First Love of Kalila

First Love of Kalila
Eps. 24

Ibrahim Adi Putra Point of View

With the last name Adi Putra, a little bit of a burden for me. I am the oldest grandson in the family. Grandpa and Grandma have only two children. My father— Gilang Adi Putra, and his mother Dimas— Ghita Adi Putra.

And now, as grandchildren in the Adi Putra family, Dimas and I will continue our extended family business. Inevitably, the running of the company is on the shoulders of both of us. And unfortunately again, both me and Dimas, were the only children of both our parents.

My dream to devote myself to being a teacher in the abandoned area, I had to bury it deeply.

Until one day, I tried to apply to become a teacher at one of the famous tutoring centers. I was only 16 years old. I became the youngest tutor.

From then on, the days I spent were just full of learning and teaching. I really like it— learn and teach.

Five years have passed ... Since my first day as a tutor.

Now, I have to leave the job that I love, because I have to continue my master's education abroad. As per the family tradition, just like my father who took a master's degree abroad, so did I.

Being in the ranks of the 10 best architect universities in the world, the National University of Singapore (NUS), became my goal. My father also studied in the same place, at that time.

I even took two master programs. Architecture and Business. Can you imagine? My days will certainly only be spent by studying as much in the land of lions.

Yes .. I have always loved to learn. Learn whatever it is. Studying science is really fun. Learning has been so much fun for me, a long time ago. I was always surrounded by books.

A lady?

I never had a close friend of a woman, until now— at my twentieth age. They don't seem to like me very much. So do I. I'm not too interested in those women. Even some of the women my family introduced me to.

Until a girl reached out to me, introducing herself.

“Kalila Nasution, his future teacher Abang later.”

For some reason, his speech and behavior stole my attention.

Kalila Nasution's.

The younger brother of my mentor and best friend— Khalid Nasution. I often see Kalila's face plastered in every social media post Bang Khalid. I finally met him. Brother's pride, from the person I already consider to be my own brother. I always thought of Kalila as my sister.

Not after meeting him. After shaking hands with him. Kalila really caught my attention. But I'm not the only one who seems interested in him. Dimas was too.

My cousin was even very close to her. No wonder, because Dimas is someone who is easy to get along with. Not like me. Dimas is a nice guy. I have many friends, both men and women. Life's perfect. Except one. Grandpa and grandmother did not like him, because Dimas was born without a father. Ghita's aunt marries the man who impregnated her, then is left for granted. Even Aunt Ghita did not remarry afterwards.

I was silent for a long time, when Dimas excitedly told me about Kalila. He even planned a vacation with the Kalila family at Puncak. I decided to give up at that moment.

But, since the separation of me and Kalila at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. When the girl returned to her hometown, there was a sense of obstruction, when she knew Kalila was leaving. I feel lost.

Until one day, I heard the news that Bang Khalid was going to return to the city of Medan. I asked my father and grandfather for permission to postpone my departure to Singapore.

“You really want to come to Medan, Ba?” It seems that Bang Khalid was really surprised by my desire to come to his hometown.

“I want to vacation before my schedule is congested with two master programs that Bang. Lake Toba .. said it was very beautiful. It would be nice to go on vacation with your brother.” family

“Ya .. I will take you to enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba. The largest volcanic lake in the world. Kalila also really likes Lake Toba.”

Bang Khalid smiled. So do I. Bang Khalid and I planned the activities that we would do in sana— in Medan and surrounding areas.

“I will also take you around the historical places in Medan City. Maimoon Palace and Al-Mashun Grand Mosque. You'll be happy. If I don't have time to deliver, I'll have Kalila accompany you. Let him learn to be a tour guide,” said Bang Khalid.

Thank goodness Bang Khalid sounded excited. I was not happy because I would ride for one week at the Nasution family's residence. However, it turned out that was what Bang Khalid had expected.

“You I've taken for granted like my own sister, Ba. Don't hesitate. Our whole family will be happy too. Especially Kalila.” I laughed a little at Bang Khalid's statement.

I know they're close enough now. I often watched Dimas talk to Kalila on a phone call. I've even seen Dimas make a video call with the girl.

If Dimas ever spent two days with Kalila and his family. This time I will spend a week with him. With that shining girl. I'm so excited.

Sorry Dimas. I also want to get close to the girl.

I rearranged my departure schedule to the land of lions. Pack the things I need during my vacation in Medan City. Sort out which clothes I deserve to wear there. Trying to look cool in front of the girl you like, isn't that common?

When I was busy about clothes, Dimas entered without permission. “A' ... Aa' really want a vacation to Medan?!”

I looked up, looking at my cousin. I just nodded, answering her question. “Kok can? Aa' not going to Singapore? Dimas follow ya A'. When to leave A? Together Bang Alid, yes?”

“Maneh questions (you) too much.”

My lyrics Dimas. It was clearly printed, a look of uneasiness on his face. “Kapan Aa' departs for Medan. Dimas missed Kalila a lot. Dimas can come, right?” He just kept asking questions.

“Ba'da dawn has departed,” I replied briefly. I heard Dimas's breath. He must be disappointed. He would also want to meet Kalila again.

We kept quiet. I continue my activities. This time I just put things in my backpack. Dimas. My cousin helped too.

“If it's next week, I can definitely come along. This week's exam schedule. Grandpa will definitely not give permission.”

“Maneh quite learned right.”

Dimas smiled thinly, then nodded slowly, “send my greetings to Nek Laila, Mamak, Bang Rav, and ... for Kalila— my future teacher.” I just nodded and glanced at Dimas at a glance.

He still calls the girl by the name of ‘calon makmum.’

Dimas passed right after. I also returned to packing my things. Hope time passes quickly today. I can't wait to start my journey to Medan City. Not only to meet Kalila, but also explore the province of North Sumatra.

That dawn, finished worshiping, I immediately scattered. Walk up with a little run, towards the front yard.

And, I found Dimas waiting, right in front of the car I was going to use to pick up Bang Khalid and leave for the airport. He was seen carrying a bag.

“Please leave for Kalila and her family yes A.”

That afternoon I arrived at the residence of Bang Khalid. There's no Kalila there. Apparently he still hasn't come home from school. And I just met him, when I had just finished the Maghrib prayer. He's pecking there. Stared at. I greeted him right away.

“Assalamaicum, Calila. Just returned to school?”
