The next day,
Nearly 100 naval trainees stood in the open field wearing low-ranking naval uniforms and equipped with the basic weapons of their choice; knives, swords, pistols, rifles, and so on.
Standing in front were Blaize, Vergo, Shuzo, Gion, and others of the same class. They were the most relaxed and confident group while all those behind them were a bit nervous.
They had all heard a lot about the island from the other senior recruits who went there a few months ago.
The creatures living on the island were terrifying and formidable with terrifying strength, while ordinary swords and bullets could not even pierce through their skin.
What the older recruits wanted to say was, if they were not careful, they might even lose their lives.
This kind of talk can deter normal recruits, but nailing someone like Blaize, it only reinforces it even further. "I must commend you for your courage, even after knowing the threats and the kinds of creatures that roam the Island, you have advanced a lot.
Your training is simple: survive and stay alive."
The Zephyr instructor nodded in agreement.
Other than instructing them in daily training, he did not teach them much as he concentrated on senior recruits.
Even so, he found the current training recruits were pleasing to the eye. Especially trainees like Gion,
Shuzo, Blaize, Vergo, and several others.
He is confident that with proper supervision and discipline, they will become
Great marines in the future. He was waiting for them to increase their physical strength.
Once they hit the target, he will teach them Rokushiki.
"It is true that most of the island has been closely watched. At the time of danger, a sea officer would reach the location
You and protect you from danger.
Even so, you will not be saved unless asked for yourself!"
A naval officer came forward and explained some of the rules they had to follow once they got to the island.
Soon, 100 marine recruits along with several naval officers and Z instructors reached the Island in paddleboats lined with sea stones.
Setting foot on the Island, Blaize found the air here very fresh and pure. The island looked silent and serene as if what they heard from the senior recruits were mere rumors.
On the coastal part of the area, a two-story building with a sea symbol was built and protected by special wooden spikes.
Blaize saw several powerful naval officers patrolling the sandy area of the Island with a wary expression. He told even the marines who trained their haki to come here to train.
All the recruits standing on the beach area stared at the dense forest before them.
The tall and bushy trees with a few protruding branches blocked them from any kind of sound that might give them an impression of this place. "Go! Survive and stay alive." The Zephyr instructor.
A few who were excited ran into the forest-covered region immediately after
Zephyr finished his speech. Blaise,
Gion, and the others also followed him.
Since forming a group was not allowed, all the recruits split up and ran in different directions. Even if each other met inside the island, they had to split up after 5 minutes.
--
Blaize ran for 15 minutes before meeting a powerful creature that sneaked attacking him from a blind spot.
With ultra-fast reflexes, channeling his strength into his legs, he dodged the attack by jumping backwards.
Unlike an ordinary tiger, it had shiny sword teeth and a stick-like tail as a weapon. His electric blue eyes looked threatening and wild.
"Grrr.'s.."
Failing to kill his target in one hit, he circles Blaize looking for opportunities, weaknesses. Likewise, Blaize also scrutinized his attacker and calculated his next move.
He thought the beast was abnormal from his attack. His glittering claws were more than capable of tearing his flesh and wounding it.
In the next moment, the tiger and Blaize clashed. Blaize refrained from using the power of his demonic fruit so that he could increase his fighting ability.
The tiger aims to finish off its prey by sweeping its sharp claws against the neck of the target. Blaize skillfully dodged the attack in the air by pushing his body and throwing a punch.
"Bang!"
His fist hit the head of the tiger, throwing it several meters back. It touched the ground with a heavy 'sound', but in the next moment, it instinctively landed back on its feet.
Staring at Blaize, after which shook his head several times before once again leaping towards him. It did not scare him, even after knowing his prey was stronger than expected and might lose his life in the process.
That is what life on the island is like.
To survive, they must eat. If they want to eat, they have to kill. If not, they will be killed.
Undaunted by the bravery and wild nature emitted by the tiger, Blaize faced it head on. He was in no hurry to kill the tiger, as it was the perfect target to hone his skills.
Licking his lips in excitement,
Blaize pulled the sharp dagger that was stored on his back. With extremely high speed, he passed through the gap and slashed at the tiger.
The tiger blocked his attack with its pitch-tail. What astonished him was that, when contact with his tail came the sound of 'clanging.
'What a tough tail!"
Exerting force on his tail, the tiger pushed Blaize backwards and jumped onto a nearby tree. His shadow form easily fused with the surroundings and disappeared from his sight.
It did not reduce his alertness even added to increasing it. He knew the tiger creature had finally shown its strength and superiority on its own terrain.
A rustling sound was heard around him.
Something moved from one tree to another with lightning-fast speed leaving nothing but a yellow line.
Out of nowhere, the attack came.
Although he remained a vigilante, he could not react in time and something heavy hit his back.
The force of the attack pushed him forward. At that moment, Blaize skillfully stopped the momentum by flipping twice and steadying his pace.
Utilizing the excess power in his body, Blaize shouted and slashed the dagger on his back with all his strength.
'Shhhhhhh!"
The tiger stopped in its tracks and slowly limped to the ground without life. The dagger in his right hand instantly pierced through his right eye and pierced through his brain.
Blaize did not celebrate his lucky victory. He doesn't have that luxury. Not wasting any more time, he plucked out a dagger from the tiger corpse and rushed away without looking back.
In the next instant, a huge bird descended from the sky and grabbed the corpse of the tiger. But before it could take off, a green scaly snake crept out of the shadow of the tree, scaring the bird. it then pounced and twisted itself around the bird that paralysed it to the ground.
The bird struggled with all its might, but it was all in vain and soon succumbed to death.
Meanwhile, the snake enjoys his lunch - the feathered bird and the tiger -.
silence once again filled the area as if nothing had happened here.
