Chapter 1

No Heart

“Mi, please don't go. Don't leave us!” Aluna held her mother's arm in front of the door.

“No. I have to go!” Mami did not look at the pity of Aluna even though on her cheeks tears had flowed.

Mami also completely ignored the twins Deva and Devi who still need affection. Both are now entering SMP.

“If Mami does not care anymore Papi, at least think about the future of Aluna and the twins,” said Papi slowly. She shrunk her tears with the back of her hand.

"Bored. That's all you always say" Mami said. "Omong empty about the future. Don't I also have to think about my own future, huh?! My future is ruined if I don't decide to leave today!"

"Why have you never lowered your ego one bit?" said Papi.

"In these circumstances, we should encourage each other, not blame each other. Mommy, please reconsider. Do not let there be regrets in the future," said Aluna.

My mother was attacked by that question. Moreover, according to Mami Aluna's remarks confirmed who was on whose side. "Whatdidyou say? Read it before saying it like that. It is precisely you who are actually selfish," Mami attacked back.

"And you, Luna. You don't need to support me. I already had my own choice," Mami stared at Aluna sharply.

"Listen and listen carefully! Your words won't change my choice one bit" continued Mami looking at Papi, Aluna, and the twins one by one.

The night is getting late. Sometimes a flash of light is seen from behind the window. The sound of thunder sounded terrible. Heavy rain has not stopped since dawn this morning.

But Mami did not pay attention to the weather at all. His feet stepped, past the front door leaf line of the house.

“I can't stay in this slum. I have to go!”

Since the pandemic, conditions have changed. They previously lived in an elite area. It is like a palace.

Now they have to occupy a simple house. To get to the house must pass through the narrow alleys are muddy.

“Mami don't go! Where are you going?” the question of the Deva and Devi twins sounds plain.

The two of them tried to rush out to hug Mami. But Mami avoided their embrace.

"Let go!" Mami hits Deva's hand and Devi grabs her.

"I want to be with Mami" Devi said, "Why did Mami leave?"

"Let me go. I want to be happy. I don't want to suffer" Mami braced herself. Even so, still her crying was unstoppable.

"You can not admit you can be happy. Go... Don't block me anymore," he continued with as much as he pleased.

"Mommy, stay with us. I promise I won't be repotin Mami again. I'll be independent and make Mami happy, "this time it's Deva who sulks.

"I have to go" said Mami. "And if I come back later, it's just to pick up divorce papers that have been delayed for months. Papi never signed it."

Hearing the words between the rain, his heart was pierced. However, his heart had no intention of signing him at all. Instead, he really wants to tear up the divorce papers filed by his wife.

Papi didn't expect much. From his room he persuaded his wife not to leave. But his wife insisted.

In fact, ever since his wife opened the room door while pulling her suitcase, Papi held her back many times. But his efforts were useless.

"Where are you going?" Papi still remembers his question of looking for his wife.

"As far as I am. I went to find my own happiness," said the wife ketus and seemed selfish.

"Surely, I don't want to live miserable with you" he continued.

The last sentence struck me in the heart of a papi like a dagger. The wound kept flowing until this moment.

Now Papi chose resignation. He sat down in a rickety chair, staring at his wife from behind the window.

He watched with nanar Deva and Devi tried to catch up with her Mama. Honey, their efforts to get Mami's attention have been fruitless.

Papi couldn't stand to see that sight. The clearer the scene was, the more it grew and continued to flow the dagger wound that was still stuck in his chest.

Papi rises. He stepped out, approaching his eldest daughter who was still watching his twin sister with a very sad heart.

"Pi, why did Mami get all that money on us?" Aluna leaned her body into Papi's arms. His body and hair were drenched in rain.

"Your mom lost, honey. He may not stand this test" Papi whispered, rubbing his daughter's head.

"But, Papi trusts you very much. You and the twins will remain strong even if there is no Mami on your side" he continued.

"I'm not sure, Pi. And ... I also do not promise to be strong as Papi imagined," said Aluna. Her cry broke while hugging Papi tightly.

"You'll be strong. Papi will always be by your side no matter what," Papi asserted and reassured Aluna.

The rain is getting heavier. The twins seem to be in existence. Looks like it's still chasing Mami.

"This rain has no sign of easing, let's take shelter," Papi leads Aluna to the porch of the house.

The two of them sat down while watching the surroundings that were increasingly inundated by water. The area where he lived in the suburb of Bogor was indeed low and was on the banks of the Ciliwung River.

"Luna, look how the water is getting higher?"

"Yes, Pi?

The height of the water due to heavy rain since this morning made all worried, not least Aluna and Papi.

"Don't Ciliwung be on standby one?" papi.

"It could be, today I don't update the news at all."

Papi and Aluna are. The sewers next to the rickshaw alley are not visible that there is only a fairly swift flow of water.

"Right, flood, Pi. Water will soon be coming home!" Aluna started to panic.

"Wine! You immediately secure the items at home as much as possible. Papi's looking for the twins!"

Without looking at Luna at all, Papi immediately broke through the puddle to look for the twins.

"But, careful. Watch yourself! You three should go back!" Aluna asked her father for the largest volume of sound she had issued.

Even though her father did not turn his head, Aluna very much hoped that his request could still be heard by the father.

Aluna rushed in. He's in action soon. He first changed his clothes. His body was still shivering from being soaked. He did it as fast as lightning.

Before the pooled water flooded the room he lifted things that were important to be saved.

Meanwhile, most of the residents were just as panicked. Sound of claps sounded.

"Banjiiir!" the screams were heard over and over again.

Papi keeps looking for Deva and Devi's twins.

"Devaa…"

"Deviii…"

Papi kept calling the two names in his quest.
