...Some people will leave your life. When the breakup happens, there is only sadness and pain when left behind. That is what Dara feels now. Togetherness with Thunder. The man who had filled his heart for the past two years had to end due to separation for good....
...***...
"Sister Thunder..." It was as if he could not believe that the body lying in front of him was now the man he loved so much.
Dara wasn't just crying. He even fainted repeatedly from not being able to face the fact that Thunder had been gone for good.
"Why Brother is gone. Continues after this same Dara who, this child.." with a gasp of breath. Her tears may have been dry with swollen, reddened eyes. "Our son.." he said in silence.
Warm palms stuck to his shoulders. Instantly jerked Dara and she immediately looked back.
"There's still me, brother nitipin you to me, right."
Eagle, he was the one who paid the most attention to Dara during Thunder's coma. But now that Thunder was gone, then would the Eagle divorce him? Dara's mind had not yet fully gone normal, she was still inside the eternality.
"I want to be alone, Brother." Dara left behind a single drop of clear feathers that finally flowed after the blank stare she had shown since Thunder was declared dead.
The eagle is so claustrophobic. I don't know why he felt so much pain. Of course he was sad because he lost his brother Thunder. But, the sadness deepened when he saw Dara so painfully lamenting the departure of his brother. Slowly the Eagle removed his palm from Dara's shoulder, then he followed what Dara wanted.
"If so, I will leave you alone. But, don't be sad, Dara. Poor your baby," he said.
Dara did not answer.
Her tears had run out which made her eyes swollen. In front of him was still exposed the body of Thunder before his lover was buried.
"Sister. I'm sorry I wasn't there next to you. I promise to take care of our baby. I'm not gonna let anyone take him away from me, brother."
The departure of Thunder made Dara aware that the baby in the womb was innocent. Thunder, though having impregnated him beyond his will. Still, it was his flesh blood. At first, she did not care if the Kusuma family took the baby even once. But now Dara started loving the baby.
"Sorry Mama yes, dear.." rubbed the stomach that began to bulge. "Your mother never thought you were there all this time. Mama was wrong, mama promised from now on you'd be mama's favorite.."
The thunder with no tears. It was the last kiss she gave to her boyfriend.
"May you calm down there, Brother ... Love you," he said.
Upon their arrival in Indonesia. Dara who tried to make the departure of Thunder turned very quiet. The eagle always tried to comfort Dara. But I don't know, Dara changed a lot, now she is just more often alone even though she still routinely does the examination of the womb and also takes vitamins. Dara as if avoiding the Eagle.
For the first time, that day, her in-laws asked her to speak seriously. It was Rania.
"Bara. After Thunder's departure, what are your plans?" ask Rania. Both of them were sitting in the middle room. Rania asked for time to talk to her daughter-in-law.
"There's no plan, ma'am."
Rania frowned while touching the lips of the tea cup in front of her.
"The child in your womb is still the granddaughter of the Kusuma family. After giving birth if you want to be free, you can, Dara."
At that moment Dara was seen sighing heavily. A second later he ventured to raise his face then looked at Rania with a firm body.
"I want to take care of my baby, Madam."
Rania stopped her index finger that was still rubbing the lip of the cup in front of her. Her gaze focused on Dara with a small arch on her lips.
"You changed your mind? Didn't you say you didn't care if the baby was going to be a full family right?"
"But he's my biological son, ma'am. I was probably too depressed then. So I said it without thinking logically. This baby remains my flesh blood. Then I do not want to be separated, I will take care of him with affection like the message of Thunder."
Rania nodded. He doesn't like Dara very much. But, Dara's attitude is the same thing he would do if he was in Dara's position, he thought.
"Then, do you have no intention of continuing college? Plan for yourself, is there?" ask Rania again.
Dara shakes. "I want to work."
Rania's question made Dara stunned.
Rania smiled in a slant. "Bara. Taking care of a baby requires mental readiness. You're too young, don't be narrow-minded by taking on responsibilities that you may not be able to bear."
"I can take Madam. My parents are still there anyway. They will be happy to help me take care of my baby. If I have already got a job. The point is I want to raise this child with my hands, ma'am. Hope Kusuma's family will understand," said Dara.
Rania didn't expect that Dara would say that. He was very young, not yet eighteen. The marriage of Dara and Eagle was deliberately not allowed to spread too far because of the distance of age Dara and Eagle are far apart.
"You sure Dara? Then you're ready to divorce the Eagle?"
Dara's heart was pounding when she heard the question. But, he had to be ready despite the heavy feeling that was occupying him. He was already anticipating by trying to keep his distance with the Eagle. Dara, who always misunderstands all the goodness of the Eagle, just doesn't want it until the feeling grows.
"I must be ready, Madam."
Rania nodded. "Alright, Dara. You take care of your content. I just want to talk about it."
"Yes. Thank you, Madam. Excuse me for the room" said Dara.
The pain Dara felt. At his very young age he had to endure all this. When their peers are busy building their future. Dara, instead of having to face an extraordinarily complicated problem for him, was also extremely pitiful if she continued to lament. Dara also has goals. As a smart girl, she certainly wanted to make her parents proud.
But all because of who? Dara doesn't know who to blame.
Wrong Thunder? Yes, this is indeed the fault of Thunder who was drunk and finally made Dara pregnant. But, it's all happened. Dara had no other choice but to accept all of God's ordinances which she considered to be her life's destiny.
The hawk? Thinking of such a good man made Dara's heart cut open. In fact, she would part with her husband's formality. Also a very good husband to him, as a husband-able figure to Dara.
Dara had thought of wanting to be loved by the Eagle. The last time the two had a casual conversation was just before Thunder died. She could never forget, that was the first time the Eagle kissed her.
When he was about to lay his body. The sound of knocking on the door made him lie down and sit back down.
"Who is? Is that Brother Eagle?" muttered.
"Become, it's me Eagle."
Dara was surprised because it was indeed an Eagle. What's he supposed to do? He himself had promised himself to keep his distance from the Eagle.
"Bara. We need to talk, I beg you." This time Dara was unable to ignore the knocking of the Eagle door just like that. Who her? Why would he be so bold as to ignore a person who had been so good to him like an Eagle.
"Yes, Brother. Wait a minute" said Dara.
"You need to be able to control yourself, Dara."
The door was opened by Dara. At that moment his eyes immediately met with both eyes of the Eagle who was looking at his gaze.
"Sir, what's wrong?"
"We'd better move out of this house."
"What?"
"Yes. I know that Mama asked you to talk earlier. It doesn't feel good for your body. I am in a place full of memories. You will also feel depressed about the whereabouts of my parents who are in this house. You want to move in with me?"
"Sister... Isn't this our agreement before marriage. I stayed here with Kusuma's family until my baby was born?"
"Yes. That was before everything changed as it is now. Dara, we have to talk from heart to heart."
The eagle touched Dara's palm. The touch was so warm, that it made Dara pound for the umpteenth time. "What do you want to talk about?"
"It's about the first agreement we got married. Looks like something has to change."
Dara speechless. He also did not know what the Eagle said. Altered? Change how?
