Constellations of Love

Constellations of Love
Chapter 8. The other side of the barrel

The work at the puskesmas makes Pandu drown in routine. Today there are four patients in the ER.

In the morning two elementary school-aged children have diarrhea serious enough to be hospitalized and infused.

Another story of a father who suffered from diabetes and heart swelling should be referred to a hospital in the city. Lastly, a middle-aged mother who fell on a motorcycle while going to the market with a foot scratched and a leg sprained.

In common poly there are some mild cases such as children who suffer from cough, flu and fever. Also a young man who has strep throat is quite severe and finally found out that he just learned to smoke. Just any..............

" Doctor, there's an allergic reaction from an inpatient. Please be evaluated" reported Jauri, senior nurse.

The guide, who was checking some documents at his desk, rushed over from following the nurse's steps. Immediately check the patient in question.

" Please stop this drug first. Replace the other. We handle the itchy reaction and irritation of his skin. I'll give you a note."

" Okay, doc."

The two doctors then discussed the treatment for patients. Afterwards Pandu returned to the workspace.

Until two o'clock in the afternoon.

" Dok, there's a case of vomiting blood and fainting. Patients can't come here."

Mr. Leo's report is a hint that he should go with her looking at the patient's condition.

Then drive the ambulance to the location. Travel more than twenty minutes to the complex housing employees of the palm oil processing plant.

Pandu and Mr. Leo entered the simple wooden house to which they were intended. In the back room lay a young man on a mattress without a cot. His condition looked weak and pale.

The doctor examined the chest and abdomen of the patient, while hearing the babbling of his mother. Opening the young man's eyelids, measuring his weakened pulse.

"Sir Leo, please step up and measure his body temperature."

Pandu talked with the mother who had been talking chronologically about her son's illness. They moved to the middle room.

" How does not hurt doc.Every night drink only with his friend. Until dawn." said his mother.

" How long has it been sick? "

" Two days. Fever, I'll take the medicine, buy it at the stall. Then this afternoon vomited blood, maybe twice. Then faint."

Pandu heard his father's story this time. The young man broke up and loved to drink. It's been three months.

Finished measured tension and body temperature, Mr. Leo reported. Pandu observed once again the young man. It's like there's a depressive disorder. Skinny, dry, pale. Sunken face and unkempt body.

" Mom, after I checked the condition of the mother's son is still under control. I gave you two types of medication. For three days. Drink it three times after eating. The drug from the stall was stopped first, yes."

" I don't want to eat, what about doc?"

" Effortable, Mom. A little forced. Soft food used to be like porridge or fruit. Drinking water is increased. "

"What pain tho really, this Tio guy?" ask father.

" Insications of gastric infection. I'm afraid if I keep getting drunk, the liver will get hit.

Please be well told to stop drinking."

" Yes, doctor ....."

" Later if the drug runs out and is still sick, please be invited to control to the health center."

" Thank you, doc."

Almost forty minutes. Go and Mr. Leo, excuse me.

The doctor reminded the mother to keep her son eating and drinking.

Five o'clock more, when Pandu rested in his room, suddenly a knock was heard on the front room door. At that time, he will be ready to take a shower.

" Dok, there's an injured child patient up ahead. Pretty bad." Edi sir, the nurse who lives next door, reported.

" Okay, just a minute ahead. Change clothes first."

The guide who was originally in a short pants, immediately replaced it with blue jeans hanging behind the room door. Hurry up and make your way to the ER.

For a moment the doctor was surprised to see who was coming. Laras, a young man and a little boy that he seems to have seen.

They stood at the side of the bed staring towards the little man lying grimacing in pain. Blood seemed to drip from part of his leg.

The guide immediately approached them.

" Evening, doc. This kid was injured in the left thigh and calf. Bruised limbs," Ms. Sita, the nurse reported.

" Okay, I'll check first."

Pandu greeted Laras and smiled at him, also at the young man next to the girl.

The nurse asked the two adults to wait outside the room.

"What's his name, brother?' the doctor looked at the patient.

" Let's..."

"Ehm, wounded because....

" Fall down, on a football tackle."

The loud voice of the boy who was thick and bongsor, made Pandu glance and smile at him.

"Surely this child is a tough boy, already wounded but still eager to answer. One more thing, he did not cry, the doctor whispered in his heart.

" Yes, the doctor examined the wound first. Hold on a little, okay!'

"Nurpus ....." Go back to grimacing

After the injured part, the doctor's attention was also diverted to the chest, abdomen, and eyes and head. Both hands too. Doctor Pandu observed the other body parts of the boy while inviting him to chat.

Check all possible impact effects in other parts due to falls.

" His head hurts?"

" No."

" It's good to play ball."

"Yes." Yeah."

" So regular training or training?"

" Practice for the match in two months. Kang Jamil and Bu Laras are his trainers.

For the sake of hearing Budi's rant just now, Pandu was surprised. Laras train kids to play ball?

" Ah, yes. Who's your friend?"

" Key...."

" Wait a minute, sir, the doctor said to the nurse to treat your wounds."

The guide turns to the other side. Giving instructions for Mr. Edi and Sita to handle Budi's wounds.

A moment later they had cleaned all the wounds, given medicine and bandaged them. Pandu saw their work and watched the little boy in front of him.

" Well, take a break here. The doctor wants to talk to the coach first."

" May I have a drink, doctor?" ask Budi, more calm.

" Oh, of course I can."

Pandu asked Sister Sita to take a drink from the boy and then leave outside.

" How's Budi's condition, doc?" Laras greeted him, with a slightly anxious face.

" It's been handled well."

" Ehm, can train the ball too."

" Just an assistant.oh sorry this is Kang Jamil, the main coach," hurriedly the girl introduced the young man beside her.

The two men shook hands and said their names.

The tall and athletic body of the coach is clad in a red shirt as is commonly worn by national players. Dark blue sports pants and black football player shoes make him look dashing.

While Laras with light brown long sleeve t-shirts and matching training pants. White sneakers.

" Budi suffered several injuries in the left leg and thigh. Not bad. Only after examination was there a possibility of a crack in the shin of his leg."

" sthat mean?"

Pandu began to be familiar with the questions Laras often use the word "intent".

" So, we need further examination. Looks like it needs to be X-rayed to be sure. After that we just determine the medical procedure and treatment."

" Okay, will not be able to play dong Budi later. Though he was one of the main strikers..," murmured Laras.

" There are two reserves. Reno and Bian. You will train harder for free kicks and penalties. I'm focused on training two of his goalkeepers."

The two people in front of Pandu looked engrossed in discussing their plans.

" Am..ahem...ehm."

The doctor tried to remind her that there was someone other than the two of them in the corridor.

" Ah, sorry doc. Back to Budi. Maybe he should take a long break?" ask Laras again.

" It could be, especially if there is a crack or fracture. Gibs on gibs."

" Does it have to be anonymous, Doc? " this time it was Jamil who asked.

" No, just still have to be checked further. I'll give you an introduction to X-rays and there's medicine to prevent infection."

From the outside of the corridor, suddenly a little father ran towards them. Uniformed security officers.

With a breath he asked about the condition of Budi.

" Dok, this is Mr. Karno, his father Budi," said Laras.

Dr. Pandu patiently then repeated his explanation earlier to the father.

Nearly an hour and a half has passed. Because Budi's condition has improved and can be taken home, they say goodbye.

Drive to the parking area.

Pak Karno hitchhiked Budi in the middle and Kang Jamil with a large matic motor. While Laras rode his tiny matic that was used to bring Budi to the puskesmas earlier

" Livers on the Barrel road. It's night."

" Yes, doc. Pamit. Thanks."

Guide back home. The info that Laras as a soccer coach makes it a surprise. Known for less than two months, many things have been revealed about the personality of the simple girl.

" Special girl," Inner Pandu.

Pandu immediately took a shower and afterwards enjoyed his dinner. Mbok Siti today cooks soto meat and fried tofu. Before returning home at four in the afternoon, he reminded the doctor to warm up the soto before eating later. The woman who has been used to working at the hospital puskesmas service also said that she had put all the clothes in the iron in the back room.

At eight in the evening, while watching tv Pandu wants to contact Laras.

A message was typed.

" Have you got home?"

Deliv. Half an hour passed.

Guide to hearing message notifications.

" New to home. Stop by Budi's house first."

" Come home with Jamil's kang, yeah."

"true."

Suddenly Pandu imagined that Laras had to piggyback with the young man earlier. Both. At night, passing through the palm groves. There was a sense of worry about sneaking up on the chest.

Worry or jealousy.....?

Deg. The swish on the doctor's chest felt different.

" Remove to rest. Teach tomorrow, right?"

" Yes." Yeah."

" Btw, how's the doctor's mom? Hope it's healthy."

Pandu just remembered, yesterday the day after looking at Gaby, there was a call the sister about her mother. Baras knows the news. The girl was also attentive.

" Thank you, my mom is better."

" Thankfully. Sorry, I ate first. It's hungry."

" Eat a lot, take a break, yeah. Bye."

"Ready.(emotion Namaste).
