Not only Mayasa was surprised to see Pras, but Pras was the same. He did not expect the ex-girlfriend he worried about all day yesterday to come to the funeral home.
Pras secretly asked Mayasa's staff at the office and asked him about his condition. As far as Pras knows, Mayasa should still be hospitalized for minor injuries as well as trauma recovery. How come Mayasa is here now?
Arik Gudono looked at Pras with a slightly uncomfortable look. The man seemed unwilling that his son was now walking closer to Mayasa. Pras is heading towards him. His name alone is also antipathy, so Arik is always upset if he sees Pras and Mayasa close together, even though it is just a cross road.
"Pa, I'm going home first. Cassandra did not feel strong coming to the funeral and join the procession. So I will take him home and accompany him," Pras said as soon as the distance was close to where his papa and Mayasa stood.
Arik Gudono nodded. "Oh, okay. Take care of him, yeah. Make sure Cassandra's not alone. He needs you by his side."
And Pras just nodded again while trying to strengthen his defense so as not to look at Mayasa. Anyway he was determined to assume Mayasa did not exist. He won't falter anymore. He was determined to throw his past away.
"I'm going, Pa." And Pras passed away without looking a second at Mayasa.
Does Mayasa have the heart to be treated like that by Pras? Obviously yes.
Mayasa bowed and tried not to cry. Oh, where was Pras who used to pay attention to him when he only sneezed with the flu? Where did that figure go?
"Didn't he see the scar on my cheek? In my hand? On my arm? I didn't expect much. I know myself enough. But at least there was no pleasantry from him to ask about my situation? Am I okay? Are my wounds bad?" Mayasa's heart screamed sadly.
This situation was clearly in stark contrast to Arik Gudono's mood. His cynical gaze earlier turned into a faint smile accompanied by short heart-wrenching words.
"You see for yourself, Mayasa. Pras doesn't care about you anymore. So don't try to tease her or tease Cassandra. Fuck me, your fake confession was about Prambodo's last message. Cassandra doesn't need you. He has a Pras. He's got me!" Then Arik Gudono passed away, calling the funeral home attendant to take care of the funeral.
While Arik was busy giving instructions at length, Mayasa could only stare at the closed Prambodo coffin and he stepped aside to the side.
Mayasa just left. He stood in a corner with a wide glass window near where the families of the other victims stood crying watching his family members who were stiffened now the coffin was closed and ready to be taken away.
Mayasa looked the other way and his eyes caught the figure from behind the glass window. From a distance Pras was opening the car door for Cassandra.
Oh, how from his gestures Pras very guard Cassandra. He treated the beautiful girl with great caution. He even closed the door after waiting for the girl to comfortably sit down. She also wiped her tears first.
Mayasa couldn't stand it. He immediately threw away his face. He looked again at Prambodo's coffin which was now transported to a special car to the cemetery.
"Sir, I don't care if Mr. Arik gets in the way. Promises keep promises. Cassandra's six-digit birth date is spelled upside down, it's her safe lock code. I remember and I promise to keep a secret. The safe is only me and Cassandra can know the contents. I'll take care of Cassandra.
I know although friendly for a long time, but Mr. Arik still can not you trust 100%. You still fear that Cassandra is banished, behind, and her inheritance is taken? I won't let it." Mayasa whispered in his heart.
Seen from across there Arik Gudono still watched him occasionally. He seems to care. Mayasa decided to sneak away.
Isn't this the right time to secure everything? The safe box was in Arik's private room in the office. Now the office is closed. All employees are disbursed. There are at least a few security.
"Okay, it's time" whispered Mayasa who ignored the wound that still felt sore.
From the courtyard of the funeral home, Mayasa crossed the road to stop a taxi.
"Sir, the central building of Pragu yes. Can I rent it later? I want you to wait for me and park near the lobby. I will say security. I had to pick up some documents at the office" Mayasa said after sitting down.
"Can, Mom." The taxi driver replied.
Mayasa really did not want to dissolve anymore in his feelings of jealousy Pras. He wanted to focus first on Prambodo's secret message for him.
The old man's words among the ruins of the building were ringing again in his ears.
"May, I believe in you. Make sure only you know. You can turn off the CCTV when you take the safe so that Arik does not suspect. Remember, yeah. The way..."
