don't know why his jaw is hardened seeing the scenery there. Gerard and Brianna looked harmonious and danced to the rhythm of the music played. Gerard's hand held Brianna's waist, even though Brianna seemed to hold Gerard's fingers.

Arthur downed his drink in one gulp. Until finally a pat on his shoulder made him realize it was Harry.

"Mrs. Smith is good at choosing women" Harry chuckled at Arthur.

"He is famous for his expertise on that one thing" Harry continued.

Arthur clenched his hand to what he himself did not know.

"Let's bet, will the girl end up in her bed?" said Harry who continued to chatter without waiting for a response from Arthur.

Inwardly, Arthur chuckles as Harry mentions the word 'girl' to Brianna. Harry must not have realized that the woman who danced with Gerard there was Brianna, the woman they used to hang out with on campus and ended up with a one-night relationship with Arthur. Of course Harry knew that too, what happened to Arthur and Brianna that night, 4 years ago.

"No ..." Arthur suddenly replied.

"What do you mean by 'no'?" Harry turned his head to Arthur to hear the man's clear answer.

"Gerard will not succeed in taking the woman to his bed" he replied calmly with eyes fixed on the two people still dancing there.

"No girl or woman can resist Gerard Smith's charm" Harry said.

"The woman will reject him because she would rather end up in my bed" Arthur replied and Harry chuckled.

"Wait, are you interested in that girl?" ask Harry to make sure he doesn't hear Arthur wrong. "I thought she was beautiful" she continued.

Arthur chuckles. "I? Interested in her?" He shook his head. "I'm just interested in working on it" he said.

"Then prove it!" challenge Harry.

Arthur grinned, wasn't he really going to prank Brianna as soon as they arrived in London?
