Constellations of Love
Chapter 3. Blood donation

Two men appeared to descend and rush in. After introducing themselves, the two immediately took action.

Doctor Pandu pulled out a stethoscope. Mr. Leo, the nurse took the thermometer. After checking on Gaby's condition, the doctor called her mother.

The man in the white coat told Gaby's condition and asked for permission to be treated at the Puskesmas first.

Gaby began to cry and did not want to escape the arms of her teacher's mother.

Bu Nur assigns Laras to accompany Gaby in the ambulance while she will follow later by motorcycle to the health center. They're gonna meet Gaby's mom there.

" Okay, the teacher's mother is with us" the doctor's firm voice looked at Laras.

Baras carried Gaby until she got into the ambulance. The little girl kept hugging him. He won't be laid on the available cots. Her tears still melt.

Doctor Pandu sat on the bench facing in front of Laras and Gaby. His eyes were endlessly staring at the little guy, occasionally fumbling his forehead. Fever. High temp.

Barrel just fell silent. Gaby's high body temperature is very much felt because of the baby girl's embrace since. It seems Gaby fell asleep again from suffocation.

The dirt road that connects the school and the front of the research office on the plantation was a bit muddy. The car is moving slowly. Nearly fifteen minutes passed.

" Mother Teacher, have you been teaching here for a long time?" ask the doctor, when things calm down.

The road began to enter the asphalt, heading out of the plantation area. The car started moving faster.

" Just two years, sir."

" Hmm, Gaby's class teacher?"

" "Yes, right.'

" I'm sorry can you tell, Gaby's really sick?"

" We are evaluating. Early examination indicates a blood disorder. Gaby has to rest."

" Oh, is this our fault?"

" Do you mean teacher?"

" Today afternoon, Gaby's friend and I visited her. Gaby insisted she wanted to go to school because she had not been in for four days. He said he was tired and bored...."

" Ehm..not the mother's fault of course."

" But because Gaby is now like this, I feel sad and guilty. I think he's improved. Yesterday it looked rather healthy."

" Gaby's a strong boy, sure to recover quickly." said the doctor, calming.

Silent and silent for a moment. The car enters the puskesmas gate.

" Oh, teacher, I'm sorry what's mother's name?"

" Mauricius."

Car stopped. Mr. Leo opened the back door of the ambulance.

" Mother teacher Larasati, let me bring Gaby yes," Pandu doctor immediately grabbed the body of little Gaby, from the arms of Laras. Then carry him inside. Towards the examination room. Laras and Leo's sir followed from behind.

The girl was laid in the emergency room bed. He woke up from his sleep. His hand held the fingers of the teacher's mother. The girl's eyes are still puffy. Then his eyes fell back asleep.

Pandu's doctor again examined Gaby accompanied by a middle-aged female nurse.

The barrel is asked to open Gaby's shoes and socks.

" Mother Teacher, please accompany Gaby first. We are preparing medical treatment for him. Mama Gaby is coming soon" said Pandu's doctor, gently. His gaze turned alternately towards Gaby and her teacher.

" Yes, doctor."

" Thank you, I'll talk to the nurse first."

The doctor walked outside. Previously, the young man took the time to record a picture of the teacher's mother in his mind. Oval face, almost without makeup, with hair maybe a shoulder, tied in a ponytail. Wear a batik blouse with small flowers and black trousers. Footwear flat shoes brown. Simple but pretty sweet appearance.

Laras was still looking at Gaby who still looked limp and lying down.

There were three beds lined up in that huge space that were bounded by circular curtains. That afternoon there was only Gaby lying at the very front.

" Teacher ma'am. Gaby fear. ... Sakiiit Ma'am ...Gaby's leg bone."

" Gaby, Gaby, the teacher's mother is here. Mom is coming soon. Gaby's patient, yeah."

" No, Gaby wants papa......"

Shortly thereafter the doctor returned. This time it looks like Gaby's mom. A mother with a beautiful fashionable makeup. His body is somewhat full. Hair layer shoulder-length in brown paint. His face line was exactly round the princess.

" Oh, dear Gaby ....."

The body of Gaby. Kissed the little face.

While Gaby releases her handrails from the teacher's fingers.

" Mom ......Gaby wants papa."

" Yes, yes.papa is coming soon.

" Mother Goddess, this is Gaby's mother....." Doctor Pandu introduces Laras.

For a moment Gaby's mom turned her eyes to Laras. Thin smile.

The teacher nodded towards Gaby's mother.

"Thank you, teacher. Please mother can leave us. I will accompany Gaby," he said, flatly.

"All right, then I'll excuse you. Gaby, I'm saying goodbye. Mama is here. Quickly recovered yes. Gaby had to stay upbeat, "Laras turned his head gently towards the little girl and stroked the elus of Gaby's arm slowly.

A smile on Gaby's face.

Excuse me and nod respectfully to Pandu's doctor and Gaby's mama. For a moment they sat.

Bu Nur had apparently been waiting in front of the check room. Seen chatting with Bu Ina, their protege mother who became a midwife and served in the puskesmas. A moment later the three of them had engaged in a conversation about Gaby. Also the situation of other children in general at school. Laras also expressed a plan and schedule for providing nutritious food for students.

" I propose every Wednesday with a full meal, Friday maybe milk and a snack or green bean porridge. How's Ma?" ask Ms. Ina.

"Again, Mom." Barrel smiled, answering.

" Later the menu plan and the cost we will make with other mothers. I'll discuss it first, yes, teacher."

"Thank you, Miss Ina."

" Same with Bu Nur and Bu Laras."

The conversation ended because it was almost two in the afternoon. The stomach began to churn. Bu Nur did too. They agreed to stop by the meatball stall opposite the puskesmas. Not how long two servings of complete chicken meatballs plus lontong have been served. Not to forget two glasses of warm oranges accompanied him.

After that the two teachers returned to school to take the Laras motorbike. Bu Nur piggybacking his juniors drove for thirty minutes towards the inside of the plantation.

The next day, the school went on as usual. Saturday is a fun day. Shared sports filled with healthy gymnastics in the style of children's kindergarten. Then after the drinking break, there will be dancing and singing lessons. Class A and B are mixed together. All of their bags were neatly placed near the front hall of the teacher's room.

" Come girls learn to dance with Bu Nur," exclaimed the senior teacher, walking to class B.

The little girls formed a circle. There are ten children imitating the plate dance movements exemplified by Bu Nur. They repeated several movements many times. Low boisterous sounds of laughter when a slight movement error occurs.

" Boys let's learn to sing in the choir" shouted Bu Laras towards Class A.

Soon formed two rows. Class A in front and the sister class in the back. Twelve boys noticed Bu Laras moving his hands leading the chant.

Two national songs and a regional song reverberate with a tone that has not been compact. Sometimes laughter broke out between them.

Rest is longer on the last day of each week. Before going home, children are required to come clean. They will be divided into groups of two to three children.

There are in charge of sweeping classrooms, courtyards, cleaning the classroom window glass, me lap table chairs to pluck weeds and weeds in a small garden corner of the gate. Watering the flower plants in several pots lined up from the front of the teacher's room, in the classroom corridor until in front of the two toilets in the back. They do it cheerfully.

Bu's phone's vibrating. This mode is used when the class is in progress. The teacher reached into the pocket of the training pants he was wearing.

A short message from Ms. Ina.

" Met noon, Mom. Please contact me immediately. There's news about Gaby's condition."

Laras met Bu Nur and delivered the message. Then call Ms. Ina in the teacher's office.

" The kids rest first. Can take each one. Remember to wash your hands first. Line up and orderly yes," said Bu Nur, reminded.

Bu Nur and Pak Yus supervise the activities of children.

From a phone conversation with Ms. Ina, it was conveyed that Gaby, was hospitalized temporarily at the health center. He got an infusion to deal with his condition that dropped because he did not want to eat.

" Blood test results are ongoing. It's been taken to the lab in the county town."

" Oya, ma'am can we see her later?" ask Laras.

" Not yet, Mom. Gaby must really rest. This morning he also returned to nosebleeds. His blood pressure is also slightly decreased."

" What was the initial diagnosis, ma'am?"

" As Dr. Pandu said the possibility of blood disorders. Need more complete tests. If there is such strong evidence it will be referred to a hospital in the city."

" After one o'clock in the afternoon there will be preliminary lab results."

" I hope it's not bad, Mom."

" We pray together. It's obvious Gaby's gonna take a long break."

Barrel back to the hall. Talked to Bu Nur about the news just now. They chat while watching children sitting in a circle, Lesehan on the floor enjoying their provisions.

Half an hour passed. At the end of school hours. Everyone is ready to go home. Sing a farewell song to meet again next Monday.

A message went to Laras' phone. A foreign number.

"Piang. I'm dr. Guide."

"Gaby needs a blood donor. Info Bu Ina, gol. your blood is appropriate. Please help with my mother's presence at the puskesmas."

" Tr."

Soon Laras conveyed that to Bu Nur. Rushing the two teacher mothers glided to the puskesmas. This time Laras piggybacked Bu Nur using his matic motor.

Laras and Bu Nur immediately went to the doctor's desk. There was a female nurse there.

Laras conveys the meaning of his arrival.

" Let's check the teacher's condition first."

While writing a form containing health data Baras, the nurse said that Gaby's mother had B blood. Papa Gaby is actually also blood type O but after examination it turns out his blood pressure is quite high.

A moment later the blood pressure Barrels checked. Results normal. Healthful. Age and weight also fit the criteria to be a donor.

"Maybe Bu Ina knew my blood type during a routine check-up to school four months ago, yes" Ms Nur tried to remind me.

" Right, Mom."

"And after that, a month later Selma's son, Bu Ina's nephew also got DHF. His condition is pretty bad. Ma'am Laras also helped donate blood for her."

" Yes, "Laras replied while reading the form that had been filled out earlier and signed the agreement personally.

"More specifically Rhesus required is O negative. Luckily Ms Ina's info was very quick to say the teacher's mother Larasati was the most compatible donor" the nurse continued.

Doctor Pandu who was standing not far from them heard all the conversation in front of him.

" I'm sorry we interrupted the activities of the teacher's mother at the school" he said as he approached and stood at the table.

" It's okay. This is urgent so we rushed here" replied Bu Nur.

Laras who had finished with the admin business, momentarily turned to the doctor and nodded respectfully.

The nurse took Laras to a room to rest for a while before his blood was taken. They stepped into the room inside.

While Pandu doctor chatted with Bu Nur. The teacher asked the whereabouts of the midwife.

" Mrs Ina is in the delivery room. Looks like today will be busy because there are two young mothers who will give birth."

" yes? Our midwife's mother will stay later."

" Possibly yes. One has opened four, one is still contracting" explained the doctor.

" I'm sorry is the new doctor here? It seems like almost a year ago as I remember there was still a doctor Cahyani?"

" right, Mom. He is my senior. Now back in town with another lecture, get an ENT specialist."

Conversation switched to Gaby's condition. Pandu's doctor said it was likely that tomorrow or the day after Monday the little girl would be referred to a hospital in the city. For a thorough examination. Because today and tomorrow the papa is still very busy handling the head office guests.

It turns out that it's been six months of Gaby's health like this. Up and down. But because his body recovered quickly enough, his family only thought of his usual fatigue. It is said that while living in the provincial capital of Gaby there is a lot of activity. In addition to school, there are violin lessons, ballet lessons to English and math lessons.

Bu Nur was only speechless to hear the story of the Pandu doctor. He just sat up, "Duh, pity Gaby....."
