An Asa

An Asa
03

The fog dropped this morning, making the air in May that should be warm turn cold. Two children in uniforms with the alma mater of a junior high school are walking hand in hand.

Asa and Arka go to school on foot, they tread the still dirt road with a little pebbles scattered along the way. No shiny black asphalt, no concrete roads. There is only a hollow road here and there, if the rain falls will cause puddles and soil that is carried by the footwear that we use.

Many friends Asa and Arka who use motorcycles, they actually pity to see the brothers every day have to walk to school. Inwardly, they wanted to offer help, but they were afraid that their parents would find out and scold them just for giving Asa and Arka a ride.

“Why not use the beetle anyway, Bang? Our grand walk from TK until now Junior High School, where the further the school.” Arka started whining.

“Later damaged, dear it's Mbah Wowo's only relic.”

“If we had another rich motor, Bang.”

“Doain aja, hopefully later Brother already work we can have motor.”

“Yang big yes, Bang. Rich in tivi-tivi tuh, but what do you want to do? In the village there are only rice fields, the same ducks have Pak Lurah. Want to nernak a duck?”

Asa who heard his sister's words felt a little upset, instead of praying for the good Arka even said that. Wasn't that a prayer, Asa didn't want herself to just be a duck farmer. He must be able to lift the degree of Mbah Sumi, he must be able to boast of Mbah Sumi no matter what.

Without feeling they have arrived at Bojong Kulo junior high school, the only Junior High school in the village even in Bojong Kulo sub-district.

Arka immediately walked up the stairs to class VII, while Asa turned towards the corridor in the opposite direction. Actually Asa had no purpose to go to school because he had just taken the national exam, but he could not bear to see Arka who had to go to school alone. So Asa decided to keep going to school until they have a semester off.

From the end of the corridor Asa runs straight towards the back of the school, there is a tall angsana tree towering with yellow flowers. Asa sat under the tree and pulled out a book and a pencil. He began to make graffiti after graffiti in his notebook.

Asa loved design and pictures so much, she poured all her feelings into a graffiti. Solitude, longing, solitude, loneliness are all in Asa's image.

Asa took a deep breath, she covered her face with a book and fell asleep under the angsana tree.

🏍️🏍️🏍️

I don't know how long Asa had been asleep, until a shock and a shout disturbed her sleep.

“Sa, wake, Sa! The Arch is designed again the same with his force.” Adam awakens Asa with breath.

“Who?” Asa was shocked not to play.

“Obviously the village gang, Dandi Pak Lurah's son.”

“On the toilet, it's been a little bit there help the cassian,” Asa and Adam ran to the toilet at the west end of the school, he said, while the position of the angsana tree which is the most comfortable place Asa is at the eastern end of the school.

“Woy stops!” asa shouted as she saw Arka being pulled into the toilet. Everything stopped and looked at Asa, Dandi who saw Asa immediately grinned. “Woho Her brother came here .. want to be a hero of bad luck huh, Bang?”

Asa did not answer, he focused more on paying attention to the condition of the brother who had fallen apart. Loose tie, wet and dirty uniform, two buttons on the top loose, no matter what Dandi has done to his sister. As Asa's emotions rose, she clenched her hands and began to walk forward to beat Dandi. But it was held by Adam.

“Don't, Sa, inget them gang village, could-can later Mbah Sumi who hit the impact.” Adam tries to remind Asa, because the village gang itself is a collection of children whose parents work as village staff. He was chaired by Dandi Pak Lurah's son, followed by Rio Pak RW's son, Diaz, Pak RT's son and other staff.

“I don't care, Dam. They've gone too far, they could have insulted me because I realized I wasn't a good boy. But not with my sister. He's a good boy, it's not appropriate that he be treated like this.” Asa flicked Adam's hand which blocked his arm and began to walk closer and closer, with one swing Asa managed to land his hand right on Dandi's cheek.

“Already, Bang, don't do it again. Inget Si Mbah Bang ... Bang Adam's! please pull Bang Asa,” Arka shouted, she was afraid her brother lost control. Asa is emotional, can not be provoked a little he will immediately beat him to satisfaction. Arka remembers last year her brother was like this too and had an impact on the health of Mbah Sumi.

Adam immediately pulled Asa backwards, he was afraid Asa's emotions would harm Asa himself. Moreover, this is the school area if there are teachers who know Asa will definitely end up in the BK room.

“Sialan ... The child does not know himself! Dare you hit me huh!” Shouted Dandi did not receive his face hit Asa.

“Already, Dan. You better let Arka go, what do you really want? Always looking for trouble with Asa and Arka.” Adam begins to mediate trying to talk to Dandi.

“Diem you! Want me to go to your mama, huh? If you are still with them.” Dandi began to issue his threat.

“Cih .. It's usually just ngadu,” Asa gives a mocking smile. Dandi who did not receive immediately threw a punch to Asa's face, finally a fight was inevitable.

And here they are now, the guidance counselling room witnesses the all-out insult of Mbah Sumi's family.

“Please Mbah, teach your grandchildren this manners, not because they do not feel the affection of parents so insolent. Want to be a bouncer what do you want to be a thug?” Mr. Lurah spoke with stiffened neck veins and hands pointing at the face of Mbah Sumi. He did not accept his son was battered by Asa.

Asa stood up, he did not accept his vocation to be appointed as such. “Honored Pak Lurah, please introspect yourself first. Look at my sister, her condition is like that because of the actions of the father's son, naturally I as her brother do not accept.”

“Have ... already, here sit again same Mbah yes, Bang.” Mbah Sumi immediately pulled the arm of the grandson. Tears began to pool in the eyes of Mbah Sumi, one hand from earlier always holding his chest like holding pain.

“I'm sorry, if my grandchildren have been vigilante by beating your son to such bruises. Although they never felt the affection of their parents, but God willing I always instill affection for them. I know very well what my grandchildren are like, they will not bother if they are not disturbed first. Will not bite if not bitten first. If one of them is disturbed, the other will protect. Because in this world they are only two and must always protect each other.”
