Constellations of Love
Chapter 5. Gaby's Story

Monday morning the school started its usual activities. Children still with his innocent behavior fill the day of Laras.

Classes begin with greetings and prayers. Then sing a good morning song Mom teacher and friends.

Sari the class leader also led an additional prayer for their friend Gaby who is still ill.

" Come, let's continue the lesson last week. You guys finish the task of thickening the numbers six to ten huh. "

" Good Ma'am teacher ......"

" Study neat and can't get out of the arcane."

" Yes, Mum.....!"

A moment later the atmosphere was silent. After taking out a book box containing pictures of large numbers and pencils, they immediately began to write. Class A children focus on doing what the teacher ordered.

Sometimes there are little voices between them. The barrel runs slowly from table to table observing the child.

" Master teacher, Toni's pencil is not pointy anymore. The writing is so ugly" reported Budi.

" Let's see first, yeah "

Barrels switch to the next table. He crouched down to be on par with Toni.

" Toni brought another pencil? " ask Laras to a thin, curly-haired boy sitting at the very back. His dark green pencil appeared to be short.

" No, Madam teacher. "

" Try Toni to borrow a pencil from Budi ya."

Soon the boy rushed to Budi's desk next to him.

" Let's say, do you have any other pencils I can borrow?" whispered Toni.

" Yes, here I have another one. But the outer color is blue.

" It's okay. I borrow it first, right?"

" Ehm yes."

" Thank you."

" Eits, give it back when you're done with it."

" Alright, Budi. Thanks."

Tony returned to the table and continued his work.

Laras was happy to see his two students looking polite and well-rounded. It was a joy for him to see that.

The teacher remembered the beginning of the semester, six months ago. The classroom atmosphere is still noisy, crowded and disorderly. A semester passed, it turned out that with patience and patience, children can be educated and nurtured well.

Nearly forty minutes passed. The first hour is over. Kids collect their books at the teacher's desk.

Classes begin at the beginning of the week. Each child comes to the front of the class to share a weekend story. There are those who go to the market with their mothers, worship to church, harvest vegetables in the grandfather's garden to go to the playground in the square near the factory. All full and full of laughter.

The rest hours are filled with enjoying each other's supplies. You should wash your hands first. After that you can play outside.

Before checking on his student's assignment, he took the time to look at the cellphone stored in the lower pocket of his light brown blazer. There was a message notification vibrate mode that came in.

From the doctor Pandu.

" Morning, Barrel."

" Jaby was just referred to the hospital in town."

" There'll be a complete lab check."

" Mhn prayer, yes."

" Tr."

The message came in over an hour ago. Means Gaby has arrived at the RS in question, Inner Laras.

" Thx info, doc."

" We always pray for healing

Gaby."

Not a minute of messages were answered.

" Gaby's already had her blood sample taken. "

" There will be an MRI.

"Next my info again."

Barrel typing "Thanks."

The teacher's mother reported Gaby's latest news to Bu Nur.

" Well, if you get to the MRI it means there are severe indications" said the senior teacher.

" May Gaby be strong."

" Let's keep praying, mbak Laras."

The last activity of the day is to form a collage of the face of a child from corn and peanuts and green beans. All equipment is ready. Almost forty minutes all class A students were immersed in the activity.

Until the hour home. All have been run. Children are very satisfied to see the work of each.

The third day of this week is planned to have healthy feeding activities. According to the schedule of Sari's mother and Budi's mother got a turn to prepare the menu. Chicken soto rice is complete with an egg that is cut into two parts in each bowl. Sweet orange juice as a complement.

Children are very happy when eating together. They seem to enjoy the dishes.

For Saturday's menu, Bu Ina is scheduled for the chairman who can part. And grandfather Kemal.

On Thursday there was a news that made Laras sad. The morning before leaving for school, Pandu's doctor called him.

" Diagnosed pediatrician who handled, Gaby had blood cancer. Leukemia type AML. "

" What?"

" We should be grateful to know his condition is still in the early stages. He'll be referred to an oncologist."

Pandu was heard trying to calm the turmoil of Gaby's teacher's mother.

Laras understands the situation. Cancer is always scary. Definite treatment with chemotherapy. A medical procedure that is exhausting, long and expensive. She once knew how her best friend's mother struggled in college with breast cancer.

" How did mom and dad Gaby react, doc?"

" Of course it was really shock. But yesterday the team of doctors had given a detailed explanation for his medical treatment."

" Ehm ...Gaby's so sorry, doc."

" There will be follow-up examinations, including genetic tests as well as bone marrow biopsies."

" Gaby himself, what's his condition?"

" It's still stable, even though the appetite isn't good. Stay infused. In the intensive supervision of the team of doctors."

" Thank you for the information, Doc. "

" same-same. Keep praying for Gaby, yeah."

" absolutely. I hope Gaby stays strong. Quickly recover and cheer again."

" Amin....."

Doctor Pandu ended the phone conversation by reminding that Laras also maintain stamina. Take blood-boosting supplements two to three times a week. Laras agreed and thanked the doctor for his attention.

Arriving at school Laras immediately recounted his conversation this morning with the Pandu doctor.

Of course Bu Nur was very surprised. They've all known Gaby for about two weeks. Gaby showed that she was a happy and healthy boy. Who would have thought that soon there was news that made sad. It turned out that such a small girl had to endure serious pain.

" We have to make a plan for Gaby. Try later discussions with Bu Ina as chairman of the association," said Bu Nur further.

And right, the plan was drawn up.

Saturday afternoon Laras had been picked up by Bu Nur and Bu Ina to leave for the hospital.

Ms. Ina asked the niece who was still studying electrical engineering to drive and drive them. Riding the old black sedan owned by the husband, the journey for an hour went smoothly.

" Nah, we've arrived. Evan rest and wait in the cafeteria. Aunty and two mother teachers climbed into the third-floor pavilion in the poly child, "command Bu Ina.

" Ready, Auntie. Call me when you get back."

Arrive in the room that is headed. VIP room for one patient. There was only papa Gaby and a teenage boy sitting on the side of the bed. Looks like Gaby's sister. From a distance, the little girl's body fell asleep. The infusion hose on the left side of his body is still attached.

" Good day, Mr. Himawan."

Bu Nur said his greetings, after knocking and opening the door of the room.

" Day mom - teacher. Let's please. Let's sit down first, "welcome papa Gaby.

The man invited the guests to sit on the chair opposite the patient bed. The mothers followed him. The barrel put on the guest table a fruit hampers in a small basket. Various fruits were previously prepared Bu Nur.

" How's Gaby's condition?" Ms. Nur opened the conversation again.

" Thankful to remain stable. Next week will begin treatment. Please pray always."

" Is all the lab checks done?" Ms. Ina asked the next question.

" Oh, sorry sir. This is Ms. Ina, the head of the student's parent company. He is a midwife, a friend of Pandu's doctor at the puskesmas," said Bu Nur.

" Ehm, in general all lab results, as well as X-rays and MRIs show indications and diagnosis of leukemia."

" As far as I know the patient's recovery rate is quite high for this case," said Bu Ina, sharing his medical experience.

" right, Mom. May Gaby be strong and patient. Please pray again."

Laras, saying, "Surely, sir. We, Gaby's teachers and friends, pray every morning that Gaby will recover and get back to school soon."

" Thank you very much, Mom."

" Oooh, yeah. We and our family also thank you, Master Laras, for helping by donating blood, yesterday."

Papa Gaby's gaze was fixed towards Laras. A moment of silence with a slightly strange look. Laras only replied with a small nod.

" Yes, sir."

" Where's Gaby's mama talking?" Bu Nur, asked as he circulated the view to the entire room.

" My wife rested at home last night. Today will return with the needs of Gaby and the others."

" Ehm, yes."

Papa Gaby also told me briefly about the history of the youngest's pain.

" Can we take a closer look to pray for Gaby?" said Bu Nur, take the initiative.

" O yes, let's go ahead."

The mothers follow Papa Gaby's steps towards the bed.

" This is Anton, Gaby's brother. Our second son."

The teenager smiled and nodded respectfully. Then get up from the side of the bed and pull over to the corner of the room. Next to it was a large bouquet of flowers with the inscription "May Be Healed Soon". From the company where papa Gaby works.

Bu Nur and Laras looked at the face of the disciple. Gaby was sound asleep. Soon they covered both hands to pray. While Bu Ina formed the sign of the cross in front of his chest.

Papa Gaby pays attention to the solemn prayers of mothers. His gaze was especially fixed on Laras. There was something a different aura. They had met about three times at Gaby's school. When you get to know more closely and pay attention to the look on the teacher's face, what a familiar feeling for him.

"Ah, perhaps only because of the kindness of the teacher's mother has become a donor to Gaby," the almost half-century-old man's inner self.

The guests came home when evening began to arrive. Mr. Himawan is very grateful for the attention and prayers of the mothers.

" Please say hello to Gaby's mom, sir!"

Bu Nur sent a message before the three of them walked outside the room.

" Thank you, Mom.'"
