An Asa

An Asa
10

Asa and the mother came out of the Counseling Guidance room to coincide with the school's return hour. Mama Ranti grabbed Asa's shoulder as the child was about to pass into the parking lot, making Asa turn her body and finally they faced each other. He looked at the eagle's eye bead belonging to his son. “Asa, what problem do you have? Why hit people? That's not good, son.”

“Nothing.” Asa put away the hand of the mother.

“As! Don't embarrass Mama. Om Randika has been very good, he wants to accept even already willing to bear all the costs of your school and Arka. Why are you dealing like this?” Snapping Mama Ranti. His patience was over, he had already tried asking in a good way. But Asa remained hard.

Mama Ranti does not want the husband's good name tarnished because of the actions of her child, not without reason Mama Ranti has such fears, her husband is one of the people who are reluctant at this school. She was grateful enough that Randika would accept her children well, even Randika considered Asa and Arka like her own children.

Asa smiled wryly. “I'm sorry if I embarrassed Mama, from now on I will find work to suffice my own life so as not to trouble Mama and Mr. Randika. Mama don't need to take care of me anymore, better Mama take care of her beloved daughter Mama, teach her manners.”

Asa left with an increasingly gaping wound, her heart ached again. How could the mother beat him in public, Luka who used to be still wet, still not dry, still not find a cure and now Mama Ranti added it with new wounds. Is it necessary to have to yell even say hurtful words, Asa like this is also because of her actions. Mbah Sumi only took care of it since the baby never said so, then easily Mama Ranti issued such words when it was only two months she lived with Asa.

From a distance the core members of Orion saw the interaction between a woman and a boy who was none other than his best friend, they would immediately be able to recognize the middle-aged woman who was chatting with Asa. Because the woman had often been to their school to accompany Cindy. If it's like this they can conclude Asa and Mama Cindy there's something that's not okay. They can't do anything if Asa herself hasn't shared her story.

Asa pedaled the beetle through small and narrow alleys, she wanted to meet her friends. However, Asa did not know what to contact them with. Asa herself does not have a cell phone, once one night Randika invited Asa and Arka to chat after dinner.

“Dad has a gift for both of you.” Randika presented a paperbag with the logo of a smartphone to Asa and Arka.

“What is this, Yah?” ask Arka innocently. Arka has called Randika by the name of father, in contrast to Asa who still calls him sir.

“Open aja.” Randika stroking Arka's hair.

“Waah .. new phone. This is for me, Dad?” Arka was enthusiastic.

“Iya, for you as Brother, so easy if there is anything.”

“Makasi, Dad. Bang, watch this, Bang.” Arka thanked him, he gave one of the phones to his brother.

“Thank you, sir, but I can't accept it,” Asa said.

“Why, Bang? Let it be easy if there is a girl who asks for the number Abang.”

“Otak you fill a mulu girl, nyalain water from the shower aja still ask for help Bi Ani. Learn first to turn on the shower, Dek,” Asa quipped, he stood up stepping up the stairs and then went into his room.

“Ish the Abang mah, maen unloading secrets aja,” grumbled Arka. Randika just smiles at the behavior of her children, she understands and does not mind if Asa still does not want to accept. He likes the nature of Asa though hard, he believes that one day Asa will be a successful person.

He passed through the courtyard of Chandra's house that looked lonely, it seems Chandra was not home even though he was reluctant to finally return home.

🏍️🏍️🏍️

The next morning, Asa went down when everyone was not at the dinner table. Asa heard the voice of the younger brother who was chatting with Bi Ani in the kitchen. Asa peeked and it was true that her sister was giving her favorite fried rice recipe to Bi Ani.

“I don't like bread, Bi, not full. The school is hungry again. Mending Bibi if make breakfast for me the same Bang Asa nasi goreng aja.” Arka began to protest.

Already two months of living here, it can not change the habit of Arka who breakfast must directly heavy food. In the past Mbah Sumi did teach them to eat breakfast with rice, not tea or pastries made. He said to be full until the break, and not too much snack.

When Asa turned her back, she was shocked because there was Mr. Randika who followed the action.

“Why New Arka says now?” Randika frowned.

“He did not want to make Mama or Mama angry, and drove him back to the village, sir. Arka wants to do whatever you want to be able to live with Mama,” Asa said.

“Astagfirullah Arch ...”

Randika stepped her feet closer to Arka, she immediately said to Bi Ani to add a serving of fried rice for everyone. Arka was a little surprised, she looked down scared.

Randika invites Arka to sit at the dinner table, trying to speak from heart to heart with Arka. Of course it is not difficult because Arka has an open nature. Randika said Arka and Asa could refuse or ask for the food they wanted, no need to worry because now this is their home too. And Randika can make sure that they will not be delivered back to the village.

They had breakfast with a bit of Cindy's chatter protesting why there was pale fried rice on the dinner table, to which was her favorite bread and peanut butter. Randika tried to rebuke the attitude of the child, but Ranti immediately defended Cindy on the grounds that Cindy had never eaten fried rice like that so naturally. Cindy did not run out there, she nagged to scream when she saw the beetle parked gallantly beside her car.

“What if my car is scuffed, Dad? Should be this kind of butut bike kept behind aja, do not be kept together with my car,” whine.

Ranti immediately calls Mang Maman, telling him to move Asa's bike so Cindy stops sulking. Randika actually forbid, he scolded Cindy because of her excessive attitude.

“Daddy don't love me.” Cindy clenched her feet, she ran into the house. Ranti followed trying to persuade the princess.

Asa saw the attitude of her mother like that can only be silent, is she really her birth mother? Why not a little Asa felt the love and care of the mother for her. When he was insulted indirectly, his mother did not defend him. Instead, he prioritizes the feelings of Cindy who is not his son, is he not the child his mother wants? but it's not Asa's fault. Asa never asked to be born as a child, if Asa asked, he wanted to be born as a child loved by both parents, nurtured and educated by his parents. No need to be rich in wealth as long as the hearts of his parents are full of affection Asa already feel happy.
