Arriving at the hospital, Bagas immediately headed to the Emergency Unit with quick footsteps. The nurses on duty there also moved quickly to deal with the boy.
Their movements were quite limited because the boy Bagas knew named Ken did not want to be separated from him, he continued to cry and roar in fear.
"Hey," called Bagas in a soft voice. Staring at the loyal Ken hangs over him like a koala. "Not to be afraid, I won't leave you. The brothers here are good, they help treat your wounds, Ken."
Ken peeked out from the recess of Bagas' neck, he looked at the nurses who were smiling gently at him.
"You don't want to be injected!" he whispered to the grown man.
Bagas shook his head slowly. He patted the child's back to give him a sense of calm.
"Sir, Ken. They just want to clean your wounds. Not injected."
Despite being persuaded, Ken still did not want to take off his embrace on Bagas' neck. Making the handsome man sigh in resignation, there was no way he was forcing Ken. The one with the child will scream with all his might.
"Why?" ask a young doctor in a sullen tone. Her gentle smile made others who were looking so smile along.
Bagas who heard the voice then breathed a sigh of relief. With difficulty he turned to the doctor who was none other than his own sister.
"Oh God! Thanks for coming on time, Bas!"
Hearing the brother's unusual tone made Bastian close his mouth to hold back a laugh.
"Some way to say lo, brother!"
The firstborn clucked in annoyance. He then coded Bastian with his eye movements.
"My new driver accidentally hit the kid. But the problem is that Ken doesn't want to be checked with anyone, I've been in kekepin mulu."
Bastian laughed at it. He then patted the brother on the shoulder with pride.
"Lo is fit to be a father. Waiting for the candidate."
Bagas did not respond to the ngawur babble of the younger brother. The man was now busy persuading Ken, because honestly his neck was sore.
Seeing Bagas overwhelmed, Bastian finally decided to join in persuading Ken.
"Hi, Ken," said Bastian with a wave of a small hand while smiling five fingers. Although Ken was just peeking, the man was still trying to persuade the boy. He then took a lollipop from his pocket. "Know the doctor's name, Bastian. As a sign of our friendship, would you like to take this? If Ken takes it, then we're starting!"
At first Ken was silent still by peering behind Bagas' sturdy shoulder. The boy then glanced at Bagas doubtfully.
Bagas who saw that reaction could clearly only smile in dismay.
"Why? Take it, doctor Bastian this is my sister."
Back Ken observed the doctor's friendly strokes as well as the lollipop in his hand. The boy suddenly curled his lips down.
"Say Mami can't take anything from a stranger."
Ken with his adorable face made everyone watching laugh. Even Bagas could not help his anxiety.
"You are," said Bagas as he pinched Ken's slightly filled cheek. "Nobody wants to fuck you up, Ken. Trust me, everything will be fine."
"Promise first yes, if you take this you want to check," said Bastian while shaking his lollipop. "It won't hurt, though. It was like being bitten by an ant. Later if not cleaned even become an infection, will ya?"
Since Ken was still hesitant to accept it, Bagas finally whispered something in the boy's ear. And miraculously Ken's face immediately sumringah, the boy nodded his spirit to the doctor.
Bastian who was amazed by Ken's change of expression looked proudly at the older brother. Finally Ken was laid quietly in bed, although his hand still did not want to be off holding a big pinky Bagas.
"Good boy" praised Bagas with a thin smile. "As a man you must be strong, do not be easily afraid and must be more courageous."
Ken nodded innocently. He then glanced at Bastian who was cleaning his wound, the boy almost shouted but immediately covered his mouth with his tiny hand. His eyes closed withstanding the pain as well as the fear that is certainly still there.
Bagas appreciates Ken's intelligence which easily understands his words. The man did not stop gently stroking Ken's hair that was so dense and black.
"Yeah! It's finished!" exclaimed Bastian while chuckling amusedly. Surely the interaction between Bagas and Ken did not go unnoticed. Slightly amazed because Bagas rarely want to be close to small children, but together with Ken everything feels different.
Ken who had closed his eyes tightly now began to peek, then glanced at Bagas who was smiling happily. The boy switched positions to lean there while looking at his closed wounds.
"Gee!" he cried with sparkling eyes. "It doesn't really hurt!"
The two brothers laughed. They enjoyed how the tiny face expressed.
"Well, Ken can go home!" bastian exclaimed which then passed away to deal with the other patients. "Gue first, Brother!"
Bagas just nodded back while waving his hand. He then looked at Ken who was now becoming moody again.
"Why? Is anyone sick?" ask her in panic.
Ken responded by shaking slowly. The boy's raoat cheered.
"Mami Kangen. Mami must be looking for Ken. You see Ken's naughty, it wasn't Mami's permission to look around the toys."
"We're looking for your mom, Ken. No need to worry," said Bagas who calmed. The man looked at Ken with such a gentle look. "And I also promise to buy you a toy because it's been winter against your fear."
Amidst the small talk of Bagas and Ken who were planning to visit a toy store in a mall, suddenly there was a voice of a woman shouting loudly.
"Where is my son?! Hey, where's my son?!"
Ken, who was no stranger to the sound, panicked. The boy moved quickly to get down who was helped by Bagas with a puzzled face.
"Mommy!" yelled Ken who was certainly the center of attention.
Tiyas, who was so frightened by the child's condition, immediately looked for the source of the voice. A sigh of relief was heard from the woman, immediately she ran over to the child then crouched down and hugged Ken tightly.
"Oh my God, thank God," said Tiyas, continuing to kiss the child who laughed. "You're worrying Mami, Ken!"
"Sorry, Mommy. Ken won't be like that anymore" retorted Ken who also hugged Tiyas so sweetly. "Oh yes Mommy. The acquaintance used to be the same Om who had helped Ken who was afraid because he wanted to be injected by a doctor."
Their hugs were released and Ken immediately pulled the hand of Tiyas who had yet to stand perfectly. When now the woman straightened her body, her eyeballs widened when she saw the figure in front of her. The man who had made her feel in love and also hurt simultaneously.
Surprise is also on Bagas. The man looked up when he found out that he could now see the beautiful face of Tiyas who was growing up. A sense of tightness now filled his chest, his hands trembled violently and his eyes began to glow.
The person she loved has returned.
