Once upon a time, in a lush Aceh forest, there lived a group of parakeets that were playing.
Some jump from one branch to another, some are busy eating grains or fruits found in the forest. The parakeet birds seemed to live a quiet and peaceful life.
The parakeet group had a very wise king. He loves his people very much. It is not strange that the people of parakeets have great respect and respect for their king. “O my people, live in peace and quiet. I will protect you all I can,” said the Parakeet King.
Unexpectedly, the peace and tranquility of the forest is disturbed by the arrival of a hunter. He put a big bird cage. Then, inside the cage is given adhesive. As a result, the birds that entered the cage were trapped and unable to fly. Almost all parakeets, including the Parakeet King, were caught and trapped in cages. They looked sad and panicked. The Parakeet King also tried to calm his people.
“Quiet my people! Your body was exposed to an adhesive that was accidentally smeared in a cage by the hunter. This is what causes you to be unable to fly and leave the cage.”
Then, the Parakeet King seeks a strategy to save his people from the hunter's trap. “Look, you must pretend to be dead if the hunter comes to rid our bodies of adhesive. If the hunter would throw us out. Wait until the count to one hundred. After that, fly you guys together!” exclaim the king.
“Alright, we will obey his appeal,” said the people of parakeets.
Parakeet people also obey the tactics of the king. Sure enough, not long after, the hunter came and checked the cage. It cleans the adhesive that sticks to every parakeet's body. However, the hunter was very disappointed because the birds were all killed. It was time for the last bird to be cleansed by the hunter. That bird is the King of Parakeets.
However, when the king's body was about to be cleaned, the king slipped. This greatly shocked the parakeet people. Then, simultaneously they all flew high. They did not realize that the king was still left behind. The hunter finally caught the Parakeet King.
At first, the hunter intended to slaughter it. But he begged the hunter for mercy not to cut him off.
“Hai Hunter, help me! Don't kill me! If you grant my wish, I will promise to sing every day to comfort you,” beg the Parakeet King.
The hunter thinks. He was also interested in the offer of the Parakeet King who promised to entertain him.
“If that is your wish, I will grant your request. But, you must keep your promise,” said the hunter.
Finally, they agreed on the promise that had been made. The hunter brought home the Parakeet King. He sang every day to cheer up the hunter. The voice of the King was beautiful and sweet. Hunters are also very entertained. The beauty of the voice of the Parakeet King was heard up to the palace to make the King of Man call the hunter.
“Yes Baginda. I do have a parakeet that chirps very sweetly. He chirped every day, Sire, replied the hunter.
Not long after, there was the song of the Parakeet King. All those present in the palace back then, were enchanted by the beauty of his voice. The King of Humans was also very interested in him.
“Wah. I'd really like to have it. What if I exchange the bird for gold and diamonds?” ask the King of Man to the hunter. “Really Sire? All right, I agree,” said the hunter.
The hunter finally gave the King of Parakeets to the King of Man. He was very happy to bring home a lot of gold and diamonds. The King of Man put the Parakeet King in a very beautiful and large golden cage. He loved his bird so much. Every day, the Parakeet King was given good food and sang to the King of Man. Although the King of parakeets lives with luxury, he remains unhappy. He was lonely and wanted to leave his golden cage, then live freely with his people.
In order to be free from the palace, the Parakeet King secretly uses his old stratagem by pretending to be dead. The King of Man was very sad when he found his beloved bird dead. He also ordered his guards to bury his favorite bird with a big speech.
The ceremony preparations began. The Parakeet King was put outside the cage thinking the bird had actually died. Not wasting the opportunity, the Parakeet King immediately flew as high as he could. He had to travel far enough to get to the forest where his people gathered.
After a few days, he arrived in the forest. “Hai view! Isn't that the king? Our lost king?” said a parakeet bird. “Iya true. He's our king. “Hi all, he has returned. Sire has returned,” shouted another parakeet.
Parakeet people soon gathered to see their king who had long disappeared. When they saw the figure of their king, the people of parakeets cheered cheerfully to welcome the arrival of the King of Parakeets. Now, Raja Burung Parakeet can re-group with his people and live peacefully in the forest of Aceh.
